Dougie left the meeting room silently and went across the hall to the storage room. Hold a Pokémon for as long as he could? He could deal with that. Picking up a random ball, one that had the words "Diglett" taped on it, he left the room and ventured down the empty hall. His brown eyes watched silently every movement around him as he walked, he lived on the streets before and knew to be observant.
Down one of the halls he saw another TD member, a female though he didn't know their name. He kept walking though. Now wasn't the time for socializing, nor did he particularly want to even if there was time. Stopping at an elbow shaped corner in the hallways he spotted a chair and smiled. Pulling it to sit in the corner he sat down and got comfy, waiting for the first victim trainer to come his way.

Cleon had not been able to figure out the password on his own; he had never heard of Unown, let alone was he able to realize that the creatures made up letters. Still, he’d walked towards the Power Plant with a group of trainers who had figured out the apparently simple code with ease, and split up upon arrival. His Pokemon were not overly strong, but he wanted to head off on his own. See what there was, do what he could. He’d be just fine -- and this was exciting!
Managing to move quite far through the labyrinth of hallways without encountering anyone, Cleon was almost surprised to see a lad sitting down at the corner ahead. Waiting, it seemed. Was he part of this so-called Team Death? He certainly wasn’t doing anything to help out the situation. On edge, not wanting to let his guard down, the wiry youth approached with his trademark smile.
”Hey, you happen to see any stolen Pokemon around here? Or know the cause of the blackout?” Yah. Right to the point. Cleon’s great at subtlety.

Having swiftly left the scene of Eleanor's battle, seeing that it was simply impossible at those odds, he went in search of a more feasible opponent. He cracked a smile as he saw a scene between Dougie, the blond guy from before, and some new trainer that must've been investigating the Power Plant. Well, it was obvious what he was doing here, just by listening in to the conversation. His footsteps against the metallic floors would have given him away, but Susumu didn't mind. He cast an angry, threatening glare at Cleon, knowing his mission now. His job was to get his starter back from Syl, and to do that, he had to play along for a bit. These trainers could tolerate losing for a bit, could they not? "You ask a lot of questions for a trespasser." Susumu raised an eye as he walked closer to the pair, giving Dougie a nod of greeting. "You have a badge or something on you? Something to prove that you work here?" He asked, raising his head with a tilt to the side. He got a good look at Cleon; young features, brown hair. Looked like the kind of guy that would go around doing good deeds.

Dougie watched with brown eyes as Cleon made his way to him and almost chocked at how stupid the questions the male asked him. Deciding to play the male, Dougie put on a confused expression before standing from his chair. "Stolen pokemon? I don't know anything about that. I'm just a guy on lunch break. I've already eaten if you're curious but the room we work in is in pretty bad shape. I'm clearing a headache before heading back in. Blackout though? We've been working mostly non-stop to fix it. I should have had my break over an hour ago but I couldn't find a good stopping point."

Play up the confused worker act. It was then that the blond and black haired male noticed Susumu walking down the hall and couldn't help but smile when the male started helping him with his act. Who would have thought that it would have played together so well. "Susumu!" He refrained from calling him Shamu to look more convincing. "He doesn't work here. He would of known the situation. I was just telling him how we've been working to get the power back up." He hoped that Shamu would have enough sense to follow along with the gig. "So, are you here for your lunch break? Or have you eaten?" Glancing over to Cleon though, Dougie's smile dropped. "Look kid, this isn't the place for you. Once the power is back up we'll tell everyone and you can go back to your technology revolved lives. Now leave, this is a personnel only zone and you're lucky I'm easy going. Most the staff would have beaten you up before taking you to the cops to charge you for breaking and entering. I'm sure you don't want that." [/div][/blockquote][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true]

For a moment, Cleon was almost inclined to believe Dougie’s act, if only to prove that such a young man was not involved in causing such a disaster and stealing from the innocent. However, upon the entrance of yet another man, the entire ploy fell through. Dougie was clearly older than Cleon, and though he did not look the sort to work at a power plant, who was he to ask? Susumu, on the other hand, must be younger than him. There was no way they would hire such a twerp. And besides: it seemed planned out, the answers too well plotted.
Might as well play along for a while? These two were liars, and trainers; he could see their Pokeballs. Two against one was not particularly a favorable situation… and maybe he could get backup should he prolong the inevitable battle. He didn’t particularly like how there was nowhere to run; he was cornered. ”I’m pretty sure that I should be asking you two for your badges. They called me in for backup, but didn’t really explain the situation, see?” Cleon, at least, had the benefit of looking older thanks to his facial hair; even if he was scrawny, that at least gave him some sort of maturity. And he was backup, of a sort. That wasn’t a lie. But maybe a bit of a lie was necessary. If these two were involved? They were hurting others. Nothing was worth that.
”You two really should be ashamed, relaxing while Pokemon are dying due to lack of technology,” Cleon went on, his good natured smile fading as he looked between the two young men on either side of him. ”This isn’t just about children playing games on the television or chatting with their friends on the phone. Have you seen the Pokemon Center? I passed through there on my way here. You’re toying with those creatures’ lives. Is this a game to you?” Though his voice was steady, his eyes were narrowed in a show of distaste. ”Do what’s right. If you won’t fix this, I will do my best to do so on my own.”

"Ah, Dougie. Yeah, had the tuna casserole again. The lunch sucks here." He said with a forced laugh, a bit caught off guard at how smoothly Dougie went into his lies. Then again, he was a pretty good liar himself. Most of the time. Group lies were difficult though. When Dougie gave his 'lecture' on how lucky Cleon was that they wouldn't bust him for breaking and entering, he almost wanted to laugh. Yeah, have us be the good guys now. The Cleon seemed to catch onto their act, something about his older appearance seemed threatening, but he wasn't one to be phased by adults. He never really was, actually. As he tried to reason with them, Susumu rolled his eyes, having heard this before. He had to admit, the first time he heard it it was a bit shocking. It totally caught him off guard, then he realized how improbable it really was. "...I think it's been made pretty clear that this is more than a game." He stared hard at Cleon, realizing that keeping up the act would have been more trouble than it was worth. He wanted his own Vulpix back, dammit, so this 'good guy' had to suck this up for a while. Same to the Pokemon at the center. They'd make it. They had to, right? "You should think twice before sending out a Pokemon. You wouldn't want a bomb to hurt them." His eyes flickered dangerously, as if telling him that he wasn't shitting around. Ok, so the bomb was actually a Pineco, but it was good enough.

Dougie grinned as Shame talked casually about the lunch in the power plant. Good. He could go with the story... That was now falling apart it seems. The male was trying to lie into their lie?! Oh no no no. That won't do. "Don't you dare try to fuck with me kid. Lying isn't going to get you anywhere here in this place. What ever happened to your "where are the stolen pokemon" act just a moment ago?"
|
He hissed the words out like venom. "Don't you dare try to put your nose into our work here because you're a bit curious. This power plant needs to get up and running again and you, definitely not an electrician or anything of the sorts, are trying to worm your way in. Now get out. You've pissed me off enough. I don't have to show any badge to a fucking kid who thinks they got stuff." He growled out. Listening to Susumu's comment of it not being a game he nodded and decided to leave it at that. Looking over Cleon with anger filled brown eyes, the 21 year old wondered if he would head his warning and leave. It was the male's final speech that caught him though. Pokemon in the centers dying? Well while he didn't want death (who really did) and he couldn't help but feel sorry for the pokemon's trainers, he couldn't help but fell... Uncaring? Glancing over at the male he could only assume that with his pokeballs, and with Susumu's comment of not daring to throw a pokemon out, that he was a trainer. It was probably obvious by now that their lie was see through but Dougie was curious as to how long they could keep it going, even if the male knew it so. ”It appears that I’m not the only kid around here that thinks that he’s ‘got stuff,’” Cleon remarked, watching Dougie more carefully at this point than he was Susumu. Despite the warning of a bomb, the older male seemed to be a bit more of a living bomb than his comrade. He wasn’t going to lie; the idea of going up against two unknown trainers who did not appear to care about injured and dying Pokemon was more than a bit unnerving. He’d push a bit harder before going into full-out battle mode. Even if the electricity could be replenished… that would be enough for the time being. Stolen Pokemon could always be recovered. Dead ones were gone.
Lying did not seem to be going well for Cleon, and he recognized that. He wasn’t good at lying, anyway. Never was, probably never would be. It was probably not even worth a shot, looking back at it. Back to honesty. ”I know I don’t ‘got stuff.’ That doesn’t mean that I will let innocent people and Pokemon suffer and die,” Cleon said, looking back at Susumu. ”I don’t care what you guys are doing here. Meddle away, play electrician or thief. I‘m playing in order to make things right.” And I am willing to fight for that if I have to.
He placed his hand on the Pokeball containing Prometheus, his Zubat, but he did not withdraw it nor make any other implications of initiating combat. These two would not give in. He knew it, saw it in their eyes. There would be a fight. But he wouldn’t start it. Let them.

"You're making this have more drama than it needs. People dying. Sure they are. Think about it. The power's only been out for a day, and you think they're gonna die?" He raised an eyebrow at Cleon, having a lot more faith in the abilities of the hospitals and Pokemon Centers than most of these 'good guys'. They would make do, at least for now. It wasn't as if the power was gone for a week, like that giant blackout in 2006 or something. "And you're talking a lot. I can tell you're itching for a fight. Just look at you." His eyes narrowed when he saw Cleon's hands inch closer to his sides, a subtle body language that made his body jolt in mixed surprise and eagerness. Now unless he was going to pull a gun out on them, it was a Pokeball. "Fine." He glanced over at Dougie, as if to ask if he was in or out, and swiftly released his Pineco from his Pokeball. The Pineco let out a determined cry, standing proudly before his trainer with his hard shell extending open and closing, as if stretching. "How about you stand guard somewhere, Yama. Some computers could stand to be destroyed." He suggested, to the Pineco's surprise. Computers? What were those? Susumu pointed in the direction of some fancy human made contraptions and he hopped towards them, as if protecting them. "Yama is special. He has the ability to blow up. Think it'll be fun to see how soon the power will come back on, even if we lose?" He smirked, having thought about this pretty well. Well, if he tried to take on Yamato, the Pineco could just blow up anyways to defend himself, and take out some fancy high tech stuff. Terrorism. yay. ::pineco:: { Yamato } Level: 7 On Stand By

Dougie rolled his eyes as the male spoke again. He was so tempted to just say "I have stuff. Go ask a female. Sorry you can't see it seeing how even though you're as straight as a pin you couldn't get a girl to save your life." He'd stay silent for now at least. If he said too much he'd give something away that he shouldn't or he'd just in general not be able to think straight.
Watching Susumu toss out a pokemon, Dougie's eye immediately went to Cleon to see what he would do with the appearance of the Pineco. He listened keenly to "Whale Boy" talk of blowing up the computer. He grinned, wondering how the male would fight that situation. His pokemon couldn't explode and they didn't have something like water to mess up circuitry but he figured if he had to toss out a pokemon he could.
Dougie really wanted the male to leave and without a fight but he could only assume that they wouldn't be able to know. He was learning too much from tiny fragments that if he was smart, could piece together. Though the 21 year old wasn't all too positive that the male was smart to begin with. He surely wasn't a good liar, though that probably didn't effect intelligence much.

Arguing with these fellow young men was getting nowhere. It was like trying to fight with ones siblings -- no one was willing to give in. This was, however, slightly more serious than who had to go trim back the ivy from killing the old oak in the front yard. Still, lingering and fighting and trying to prove his point was not going to change anything. These two were stubborn, pushing for their own future. Cleon would have to push back just as hard.
Swallowing any further replies about the consequences of the blackout, Cleon couldn’t get images of patients in hospitals dying due to lack of life support, or Pokemon fading slowly into darkness without means of maintaining heart rate or blood flow. Couldn’t they see any of that?
Then came the continuation of the bomb threat. Well, shit. Cleon looked at the pinecone-like Pokemon nervously, then grinned, selected a Pokeball, and released Target from the sphere. It was a good thing he had looked at the Pokedex description of Poliwag before the blackout. Damp. Pokemon were unable to use Self-Destruct of Explosion when Pokemon of this type were around thanks to the humidity in the air, or some nonsense like that. Of course, the idea of water being bad for circuitry did not cross Cleon’s mind. Like Dougie thought, Cleon really wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box; his upbringing did not require him to be particularly clever. Still, a bit of water getting on a computer was better than a full-out explosion.
“Have fun with that bomb business,” Cleon said, still smiling wryly at Susumu. “What’s next on your list of ways to threaten me?” Target, meanwhile, was glancing between the three humans with large, wide eyes. He’d yet to be in a battle with other Trainers. Was this a battle? Did he have to fight? He didn’t really want to, not here. This place was weird, and felt all tingly. He blew a few small bubbles to calm himself down. One small bubble floated over in front of Susumu’s face.
“If either of you have any of the stolen Pokemon, I really would appreciate them back, at the very least. I’m sure they’re missed.”

Cleon reached for a Pokeball and sent something out, though at the moment Shamu didn't know what, and instinctively he grabbed at yet another Pokeball at his side, ready to release whatever was inside. Then he hesitated, noticing that what Cleon had released wasn't ordered to attack. He paused, wondering what was going on, if this was some type of formality before a battle or what. If he thought playing fair in such a serious moment was going to earn him any points, well, it wasn't. Even those 'detectives' that talk down those that are suicidal will play dirty when they get the chance. Those are the fricking good guys too. He had no doubt in his mind that this stranger would pull something like that either, especially with his paranoia put on alert due to the situation. Then he shifted about uncomfortably, noticing a funky humidity in the room, made even clearer with the lack of windows to let the dampness escape. This wasn't the first time he experienced this ability. In fact, only an hour ago he was up against it. He frowned, knowing exactly what was going on. "Good play. Now...where do we go from here?" His eyes narrowed, half wondering what Dougie was going to pull. "Take out my Pineco, and you're bomb free. We take out your little hypno toad" Oh haha, Shamu knew about memes. "And the threat still stands." He arched an eyebrow, as if daring Cleon to act. It was all pretty obvious that they were stubborn, and someone had to make a move sometime. He paused, recalling what Cleon last asked. Stolen Pokemon, huh? "Sorry. I don't know much about that." He shrugged. He was here to protect and defend, and that was all.

Dougie immediately placed a hand on his pokeballs in his pocket when Cleon tossed out a pokemon. A water type it seemed but with it's appearance the air changed. More humid. It was odd seeing how they were in a building with no windows for one, and second this was a power plant. Humidity meant water in the air or something like that right? Isn't that bad for electricity?
The 21 year old didn't know what the move damp was but from the other two's conversation something told him that the bomb threat wasn't going to work. Sighing, he pulled his hand out of his pocket, empty handed, and walked over to the machine that the Pineco was standing by. Offering a small 'excuse me' to the pokemon, he glanced at the machine for a moment. Seemed much more complex then hot wiring a car but he figured he could do something with it.
Quickly raising a leg to his chest, he gave a hard kick to one of the side panels on the machine. The panel had dented, and with a few more kicks or help from a Cranidos it would give way to expose the wires and circuitry behind it. Grinning to himself he glanced up at Cleon. "Now, just because we can't blow it up doesn't mean we can't tear it apart now can we?"
It was only after he said that he started to feel a bit of pain in his foot from kicking the metal panel but outwardly he didn't show it. He couldn't give away that this plan wouldn't work with more kicking. It would work however with his borrowed pokemon.

Yamato shyly nodded when Dougie walked past him, but didn't expect the trainer to go on a kicking spree. Kick. Kick. Kick. Didn't the human look as if he was in pain? Still, to make the metal bend like that. Even he was starting to want to give it a try, except he didn't know if Susumu wanted him to do that. "Trash the place? Hell yeah." He snickered, stealing a glance at Cleon before joining Dougie in the beat-up. He didn't tell Yamato to do anything, preferring to leave the bug type out of it for the time being. After all, of of these kicks and punches were making his feet super sore. Like, pain much? <This. Is. Really weird.> The Pineco gasped, hopping away from the scene with wide eyes. He had no clue what was going on, and could only look nervously at the Poliwag and its trainer. Were they enemies of some kind? ::pineco:: { Yamato } Level 7

Cleon’s slight triumphant grin faded quickly as Dougie wandered over to the Pokémon bomb and began investigating the circuitry. Then he started kicking.
”Wait, what…” Cleon began, though he stopped when Susumu joined his companion in the onslaught. He had the same view as the Pineco: this was weird. Getting involved now was certainly a necessity, but how? These two could easily beat Cleon out of the way. But what if they ended up electrocuting themselves? Or blowing the place up? This was just stupid. ”Stop that, seriously, you’re going to end up hurting yourselves,” Cleon said, holding out his arms helplessly.
Dammit. They weren’t going to stop. Cleon knew that even before requesting their actions to cease. He couldn’t force them to stop, but his Pokémon might be able to do so. Whipping out a Pokeball, and a few sparks later, Prometheus was fluttering about the dim hallway, squeaking loudly. “’Theus, Supersonic the Pineco, then Zen Headbutt.” Distract the guys with a battle. Might make them stop trying to get them all killed.
The Zubat responded by hastening the squeaks in a strange pattern and aiming the sound waves at the pinecone-like Pokemon, then he dove in to ram the creature.
Level Nine Prometheus used Supersonic, then Zen Headbutt.

"He reacts when we kick a machine, but doesn't really care if we blow shit up." Susumu mocked Cleon when he sent out the Zubat, finally resting his extremely sore feet. He was going to tell Yamato to protect himself, but suddenly it felt almost as if he broke something. God forbid. He swore as he started jumping on his unused foot, trying to endure the pain the best he could. <Hostile bat! Hostile bat! What to do! What do I do?!> The Pineco hopped around in a jittery craze, unsure of what actions were proper without instruction. If this was on the route, he would've fought. Quite naturally. Ok, and in the wild, he would... Hide and Harden, right? He tucked himself into his shell as the Supersonic grazed his body, appearing as if he wasn't phased. Then the Zen Headbutt knocked him backwards; a high powered attack that even made him ache through that shell of his. His eyes were hidden in his thick shell, making it unclear of the Pineco's reaction. <P-pain.> He grunted, slowly lifting up the 'flaps' of his pine cone resembling shell. The confusion seemed to have missed him for now, but it was a 50/50 chance. Who was to say it wouldn't work the second time? Either way, his body locked. For some reason...he couldn't attack. Damn. ::pineco:: { Yamato } Supersonic misses. (Defense +1) Zen Headbutt hits. Flinches.

Dougie gave a small laugh at Shamu's words as he himself stopped kicking. A Zubat now? But his brown eyes landed on something much more troublesome. Shamu might of just broke his foot. Well fuck. Hadn't the kid kicked a vending machine before? You kick enough and it hurts but you don't use full power. Sighing he walked back to the chair in the corner before picking it up and setting it by Susumu. "Here."

Glancing back at the battle he ran a hand in his hair before tossing a pokeball into the air and calling two attacks. "Zed, sword dance and headbutt." A shadow Cranidos appeared in the hallway from the sparking pokeball (flinching a bit a static electricity from being released) but started doing an odd dance number.... Was he doing Thriller? No time to debate though before the dinosaur charged for the Zubat and leaped into the air, head at the ready. Of course, one of the lads would end up hurting himself. Cleon sighed and shook his head, but couldn’t help but feel that Susumu deserved such a reward for his stupid actions. Not like his own behaviors were incredibly well planned out, but at least he wasn’t trying to blow up the place, nor was he holding stolen Pokemon. Still, he felt bad for him, Cleon couldn’t help it. He did nothing to stop Dougie from giving the injured guy a chair. It took all he had to mutter a ‘told you so’ to Susumu, but he somehow resisted the urge.
”Dodge the dinosaur, Supersonic it, then focus in on the Pineco with another Zen Headbutt,” Cleon called out, hoping his spazzy Pokemon could keep up with the directions. To his surprise, the Zubat did indeed manage to swoop out of the way of the attack, though barely, and fired a Supersonic attack at the strange Cranidos. Without waiting to see if the attack hit, it darted back in an attempt to smash into the bomb-like Pokemon.
Cleon chanced a glance down at his Poliwag, who was hiding behind his trainer’s legs. For now, the little tadpole would remain to make sure nothing would explode thanks to an explosion or self-destruct. Once the Pineco was down, he could enter the fray.
::zubat:: Prometheus dodged Headbutt. Used Supersonic on Zed, then Zen Headbutt on Yamato.

"Hey. I-I'm fine. Thanks." Shamu said meekly, a bit embarassed that he had to be given a freaking chair. It wasn't that bad; it only hurt like a dinosaur chomped down on it for five seconds, and he figured it would get better if he rested it. Sighing as he pretended to let the pain melt away, he could hear the sounds of battling going on. Now was probably a good time to pay attention, huh. "Hey. If we can take that Poliwag out, Yamato can take out anything he has left." He decided to mention to Dougie, if he was willing to cooperate. The problem was that he had a rock type. Rock didn't go so well with water, but from the looks of it, this was a really strong rock type. "I got it." He whispered, an idea striking him. TD didn't have to play fair, did they? And he really wanted his Vulpix back. Taking out Ken's Pokeball, he tossed it into the field at the same time Yamato got struck with the Zen Headbutt. "Stealth Rock, Ken. Tackle the Zubat then Harden Yama." He commanded, already having an idea for how this battle was going to work. Any other trainers that decided to run in? Stealth Rock Would Get Them, while Dougie's team would be safe. The Geodude smashed his fists into the metal as Yamato recovered from the painful blow, only glad his defense kept his hopes up. A series of flying rocks hovered ominously in the air, only striking newcomers onto their battle. Then Yamato finally gave chase to the pesky Zubat, attempting to jump up and tackle the evasive critter. Either it hit, or it didn't. But after his Tackle attempt, he bulked himself up with Harden. Those Zen Headbutts wouldn't do much now, especially without STAB.

Sierra had been referred to the Power Plant incident the very first hour it had happened, yet she'd found herself lost and wandering around for ages in the horrible place. She knew she should've picked up one of those power plant maps when she had the chance, but she'd been too used to the digital map on her pokedex to remember.
After what seemed like forever, however, the distant sound of battling and hoarse yelling caught her ears. Right on time, apparently. Taking this opportunity, she followed the sound of the battling until she came to a hall lined with rooms.
She could hardly tell which room needed whatever aid she could provide the most. I mean, she didn't have a list of whoever was in TD and who wasn't. So, trusting her own gut, she stepped through the hall until she stopped near a random room and pressed her ear to the wall. No noises really identified the battlers, though, so she had to walk by the door and peer through the glass to gain more information.
Well, judging by her quick glance, two boys were ganging up against one. She hadn't seen any of them before, but the vibes emanating from the blonde and... other blonde seemed darkly suspicious to the good-willed girl. In addition, the brown-haired man in there seemed to be struggling. Her mind made up, she threw open the door to the storage room, then bolted inside and stood a little ways from Cleon. She aimed a look in his direction, hoping to catch his eyes and nonverbally tell him that she didn't know exactly what the hell she was doing.
"Go, Terra! Ironhead!" Sierra exclaimed, hastily tossing out the Cubone's pokeball. Noticing that one of the blonde guys had two Pokémon in front of him, Sierra inwardly gaped. Not only did they already have an advantage over brownie over there, but he was bending it even more by having sent out two. Well, she'd show him! Unclipping another pokeball from her belt, she let out yet another Pokémon.
"Stimpy! Absorb!" She commanded as her newly-obtained Turtwig appeared in the field in front of her. The little Turtwig shook his head and blinked once, wondering where the hell he was, but then realized that his beloved new trainer had given him a command. He had to carry it out, quickly, lest she hate him like Kenna did! Fearing the thought of being ignored again, the turtle vigorously shot out two vines towards Susumu's geodude, Ken.
Both pokemon, as they were sent out, grimaced as miniscule flying rocks (Stealth Rock) jabbed into their flesh. It hurt quite a bit, but not so much that their strength was affected.
The skull-bearing Pokémon raised her head, glimpsing the fearsome artificial lights and wounded, angry Pokémon and trainers. Struck with fear, the young Cubone immediately turned around and ran into Sierra's leg, to which the teen staggered back with a yelp of surprise. A bit embarrassed, she repeated her order. "Not me, him!" She gestured in the direction of the oddly glowing Cranidos which stood under the control of Dougie.
A bit disappointed that her trainer did not offer her any comfort, Terra turned around and, locking onto her target, bounded toward him with her head bent and glowing slightly metallic.
