Marlaey walked slowly into the Trainer's Lounge and looked around. She was holding her new metapod gently in her arms as she signed the sheet to enter a battle room. Stepping into the seventh room she smiled down at Keena, "You'll be fine, don't worry," she whispered, but the bug type just shivered, frightened.
Marlaey wanted to boost her metapod's confidence by having her battle because she knew that after a match she would evolve into a beautiful butterfree. She hoped a trainer would come in soon so she could get started, and if they wanted to battle with more pokemon she was more than happy to do so.

Cora wandered into the Trainer Lounge. She seemed to do that a lot lately, but she found a sign in sheet and read the words "Sign Up to Battle!". It could not hurt, right? She scribbled her name down, and found an opening in the seventh room. Cora must not have kept her opponent long, because as she walked down the hallway she noticed her opponent turned into her room. Cora followed her inside and smiled, "Hello, I'm Cora. Would you like to battle?" She released her shiny surskit, and her poke'dex since she had not memorized all of her poke'mon's moves. Cora would be down for battling with her entire team if her opponent was also.

Marlaey beamed as someone followed her quickly into the room. "Hi there! My name's Marlaey and this is Keena. We'd love to battle!" Her metapod however, didn't appear as enthusiastic about the prospect. She blushed slightly with embarrassment and wanted nothing more than to flee. Marlaey peered at the surskit admiringly before starting the match.
"A shiny? Rare.. Wow, she's gorgeous!"
Turning back to her own pokemon she said, "Let's go Keena, use Harden and string shot!" The metapod's coat shimmered as it hardened and then she released a torrent of sticky string out over the field to the surskit.

Cora did not truly appreciate a "shiny" Pokémon well. Sure, Sanskri was a different color than most surskit, but she was unique. Special. And rather clingy. It did not take long for that spider-like Pokémon to climb up Cora's leg, but noticing the battle was taking place she jumped off and faced her cacooned opponent. "She's a sweetheart," Cora commened on her surskit, and then watched as the attacks played out.
It seemed as though this trainer was acting defensively at first. The metapod's exterior looked beautiful, and it even distracted Cora and Sanskri enough to be off guard for the string shot attack. Cora jumped backwards, sure not to get any of the sticky substance on her shoes, but Sanskri was stuck in the goo.
Although the string shot bought the metapod some time, the shiny surskit broke free of the sticky mess and stared it down. Cora quickly pulled out her pokedex, scanning for attacks since she was still a newbie at this sort of thing. "Sanskri, use scald please." She said, her voice in the least bit demanding. Sanskri followed orders, shooting out a spray of water, like a water gun, but instead this liquid was hot.

Marlaey smiled as she watched the surskit, such a pretty little pokemon!
Looking down at Keena she noticed that the metapod had used harden again to p her defences further. Poor bug pokemoon, she was so shy and nervous! A burning scald attack was soon shooting from the other bug type and Keena yelped out loud as the water stung through her cocoon. She shook herself and zoomed forwards in a tackle attack, hoping to best the shiny thing.

ooc: where did Rain Dance come from? Surskit only knows Swift Swim as an ability (Rain Dish being it's hidden ability which can only be attained through admins) and it's not listed in Sanskri's attacks.

Apparently the metapod did not like being boiled, and took it out on the surskit with a tackle attack. How a creature like this can tackle when it does not have arms or legs, Cora wondered? Of course, the surskit stood there like a sitting duck and took the attack. Was this how it was supposed to be? Cora knew if she was being attacked, she would try to get out of the way as quickly as possible. Cora did not really know the concept of "dodging". Poking her nose back in her poke'dex, she decided on her surskit's next move. "Psybeam?" A peculiar ray was shot at the metapod from the surskit's mouth.

Psybeam! Wow! What an attack...
Marlaey called out to her metapod, trying to get Keena to dodge quickly, but the ppor bug type wasn't eactly speedy. She was hit hard by the psychic attack and pushed backwards towards her trainer. Marlaey knelt down beside her whispering, "Come on Keena, I know you can do it!" The metapod gingerly righted herself and hardened once again to heighten her defenses before charging in a tackle attack.

Watching the metapod's shell harden was a beautiful sight, indeed. There was a quick glean to its exterior, and Cora caught it as she watched the pokemon attack her own. Cora did not understand the concept of commanding her pokemon to dodge yet... Sanskri was hit, the poor thing, and was thrown backwards. The sanskrit huffed and charged after the metapod in an angry stupor. Cora smiled, "Yes, that's it. Quick attack!" She called out to her already attacking Sanskri. She charged at the green pod, much quicker than usual and aimed between the eyes. That'll show 'em!

She didn't like this whole battling thing. Though her body was a lot tougher than most pokemons, she still felt bruised beyond belief. Blinking her eyes slowly, she tried to focus on what she had to do. But the second she looked up to see the dual type pokemon, it had gone! Th quick attack was a blur to Keena and she was hit squarely between the eyes. The young metapod was pushed backwards on the field and felt dazed. She was getting tired, but one more tackle might help! She charged forwards, forgetting to harden her green self.
