Chloe stopped a foot away from the Slakoth, blinking down at it. For such a little Pokemon, it sure did take up a lot of space. She looked along the width of the bridge, looking for a little space she could step in. . .
Nope. Not at all.
She sighed. She didn't really want to fight the Slakoth, nor did she feel like catching it, either, but stepping over the little Pokemon would take a lot of strength. . . No matter which foot she stepped over the Pokemon with first, she would have to shift all of her weight to her cane and crippled leg.
It would only be for a second or so, but it was still going to hurt.
She started with her bad leg first, lifting it and stepping over the Slakoth, trying to be quiet as to not wake the creature. She leaned heavily on her cane, then brought her other foot around to step over Slakoth.
Looking over her shoulder and smiling slightly, Chloe continued on, limping a little worse than she had been. She deliberated about getting Twizzler out to ride him, but it wasn't that bad yet.

Further down the path, the road forked. At one point, there had been just one path, but someone had planted an extremely large oak tree in the centre of it, forcing people to go round it. But more trees had sprug up behind it, eventually creating two paths separated by a wide run of thick foliage. But since then, a Spinarak had made it's home there. Stretching between both paths was a wide web, reaching from high on the ground to the floor. On the large oak sat a Spinarak, sleeping. But threads of string were attatched to it's feet, and if anything broke the web, he would wake up and realise. ::spinarak:: SLEEP

Chloe stopped several feet away from the giant tree and stared at it, her shoulders slumping, and looking totally crestfallen. How was she going to get through that web? She started to get out Twizzler's Pokeball, then she noted the Spinarak.
Well, that would be a little easier. . . Maybe. Or maybe she would have to call on her Pokemon anyway.
Either way, Chloe approached the path on the left and lifted her cane up to poke at the web, hopefully waking up the little spider Pokemon so she could get him to clear a path.
"Psst! Wake up, please! I need to get through," she said loudly, poking at the web and pulling on her cane when the sticky thread tried to grab it. She didn't like disturbing sleeping Pokemon, but she had to in this case. She might as well do it gently, instead of tearing through the web.

(( -wonders why Twizzler is still at level 5-
He should at least be at 6. He gained a level from that first battle with the Ekans. ))
The Spinarak felt the gentle tug against its fragile webbing and shot up with an evil stare at the offender. On his back was a painted face, at the moment it looked like a smiling happy face. But within seconds it turned around, and that face looked pretty darn mad at the person who woke him up. With the help of his long and tender legs, he scuttled lower to the ground to shoot out a blind String Shot at the girl, hopefully to chase her away.
Normally he wasn’t the violent Pokemon that one might think from a bug type, but he had just woke up by a complete stranger. Needless to say, there was reason to be angry. The human race had their own homes and Pokemon had their own, so there was no reason to butt in and prance around through their living rooms.

[OOC: Oh right! =O Thank you! I forgot to edit that! ><]
Chloe gave a strangled squeal, and although the String Shot barely missed her. It was more out of surprise than fear, she had not expected an attack. She had tried to be subtle about waking the little Spinarak!
Unfortunately, in her surprise her grip had loosened on her cane just enough that it fell to the ground and she tumbled right after it, crumpling to the ground with another squeak, only this one was in pain. She held her leg and looked at the Spinarak in bewilderment.
"Sorry! Sorry! I just wanted to pass through!" she said defensively through clenched teeth, her hands gripping her leg tightly. If she hadn't been wearing pants, her nails would have dug into her skin.
She thought about calling out Twizzler and having him protect her, but she didn't want to fight the Spinarak or scare it into attack again, she just wanted to pass by!

The Spinarak held no mercy for the newbie trainer, and shot out a threatening hiss in reply to her words. His sharp pincers tapped each other to create some type of ‘click’ sound to show how upset he was over the situation. <And ruin my life’s work? Never!> He cried out with a stomp of his foot against the tree bark.
His temper was rising, and his face was beginning to turn into a puffy red. Once more, he wasn’t a violent Pokemon. Which was why he wasn’t gnawing off the girl’s head right about now, he wanted to avoid violence if possible. But he wanted to defend his territory no matter what, even if it happened to bother every other traveler that needed to pass on by.

Chloe lifted her hands defensively, though she didn't really want to take her hands off her throbbing leg. It seemed to be the only way to quell her pain; cut off the circulation.
"Hey! Hey! Ok! Hang on there, little dude!" she said, scooching away from the obviously furious little creature. "I'll just go around! Promise! I did't want you to destroy it or anything! I didn't want to distroy it, either, it's quite artistic, that's why I woke you!"
She tensed and leaned away from the little Spinarak, ready fot the vicious rebuttle that she thought she was coming.

The Spinarak’s voice from earlier had carried onto the winds, echoing out until all was quiet, waiting for Chloe’s response to his angry protests. His eyes narrowed down as he watched her helplessly try to defend herself, but he knew that it was simply useless. There was no getting around it, he was right and she was wrong. Sometimes one had to deal with never recognizing their faults in things, and he saw this in her.
<Don’t flatter me. Just leave and get-> He was cut off, for he suddenly wasn’t on the tree any longer. The only thing that remained in his place was a brown feather, and a squeak of surprise that was carried away into the air…
What the heck was that?
A hungry Spearow had been eyeing its prey for quite some time now, and was impatient with this trainer for not leaving. It liked to hunt alone, and in peace, but she was desperate, and needed the food now. The poor Spinarak was in her claws, and she was already on one of the higher branches eager to eat her new meal. Well, you could rescue the Spinarak, or let nature keep moving on and hurry on your path.

Chloe sat there, staring at the bird and her prey, dumbfounded into paralysis. Her first reaction was save the little Spinarak, even if he had just been attacking her. . . But then again the Spearow just looked a little hungry. . . But then again she didn't like to watch Pokémon eating other Pokémon. . . It made her think of canabolism. . . Then again it was a bird Pokémon and a spider Pokémon. . . Shaking her head to clear her indecision, she decided to save the Spinarak, only she wasn't going to say that she was saving him. She would pretend she had no clue what the Spearow wanted and just saw this as a training opportunity. She tossed out Static's Pokeball and hoped the little Pokémon was awake. "Hey! Let's fight!" Chloe called, staggering to her feet as the little, blue, cat-like Pokémon appeared from his Pokeball. She seriously hoped that it would be awake, and even if it wasn't she was going to make it wake up. Static grumbled to himself and rolled over onto his back, his limbs hanging in the air. He totally wasn't awake at all. Chloe smacked her forhead with her palm, then yelled to her new Pokémon. "Hey lazy ones, wake up and use Tackle!" she commanded, raising her voice. The little Shinx rolled over again and blinked a few times, looking around. He had been dreaming so peacefully. . . Well, not really. . . That was when he remembered. . . He had been caught! He had a trainer! What? He jumped to his feet, looking around wildly. Now what was going on? This wasn't the part of the forest he had been in earlier. . . He glanced over his shoulder and saw Chloe there. . . The girl he had been battling. . . The girl who had caught him! He turned and saw the bird and the spider on the tree. . . Was she asking to battle them? "C'mon, Static! Tackle on the Spearow! Please?" Chloe asked, glad that her Pokémon had woken up. Well. . . She'd said please. Static turned to look at the Spearow, then shot toward the tree. It was pretty high up, but he thought that he would be able to do something about that. . . Knock it out of the tree, maybe? He lunged forward and rammed his shoulder into the tree with all of his weight and momentum. The tree shuddered, but if it at all bothered the Spearow, it was unknown at the time. Static just kept ramming into it, even if it was starting to give his shoulder a small bruise. . . He wanted to make up for losing to the girl in the first place.

The Spinarak had been rolling his eyes at the girl, completely oblivious to the danger looming. He had been snapping back, when within moments he felt razor sharp talons pierce his sides, drawing blood as he was quickly swept away to a random tree branch. Dazed and disoriented, he struggled vainly attempting to escape.
He didn't know where he was, but heck, he knew he wanted out of the talons. Unable to escape, he yelled out in desperation, hoping the girl he had been yelling at ealier was still there. <Hey! HEEEEELP! I'm sorry i yelled! BUT HELP ME! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!> he yelled in a high falsetto. He was unaware of the girl hesitating below, trying to decide wheather to help or not.
The girl sent out a pokeball, the Spinarak heard the soft ping, but he wasn't the only one. The ravanous Sparrow had been eyeing his prey happily, far past ready to sink his beak into the flesh of the bug pokemon.
A sudden, violent jarring of the tree caused the flying type to lose his balance and plummet off the branch, his claws being occupied with holding the Spinarak. Squawking in suprise, he fluttered his wings and let go of the bug type in shock. The Spinarak plummeted to the ground, and lay there stunned.
The Sparrow let out an angry cry, diving for the pokemon, only vaguely noticing the Shinx hovering nearby. He was not going to let his only meal of the day escape.

Chloe smiled happily. She had succeeded in freeing the little spider from the hungry bird, but now she had to keep it free. She reacted quickly to what the Spearow was doing. "Static! Watch your timing and use Tackle on that Spearow! Please?"
Growling, the little Shinx lowered the upper half of its body so that his chest was touching the ground, his rump in the air. He tensed his muscles and waited for the Spearow to get in position.
Once at the right point in the dive, just close enough to the ground and the Spinarak to get the best results, Static launched himself in the air, turning slightly to attempt to throw his shoulder into the bird Pokemon's body, hoping to knock it off course.

The Spearow was fixated on his prey, his beak snapping open and shut with a screeching growl tearing it's way towards the Spinarak. The beady eyes of the bird quickly flickered over to the girl, but he paid no mind, knowing that he would get out of harms way before that electric pokemon could even touch him.
Talons so close to the bug pokemon, he could just barely gaze the skin of the pokemon he was extremely excited at the prospect of his meal of the day. The meal he would literally kill for. Blind fury envloped him as a sudden jarring forced him back, knocking him against the unforgiving ground.
His feathers were ruffled as he lay upon the ground, as he twiched in anger, a vain appearing on his forehead as he quickly lept to his feet. Spearrows were not well known for their kindness, but for their fiercness and the Shinx was about to learn that a hard way. With a fierocous cry, the bird pokemon darted towards the electric pokemon his beak glowing a bright blue with the power of the Peck attack.
The Spinarak managed to stumble onto his six legs, tottering dazed away from where he thought the bug eating bird was. Instead of crawling towards safety, he stumbled into a small hole, quickly landing with a loud thud on the bottom of the pit. The green pokemon let out a moan. Preferring to stay there in the safety of the hole than to go out into the battlefield.

The force of his leap made Static land practically next to the little bird. He had jumped back a few paces to get some momentum room for another Tackle, but had not expected that Spearow to charge in return.
Static cried out and tumbled to the side, rolling along the ground. He stopped because of friction and a giant tree, groaning as he got to his paws.
Shaking his head to clear the stars clouding his vision, Static looked around for the aggravating little bird Pokemon and spotted him just a few short steps away. Bunching his muscles, Static didn't even wait for another command from his trainer. He just leaped forward for another Tackle attack.
Chloe was too busy watching the Spinarak to really pay annention, anyway. She saw it scuttle away and then disappear into the ground. Her eyes widened, and concern for the little thing made her walk toward the area, carefully of course.
She peered down when she reached a hole, and spotted the Spinarak inside. "Are you ok?" she called down to it, glancing fleetingly at her Pokemon. She had to make sure Static did all right, too.

From within the hole, Spinarak looked up. He was glad that the girl was there, for surely the Spearow would be too afraid to come near a human, even if it was smart enough to realise he was hiding here. Sure, trainers could catch you, but that Spearow was gonna EAT him! He knew who's side he was on. Suddenly, the girl spoke. "Are you ok?" Almost inaudibly, Spinarak replied. It wasn't really a word or sentance, more of a comfortable moan. But it got the message across well enough, in his eyes.
Meanwhile, the two battlers were locked in a feirce battle of skill and wit. Well, not really. When it came down to it, it was just a contest to see if the Shinx's brawn could match the insane Spearows hunger induced rage. Spearow wheeled around as Static was hurtling towards him, and barely had time to caw angrily before he was tackled to the ground. And when he opened his eyes again, water was falling from the sky. It was raining. The rain began to get heavier and heavier, and the sky began to darken. Ominous grey clouds had drifted subtley overhead, and every now and then, a loud rumble could be heard, followed by a sharp fork of lightning.
Spearow knew that waterlogged feathers were dangerous, and he would almost certainly have a disadvantage here now. Shuddering with rage, Spearow took to the skies, soaring off without hesitation towards his nest. He left with but a single, venemous warning. "I'll be back!"

Chloe nodded to the Spinarak, glad that it seemed to be alright for the time being. She sat back on the ground, close to the hole, and made sure her Shinx was doing ok.
She had turned to watch the battle just in time to see the Spearow fluttering off, quite the angry look on it's sharp features. She shuddered, not just from the look, but from the rain that had succeeded in soaking her to the bone. It had already soaked through the heavy jacket she wore, seeing as she was always cold.
Static growled at the Spearow as it flew off. How dare it run away from the fight? Clearly it was he who was going to win! Huffing, Static trotted back to his trainer, looking proud at himself. If the Spearow wanted to run from his awesomeness, so be it.
"Great job, Static," Chloe said, taking out the Shinx Pokeball. His fur was already completely water-logged, and she didn't want him to catch a cold. "You deserve a rest." A red laser came from the center of the Pokeball and sucked the Shinx back into the container.
Even though she was soaking wet, Chloe new that rain could easily fill a hole. She leaned over the hole with the Spinarak inside and gave it a half-hearted wave before lowering her cane. "Come on up and we can find some shelter!" she called over the pounding of the loud rain. Every once in a while tremors would work their way up her spine, attempting to warm her rapidly cooling body.

Ah great. Rain. On top of annoying humans, Demented Spearow that wanted to eat him and that annoying electric type, it was raining. And he was in a hole. But before rain could get in, a shadow loomed over him. And before he knew it, there was a hand against him.
He wanted to bite it, really. But against his better judgement, he crawled onto it. Better being alive and captured, than dead and free.

Chloe hauled the spider out of the hole and set it down on the ground. "There you go. You better go find somewhere to take shelter before you catch a cold," she said to the little Spinarak before struggling to her feet.
Glancing over her shoulder, Chloe smiled at the little Poison Type, then hobbled off the path and leaned against a tree, hunching her shoulders against the freezing cold wind and rain. The trees did little to stay the downpour, but she was sheilded from the wind chill a little bit.
"Stupid rain. . . Stupid wind. . . . Stupid weather. . . ," she muttered to herself, setting her cane underneath her and hugging her knees against her chest. She shivered violently, but she had gotten a little warmer.
Eh. . . I'm sure this can't last for very long. . . At the very least I'll just sleep here for the night. . . No way I'm walking out in this. . . , she thought to herself, glad that her vicious tremors had at least started to become a little more mild. They were the shivers than came deep within her body, though, like her innards themselves were shaking, so each quake caused her a bit of pain.

The Spinarak stayed in his small dry area, looking anxiously at the human. Sure, it was against his very nature to try and help this human, he was more inclined to just move as far away as he could from Chloe. But then, she did sort-of save him from that insane Spearow.
She wasn't that far-off, just a few steps away actually. He was more concerned with the wind blowing him away. He held onto the few plants that sprouted on the path, using two of his legs to cling onto the plant while his other four kept on the ground.
He made a sort of clicking sound that was his way of speech. <"Follow me. I know a cave we can stay in."> He clicked over the blowing wind, wondering if the human would follow him, or if she could hear him for that matter.
Damned weather.

Chloe, huddled up in her tiny little ball, knees against her chest, blinked at the little Spinarak. She knew a little Pokespeech, but she was by no means fluent. Still, she had gotten the gist of what the Pokemon wanted.
"You. . . Want to help me?" she asked for clarification, tilting her head to the side. She looked around, thinking that whatever the Spinarak had to offer would be better than staying out in the rain and catching Hypothermia.
"Well, alright. Lead the way," she muttered, staggering to her feet by using her cane as an anchor. She held her jacket tighter to her body, trying to trap any heat she could.

<Yes I want to help you, you've help me so in return I'll help you,> The Spinarak replied softly, thinking if he should take his offer back or not. <Come on now, before the weather really starts to get bad!> He shouted over to Chole as he released his grip from the plant, and started leading Chole a narrow path.
<Please keep up!> He shouted back to Chole, hoping that she would be able to keep up with him with a problem. After jumping a few muddy water puddles, and climbing over a few slippery, overgrown grass and plants, the petite spider pokemon soon revealed a massive dark cave, that seemed somewhat cozy. It just needed a little light or something right? <Sorry about the poor lighting, but this is better than standing out there in the storm,> he sighed.
