[OOC: u.u I sorry. . . I'll get on that. . .]
Twizzler spluttered and lifted his heads above the spray as the Water Gun attack hit him smack dab in the middle of his torso. He took several steps back from the force of the attack, but he managed to keep his balance.
When the attack had finally subsided, Twizzler shook his heads. He was now sodden and didn't really feel all that good about getting the wind knocked out of him by a little Water attack.
"Hang in there, Twizz!" Chloe called, looking concerned for her Pokemon. "Use another Quick Attack!"
Her Doduo glared at the Wooper in front of him, bunched his leg muscles, then shot forward. The little blue Pokemon was full in his sights, and he wasn't going to be happy until it payed for all the damage it caused him.

Wooper could do nothing as he was hit by yet another quick attack, being thrown around like a ragdoll. Again, he rose up to his feet, stomach aching, and turned to face his opponent. All he wanted was to protect the bridge, and make his brother proud. A tear trickled down his face. But he forced himself to be strong, and did so by conjuring up another round of water in his gullet, spewing it forth with such vigor that he felt himself get pushed back a bit. He was silently pleased, but knew in his heart of hearts that he was probably already done for.

Twizzler was hit by the Water Gun, but he had begun to dodge it, so he was merely grazed. He shook his heads, then shot toward the little Wooper, both heads held low as his beaks shone with a dull light, getting ready for another Peck attack.
Chloe sighed and tried to decide whether or not she wanted this Pokemon. A Water Type would definitely come in handy eventually, but this Wooper just seemed like he was doing this because he had to. . . And he seemed sad. . . Maybe catching him would only make things worse. . .

The Wooper yelled in frustration as the attack he had worked so hard on barely hit. Slapping his tail against the ground in frustration he used Mud Sport. The mud coated his body, making him slipperier and more able to dodge attacks. It also reduced electricity's power, but he didn't have to worry about that with a bird pokemon.
The Wooper foresaw the attack coming and simply started running towards the pokemon as it it was going to attack it head on. Instead however, it quickly flopped onto his back and slid underneath the Doduo. He then shot a Water Gun at the pokemon's unprotected back.
He would make his brother proud! He didn't get captured after protecting this bridge just to have it be lost once again! This Wooper refused to let himself get captured. He would stay and protect the bridge!

Twizzler crowed indignantly as the Water Gun landed head-on. He almost tripped forward, but managed to keep his balance. The battle was starting to wear on him, though, and he wasn't quite sure how much longer he would last.
"It's alright, Twizz! Use Quick Attack this time!" Chloe called. She could tell her precious Pokemon was feeling more tired, but she also knew that he would come through for her in the end.
Screeching angrily, Chloe's Doduo whirled around to face the Wooper, then shot toward him with great speed. He became a blur as he rushed the Pokemon, determined to make his trainer proud.

((Don't forget that your Jade Hoothoot knows Iron Defense. All Jade Pokémon know that move. =3 ))
The Wooper was getting more anxious as to the fate of his precious bridge and himself after such a long battle. What was to happen if he lost? Well, to be honest, he knew he didn’t have much of a chance of winning. Despite all of the effort he put into his last attempt to hurt the Doduo and scare them off, it would just be worthless. He wasn’t a trained Pokémon, his life wasn’t made for battling.
’I’m a Quagsire though! I should be stronger than this.’ He thought with a scowl, trying to forget the tears he held from earlier to brace himself for another Quick Attack. Though his body was slippery and his feet agile, he couldn’t take that many hits, and his health was getting low after getting attacked so many times.
“Woopaaaa!” He cried out, getting rammed into by a pair of powerful legs and knocking the wind out of him. Coughing and hacking to try and breathe in valuable fresh air, air that he felt more than deprived of after such an attack, he glared at the Doduo as if he was going to attack again. Panting and wheezing for oxygen, he looked as if he was going to shoot out another attack until he fell on his back. Simply not having the energy or will to keep fighting these two.
Doduo gains a level. Capture or move on?

[OOC: *salutes* Yes, ma'am! =D Lol jk. . . Thanks for the reminder!]
Twizzler tilted his heads back and cried out jubilantly before plopping down on the ground, comepletely exhausted from the two battles he had just gone through. He was panting, and it didn't look like he was ready to walk for a little bit.
Chloe got to her feet, grunting as she turned her leg in the wrong direction, and joined her Pokemon by his side, setting a hand on his head. "Wonderful, Twizz! I sure did draw the lucky card when I got you as my starter," she crooned, stroking his feathers. "Now, let's get you a good rest," she mumurmed, returning Twizzler to his Pokeball.
Once her Doduo was tucked safetly away, Alivia looked down at the little Wooper. He had seemed so ready to fight, for reasons she was not quite sure of, and he seemed to be a pretty tough Pokemon. She took out an empty Pokeball, then tossed it at the Wooper, hoping that it could be hers.

Red light encased the Wooper as he was suckd inside the poke ball. The red and white orb twitched a few times before stopping and sitting still. The button on the ball lit up and made a ding! Chloe had successfully captured the Wooper.

Chloe walked over to the little Pokeball, moving the cane with her left leg every time she took a step, and bent down to pick it up, wincing slightly, but she still smiled. She had caught a Pokemon!
"I'll call you Kipper," she said more to herself than anyone else. She attached the Ball to her backpack strap, right next to Jayda, who was next to Twizzler's Ball. "Welcome to the team."
Looking around, Chloe realized just how lonely it was out in the giant route. It was made even worse by the fact that Twizzler was tired and her new Kipper had just fainted. She would have had Jayda sit out with her, but she was a Hoothoot, so she would have just been sleepy.
Sighing, she moved across the bridge that went over the rather small river. She stopped to look into the water for a few minutes, leaning on the guard rail instead of her cane. It bothered her hip a little bit.

In the bushes by the brook, a Pokémon had been quietly watching, observing the situation at hand. The girl had captured the Wooper, and that was a good feat. The creature in the bush knew that Wooper were hardy little things, but the girl's two headed freak Pokémon had done a pretty nifty job. From what the Pokémon knew, Wooper were immune to electric attacks, which put this Pokémon at a disadvantage. But that Pokémon was KO'ed, and so couldn't be used, unless the trainer had some magic potion to restore life. Heh, unlikely! So all that was left was that Doduo, it hoped. Easy pickings for this electric type. For of course, the pokémon in question was a Shinx. With a tiny roar, it leapt out, and looked meanacingly at Chloe, with it's intimidate ability. Sparks crackled on its cheeks, making him all the more scary.

Chloe turned at the sound of the roar, her brow furrowed in confusion, then she quailed at the sight of the Shinx, her shoulder hunching defensively and her grip tightening on her cane. Why did this little, cute Pokemon look so. . . so. . . angry?
Well, it obviously wanted a battle, and she wasn't about to let it attack her, but she needed to let her Wooper and Doduo rest. She would have to call on Jayda, though Chloe had been hoping she wouldn't have to use Jayda but for a last resort in Gyms-- she was at a higher level than the rest of her Pokemon, and they would need the experience, more.
Ah, well. An emergency is an emergency. Plus, an electric Pokemon would most definitely come in handy down the road. Her intentions set in catching the little Shinx, she tossed out Jayda's Pokeball.
A strangely colored Hoothoot appeared from the Ball. Instead of the normal brown coloring, it was green, which wasn't even the shiny version. Jayda was such a pretty Pokemon, Chloe almost loathed putting her into a battle.
"Use Hypnosis," she commanded. Chloe didn't want to make the Pokemon faint, so if she could just put him to sleep, then she would still have a chance to catch him, and Jayda wouldn't pull too far ahead of her other Pokemon in the level standings. She was all about having an even team.
Jayda hopped up, flapping her wings, and her eyes began to dull a light blue, hoping to mesmerize the opposing Pokemon into a deep sleep. He even started to hoot softly, as if singing a lulliby.

The Shinx was surprised to see another Pokémon enter the feild, and even more surprised to see it looked all green and sparkley. It was very pretty, but the little Shinx was sure he had seen that Pokémon before... Aha! One night when he had been adventuring with his buddies, they'd saw that strange Pokémon, standing one one leg. It had nearly put them all to sleep, but they'd managed to evade it by making all of his fur dazzle with electric light. The creature, being nocturnal and all, had very venerable eyes and was so dazzled that they had managed to escape. But that one didn't look green and sparkley...
Suddenly, the Hoothoot was flying upwards slightly, and gazing into his eyes. Shinx didn't want to look, he wanted to run, to attack, but the ethereal blue glare of the creatures eyes was too mesmerising. It was impossible to break eye contact... The small Pokémon felt his concious mind slipping away, he actually felt himself flitting between sleep and conciousness, in a mezanine state. He couldn't concentrate, couldn't remember how he had stopped himself from falling asleep last time. If only he had some powerfull electric attacks to fell the bird Pokémon... Electricity! That was it! With the last of his energy, Shinx concentrated his electrical power in his muscles and tensed them all at once, causing light to flash dazzlingly from his every pore. He remembered his mother telling him to do this if ever in danger.
Oh, he hoped it had stopped the green pokémon, because the shinx couldn't take much more of this hypnosis... A few more seconds...

Chloe started to relax as she noted that the Hypnosis seemed to be working on the little blue cat-like Pokemon. She assumed that this would be an easy catch, and then she would have a Pokemon that merely needed to wake up instead of one that was completely bushed from its last fight.
However, both she and her Pokemon reacted to the flash of light. She lifted her had to visor her eyes, but her Jayda gave a surprised hoot and shut her eyes tightly, hopping backwards as if to run from the flash of light.
Naturally, this meant that the Hypnosis had cut off.
Chloe recovered from the flash earlier than her Jade Hoothoot, and she sighed in frustration. Could nothing in her life be easy? Ah well, it couldn't be helped. "Jayda! Are you alright?" she called to her dazzled Pokemon.
Jayda shook her head to clear it of the dark spots that dotted her vision, and she narrowed her eyes at the Shinx. She was still having a bit of trouble seeing, so she hopped back a few more paces to wait for her vision to return before doing anything else.

The Shinx had vaguely felt a sense of being after the Hypnosis was cut off, and for a spare couple of moments, it all felt like a dream. Parting from the dream dimension to real life, his body was trembling in place for a couple of moments before snapping out of it. His eyes perked up with the realization of the situation around him, and he was back to sending the intimidating growls and sparks. And for the heck of it, shot out a Leer at the sparkly owl thing. His eyes were glowing a deathly glare at the Hoothoot, trying to shaken her enough to actually fear him. Though technically, all he was doing was lowering her defense, since her attack was already lowered it would be a good combination for him.
<I-I’ll get you…Just give me a sec.> He groaned, shaking his body like an earthquake was going on all around them. The tuff of fur on his head was now messed up, strands even getting in his eyes so he simply shoved them away with another shake of his head. He felt good now, ready to strike and run around like a lion.
Digging his claws into the dirt, he purred in pleasure. The cool grains of moist dirt beneath his paws were the perfect thing to fight of the blazing sun. One could say that the power of water based moved would be weakened just because of it. It didn’t concern him at the moment though, and boldly ran forward with his Tackle.

Everything was still pretty blurry for Jayda, but the dark spots had started to recede enough that she saw the Shinx coming for her. The Leer had succeeded in lowering her defence, but she didn't appear shaken by it on the outside.
The Jade Hoothoot spread her wings and tried to take off over the Shinx to avoid the Tackle, but he caught her in the lower half of her body and sent her spiraling across the ground. The initial attack didn't hurt so much, but landing did.
"Jayda! Are you alright?" Chloe called, her brow furrowed with concern. She knew her Hoothoot would be alright for a while. She was her strongest Pokemon. "Use Hypnosis again!"
Getting to her talons, Jayda faced the Shinx. Her vision had returned pretty much, so she focused in on his face and eyes, cooing a sort of lulliby again as her eyes began to emit a dull blue glow.

The success of the attack was satisfying to the small electric type, and it let out a playful bark, leaping in the air and spinning around so he was facing his foe once more. This was probably his downfall, because as soon as he had turned, his eyes had locked with that of the plump bird Pokémon, and once again its large eyes began to glow that same soothing blue, the ethereal glow that reached into his mind and stroked it into carefree submission. Seeing as he was already gazing deep into its eyes, Shinx was powerless to resist the simple yet effective Hypnosis attack. He could barely remember how to conjour up the electricity within his body when he slipped out of conciousness, and into sleep. But his sleep was reluctantly content one, and Shinx dreamt of exploring an abandoned power plant, full of electric power that was all atracted to him, increasing his power tenfold and making him the strongest Pokémon ever! Of course in the real world, sparks were flitting over his still form, making contact with him unadvisable.

Jayda kept the Hypnosis up for as long as she could hold it, and when the Shinx finally fell asleep the dull blue glow of her eyes started to dim until it was no longer there. She gave a little yawn: it was daytime so she should be asleep!
Chloe sighed and took out an empty Pokeball. It wasn't as good as the Shinx being unconcsious, but sleep was close to unconsciousness. . . She still had a good shot of catching it, even if it wasn't that high.
"Alright. . . Here goes nothing. . . ," she murmured quietly to herself as she tossed the Pokeball toward the Shinx. Jayda hopped over to her and turned to face the Shinx.

The Pokeball was thrown at the sleeping Shinx, sparks flickered off of his body like a nimble fire parading itself around the plains of black and blue. Opening on impact, he was sucked inside of the strange capsule where he could be minimized so he could be forced inside of it. His energy began to fight ferociously against the Pokeballs restraints, his dream turning into a nightmare that he wanted to fight against as more sparks were released. Some were strong enough to show on the brim of the Pokeball as it shook violently. It was a long fight...
Shake...Shakeshake...Shake...shake...shake...shakeshake...DING!
He was caught.

Chloe relaxed visibly and held her hand out for the Pokeball as Jayda flew over and dropped it in her palm. Chloe leaned on the guard rail and held her cane-hand up to give Jayda a perch. The Hoothoot landed on her arm and looked up at her, head tilted.
"You were great, Jayda! Thanks for being such a great sport!" she cooed, touching her nose gently to the owl's beak, then looked at her new Pokeball. "I'll call him Static."
She put Static's Pokeball away, then took out Jayda's and returned her Jade Hoothoot, giving her a few more words of praise before she disappeared. She tucked it away with Static's, then started to limp across the bridge, hoping to find either the town or another Pokemon.

In the center of the bride rested a Slakoth sunbathing all of the precious sun she could still get. She was half awake, only resting her eyes with pleasure as the wooden bridge heated up around her, her long claws slowly closed together, as she huddled up into a ball. A cute little thing to have as a pet . They weren’t the most noteworthy fighters however; their natural laziness and lack of movement often got in the way, and was pretty much always their downfall. She had heard the limped footsteps and didn’t even bother to look up to see the limping trainer; instead, she stretched all of the way across the short area of the bridge. Horizontally, that is. She didn’t seem to know or care if she was in the trainer’s way. But she also wouldn’t seem to care or know if the trainer walked over her or challenged her to a battle.
