The tiny pokemon bounded into the tall grass, eyes watchful. It saw a butterfly and proceeded to attack, trying to hit the tiny, frail creature with a smack of its paw. The butterfly, unharmed, floated off on the breeze. Lyra scowled, but continued forward, making the grass rustle.
Finally, she peeked outwards, to watch passing trainers or pokemon. It was pretty obvious the young Eevee was bored, and she yawned, showing off small but pointy teeth. She turned and began to move forward again, pressing onwards. Lyra always moved near the path, never deeper in, just in case another wild pokemon was there, and wanted to harm her.
((Trainers, if you try to catch/battle her, she'll most likely run away))

Unfortunately for Lyra, she was found by a pokemon. Fortunately, it was quite friendly in nature, and wouldn't hurt a fly. The pokemon in question was a buneary, and it hopped excitedly towards the eevee, cocking it's head as it examined the fox-like creature. <Hello, I don't believe we've met. My name is Evira. And yours?>

Poor Lyra, taken by surprise despite her acute hearing, began to stutter nonsense words. Finally, she regained her senses, and managed to blurt out,
<L-Lyrasen, but you c-can call me Lyra.>
The eevee took a deep breath, as though to steady herself. She always had trouble with strangers- Even when she was much younger and didn't know to avoid them. She hated confronting new people, and new things. They could never convince her that change was good. But now wasn't a time to take a trip down memory lane.
She quickly stopped day-dreaming about her previous life, and tried to gain a hold on reality.
Ok, so this buneary-Evira, was it?- Just said hi to you. Think of something better to say. Think, think!
This was almost worse than a pokemon battle for awkward Lyra.

ooc|| Lulz. Your avatar reminds me of bacon. >D
bic|| The lapine of chocolate and beige arched a brow, eyes of docile obsidian riveted inquisitively to the somewhat awkward Eevee. Gee. Had she done something wrong? The little fox appeared quite hunted, and was stuttering vigorously as a broken record player.
[ Hey, you okay? ] Evira asked tentatively. [ It's real nice to meet ya, Lyrasen. Lovely name~ ] There -- mayhaps if she sprinkled a dab of sugar onto her dialogue, the Eevee would stop acting so oddly. It sounded like a charming plan to the Buneary. Then again, she was bearer of a rather distinct one-track mind.

<Y-yeah. I'm just not used to new people. Erm, thanks.>
Now that her slight shock had gone, she felt it easier to talk. On the subject of names, Lyra never really liked hers. It may be pretty, but it had been long, and when she was younger she had found it very hard to say. Plus, it had no meaning. It gave her nothing to strive to become- If her name meant beautiful, she might damn well try to at least be pretty. If it meant strength, she's attempt at being strong. But Lyrasen... Lyrasen, now that she thought of it, left her with no set goal. Free to choose her own fate.
But, of course, with no choices, then she had no idea what she wanted to be. She had no idea what she wanted to be when she grew up. Lyra wanted to evolve, maybe into Eerieon, maybe into Umbreon, but she didn't know- When you're this young, most pokemon know what they wanna be when they grow up. But Lyra had never actually been normal. But what is normal anymore, anyway? Everyone has a different perspective of 'normal.' It's another useless adjective.

And about that time came walking Keeva and his little entorouge(sp?), walking merrily down the path of the route. Eerieon was as his side, walking on the air only inches above the ground. Vulpix, too small to keep up, was in his arms, and the Farfetch'd was perched upon his shoulder. Why crowd them in Pokeballs? It was a nice winter day, no need for them to be inside!
His sensitive ears picked up conversation before they came into sight, and the black wolfish ears stretched forward a tad. Eevee, and.. Buneary? The Eevee was definately unusual. One didn't see those wild much anymore. The Morph glanced down to his Eerieon for a moment. Well.. it was an evolution, perhaps she should lead the way so not to scare it so bad. Yes...
"Eerie, lead for a while, make sure the Eevee and Buneary ahead aren't scared by our presence."
The Eon nodded once, and headed out before them. Keeva lagged a while purposely, his Vulpix, Katje, glanced up to him curiously. "Why are we slowing down?" She cooed.
"Because, I'm a fan of Eevees and their evolutions. If we don't scare this one, or its friend, it may be able to join our team." Then, silence again.
Ahead, The Eerieon slowly made her appearance to the two Pokemon, stoping a good, safe distance from both of them. For a while, she stood there, waiting so they could notice her first, catch her scent. A beautiful thing she was, and not much bigger than the Eevee, really.

This time the small pokemon's ears were pricked, and it heard the trainer talking. After he said "team," she let out a yelp and dove further into the grass, and crouched down as far as she could. She heard the Eerieon come up behind her, and curled up in a little ball.
Then she let out a word too foul for her own age. Lyra had always been somewhat foul-mouthed, so this wasn't a surprise. But the fact that the human could understand the pokemon scared her the most.
<Rain rain go away, come again some other day...> She muttered thoughtlessly, inaudible. Finally, Lyra gathered up the courage to speak.
<W...what do you want?>
She winced as the words came out harsh and unfeeling.

The Eerieon watched curiously as the little pre-evolved form of herself cowered in the grass. She never was that scared as an Eevee... but that was also many, many years ago when pokemon training wasn't such a big deal. Transparent, glowing flames of blue danced around her neck, as if they were the spirits she had gathered and watched over protectively. Blackened eyes stared at the little creature, her large, fuzzy ears drawing back when the foul language was shot in her direction.
"Child," The voice came not from her mouth, but from her mind. A whimsical, gentle voice. Perhaps one might assume an angel would have. "Why so much fear? We simply wish a friend... since when did the days come when one of our own Kin would cower to another?" Inquizitively, her head tilted.
The purple-pink hued creature touched ground finally, then lowered to her haunches to sit, perhaps this way to be less intimidating. Keeva was approaching from the back, finally, but upon seeing the reaction of this Eevee to her appearance alone... well, she was afraid the creature might have a heart attack upon seeing her 'master'.
Keeva, stay where you are and find a place to rest. This little one is very scared and untrusting... stay upwind though, at least she will know there is no trickery behind this.
For his mind only, she called to him. Immediately he stopped, and turned off the path to find a nice spot to sit, which happen to be a rather flat rock, perhaps once in the bed of a river. his scent was still upwind, and could easily be carried to the two below. This, however, only proved the Eerieon was no liar.
"Perhaps you would enjoy meeting our friends. A young Vulpix about your age, as well as a Farfetch'd. We have all come to enjoy one another quite a bit. Oh.. a recent addition is a rarity much like myself, and she is quite lovely. This is only if you would be comfortable with more than just me."

The eevee shudder involuntarily, but stood up. She managed to respond without a shudder, for the Eerieon really did not seem menacing.
<Er... Sorry, I'm just really shy...>
It was as close to explaining herself Lyra was going to get. She found it easier to respond to a conversation than to actually make one. She was young, and maybe that would change someday. Finally, after minutes of thought, she answered back.
<I... I think I'd like to meet the others.>
It was almost a whisper, but Lyra had always valued friends, even though out of three friends she had back at 'home', only one was a good friend. The others liked to insult her, although it was all in good fun. Lyra couldn't remember ever doing anything wrong to them. She was sure that if she had, she'd remember it.
There... There had been a Ponyta, a Poochyena, and a Growlithe. All three of them. Lyra sighed in her head. She did miss them. Back to reality, Lyra. She told herself.

The Eerieon smiled warmly before looking over her shoulder soundlessly. A silent request for the team to be released and come to her spot. Keeva would just have to wait a while, until this little one was comfortable.
The first to appear was a little Vulpix, about the Eevee's size and age. Her little legs couldn't carry her very fast, and much like a fox she bounded and leapt her way there. Next in glided a Farfetch'd, who landed first on the Vulpix's fluffy tail, then hopped onto the ground. Third was an elegant unicorn of sorts, with a flowing mane in shades of blue, similar to a Rapidash, though much prettier. She dipped her horned head to the Eevee in greeting. Last was a rather frightening looking thing. A Raptor with claws that seemed they could rip bones right out of socket. However, it was only a day or so old, and very litle still. He 'chirped' slightly and teetered on his two legs. The team of Five was now in a nice array infront of the Eevee, and Eerie could not be happier to introduce them.
"Katje, Cael, Snowscape, and Alpha. And I, of course, am Eerie."
The eon took a deep bow for a moment, then straightened to sit again.
"Our Human-creature is still down the road, and he will not come until you are ready to meet him. He might look a little mean, but our Human is very gentle, and has saved many lives of Pokemon." Fondly, the Eerieon spoke of him, but then the little Vulpix peeped up, skittering towards the Eevee, playfully bumping into her.
"Yes! he gots in trouble when he got me!" She giggled, wiggling around. "But he's sooo nice! Why you all alone? Dontcha have a human-thing?"

Lyra jumped back when the vulpix bumped into her. Then Katje asked her a question. Why was it hard to answer? She searched her mind for a proper answer. The small pokemon took a deep breath. Somehow, she just knew that it would be a little hard to get along with the vulpix.
<I... I did before, but I lived at a Day-Care Center, and then they kicked me out.>
She said the last three words harsher than she meant to, and winced. Then her eyes set on Snowscape, and she immediately envied the icy pokemon. She was beautiful, even better than a Rapidash, which was what Tori- her ponyta friend- had said she'd one day evolve into. Lyra couldn't help but think about what she really wanted to evolve into, so she stopped thinking about it.
((Gah, short. Sorry, I just find it kinda hard to RP pokemon after RPing wolves almost my entire online career...))

Eerie touched the Vulpix with a small, dainty paw and shook her head softly.
Behave, Katje. This one is too easily scared.
To the mental decipline, Katje shrunk back a little and ploped down on her rear. Snowscape was the next to speak up, her breaths frosting the air it touched.
"Why would they do such a thing?" The Freezian neighed and shook her head. "Daycares are never supposed to release a Pokemon until it's owner comes back, and even then they are to adopt it out!" Her long tail, tipped in the colors of the brilliant mane, lashed a bit. Obviously the Mare didn't like the idea.
Cael, the Farfetch'd, was a bit cynical though. "Not all humans are good. Don't surprise me one bit they did that!"
Eerie hissed softly to Cael, "But our trainer is no human, either. He shares his blood with Pokemon. That is what makes him special. He is out defender."
Eerie looked oh so proud to admit that, and she was. There were too few humans and Morphs that would readily defend their teams and risk their own life. She had Seen Keeva do such things, and stand up for wild Pokemon simply kicked aside once they were beaten, like trash. Now, her gaze returned to the Eevee, softening again.
"So you were used to humans feeding you and taking care of you, and having a shelter, but now you are alone, and afraid..."

Lyra blinked, a simple motion.
<You could say that...The problem was my trainer didn't want me, because I was born there, and I don't think the daycare owners liked me much...>
Finally, she remembered why- Or more likely she knew why. She and her friends had pulled some hijinks around the Center often. Her friend Tori's trainer had come back one time, and when the trainer tried to pet her, the ponyta let her flames burn the trainer. The DayCare man knew the ponyta meant to do this as a joke. He knew them all too well. However, the trainer stormed off, angry. One time the DayCare Lady had put new cement down in the front of the building, and Lyra and her friends had gone up to it, leaving their marks there. There were many others, but maybe that was why she was kicked out. Maybe she deserved it. Then why weren't her other friend's kicked out?
The answer was simple. Because she had been the leader of it all. Maybe the DayCare man only employed that pokemorph to see what the pokemon were up to, and the PokeMorph kid had ratted them out. Snitch. Lyra gritted her teeth in her mind, trying not to show her distress. So maybe it was her fault, so what? It had never harmed anyone... Right? Right?
Oh boy, if I had to explain this to my parents.
The thought of her parents once more brought her jolting back to reality, for they were the two pokemon she missed the most.

Eerieon watched the little thing curiously, trying to pick up on the thoughts going through her head. Eerie wasn't exactly a mind reader, but she could usually pick up on the feelings of thoughts, and asume from there what it was about.
"You miss friends and family..." Commented the spiritual being with a slightly tilted head. The others had gone rather silent. "Why not adopt new friends, and new family? They can be even better than the original."
Most of them nodded, the unusual ones, anyway. Vulpix and The little Raptor were too young to really know the diference. Katje had been raised in a lab, and Alpha only hatched a day ago, so they couldn't really relate that easily.
"There is still a spot open with us, deary. Keeva would love you, and so will we." Commented the Freezian gently. "The world is a scary place without friends to back you up"

The eevee put one paw behind her, tensing to flee. Her old shyness was returning again. If they really got to know her, they'd realize just how cynical she could be. Plus sarcastic. Can't forget sarcasm- It was practically her being. She had always told Tori that she had enough sarcasm for the both of them. Then she subconsciously replied dryly,
<The world is always a scary place, you just have to look in the right places. I doubt many walk out their front door and say, "I might die today.">
The small pokemon clamped her mouth shut. It had come out wrong. But it felt good, saying what she felt.
<I'm really... not sure...>
Finally. A straight-out reply. It had never really sounded like much fun to Lyra, training. She had no idea what it was like inside a pokeball, either. For all she knew it was cramped and stuffy. Or it brainwashed pokemon. Why else would the wild ones give in?
(once more, short. it's 12:00 AM. sorry.)

Cael peeped up, smacking the ground with his Leek as he demanded the floor.
"Death comes to us all! It is a way of life and a part of it. We will all someday die as will our trainer. No use in fearing for it!"
The team nodded in unison upon his observation, and then it was yet again Eerieon who spoke.
"It is simply better to have friends to guide you through life, to keep you from premature death. As it is just as nice to have a friend waiting for you on the other side, to guide you into peace." This, coming from a being who was basically a reaper of sorts. If there wasa soul that needed to be herded into the afterlife, then it was she who would transcend and lead them, a wonderful job that she absolutely loved. She could only hope when her time came, that one would be so kind as to return the favor.
"Would you like to meet our human, dearest? Perhaps then you could decide if you would rather be alone, or come with us." Snowscape tossed her head, beautiful mane flowing as she did.

Lyrasen sighed. Things just got more difficult.
"I... I can't say I fear death. I just fear what would happen to my friends if I died. If I died, I'm afraid they'd be really depressed. I don't want to that to them."
That was out of her system. If she had no friends, Lyra would gladly accept death as a fact of life. Because you can't have the good without the bad, you can't have life without death, you can't have... Nevermind. You get the point. Then she answered the Freezian's question.
"Yes. I think I would like to."
When she put it that way, it did seem better...
(I think I'm losing my muse. It's been a long, crazy day.)

Eerieon nodded once, then silence fell. One would assume they would have to fetch him, but her psychic abilities enabled her to call him, no matter where he was, as long as he was alive. And soon enough he came walking down the path they sat aside on. Keeva was a tall man and settled into his years. Stark white and black hair contrasted vivdly against eachother, a long, but thin tail of the black part was separated with a small golden clasp. Bright green eyes were observant, and held a sort of passion in them, almost an anger. Some sort of burning desire that hid behind the small pupil. His eyes were intense, and many people, or creatures, could not hold contact with them. His skin was a nice, warmed brown-gold, honey and sunkissed, but also a bit on the rough side. He was a man of the outdoors, and judging by the hard lines that were beginning to set into his face, he had been weathered by nature herself. On his right ear was a collaberation of rings. a couple of loop, a couple clasps, and a stud. The other one was free of any holes.
Attire worn consisted of some self-made shirt of some sort. A cashmere soft suede leather, with fur of some sort along the neck, arms, and bottom hem. There were no sleeves on it, as it cut off at the shoulders. It seemed the cold weather didn't bother him much at all. The pants on his bottom half were similar material, and the fur rimmed the hem around his knees where they cut off. Leather string was laced through the sides of each leg, allowhing him to either bunch them up to his knees, or let them down to his ankles, depending on the weather. Then, on his feet were some leather, soft-soled shoes. A black canine tail pushed through a hole in the back of the pants, and the ears which the earrings adorned were black and canine as well.
Something about him screamed 'feral', and far from human. Though, when he was forced to dress up, he could be quite the handsome human indeed.
A fanged smile inched across his lips once the Eevee came into view. Keeva would admit he had a soft spot for them in particular. Frankly, for how bold they were, and secondly, because of the unique evolution chain. He had always wanted to have a breeding program strictly for Eevees and their evolutions. Ahh, the joy he could bring to people once adopting them out!
His team parted to allow him through, and as he approached, he kneeled down to be as level as he could be with the small foxish thing. A man of 6'5 couldn't easily be level with something that didn't even come up to the middle of his shin. Carefully, and slowly, he extended his hand for the critter to smell, and then would probably surprise her once more with his ability to talk directly to her in those smooth, deep tones.
"Greetings, little one. I am Keeva. Do you have a name?"

Lyrasen watched as the figure approached. She urged herself to recover the blank stare she had taught herself only a short while ago. Her eyes unfocused. They weren't quite crossed, but she still looked stupid and vacant. Only when he spoke to her did she regain the look of intellegence usually housed in her.
<Wuh... Wuh?>
She quickly regained her composition and managed to say something else.
<Of course I have a name. You think I went my entire life without a name?> She sat down gruffly and began licking her paw. For some reason, her shyness had evaporated, and been replaced with her rather fiery nature. <My name is Lyrasen.>
Noting the hand, she ignored it with contempt. She wanted to prove she wasn't something to be pushed around, like everyone had thought back at... Back at home, she thought guiltily. Then again, if she acted rude to this... human now, she might not get a home later on. Then again, she could always travel around the world...
The thoughts swirled around in her head, confusing her.
