Slowly walking over to the pile of snow the ball had fallen into, Soren picked up the item and held it in his hands, wiping the melted snow that clung to the metal sides.
Thank you, he thought, looking up at the sky where the Hoppip could still barely be seen.
"Well, now that that's done, we'll have to find a pokemon to really battle now, to train ourselves," he told his pokemon. "In the meantime, you guys can go back into the pokeball, where it's warmer... Return!"
All three pokemon returned to their respective pokeballs, which Soren put away. He made sure to stay alert, just in case any wild pokemon came by he could battle. Allyra desperately needed to train to be able to use attacking moves so that she could defend herself and Meris needed to grow stronger to be able to rejoin his flock!

Quietly, hidden behind a snowy bush was a red and white bird pokemon. This bird pokemon wasn't like most bird pokemon, instead of flying into a more a warmer location like most bird pokemon would, this little guy seem to be enjoying the snow.
<He, He!> The pokemon giggles, taking out a small snowball from out of it's bushy, white tail. <Take that!> The Pokemon shouted, tossing the snowball at Soren.

Soren received the snowball on his shoulder. The impact wasn't as light as he would have hoped it was and it kind of hurt. He wondered whether the bird pokemon was more intent on playing, or fighting. In both cases though, he thought that he should battle it anyways, starting with a little snowball fight -hey, he'd never had one of those in the past, and it seemed pretty fun- and if it escalated into a pokemon battle, he'd go along with it.
Meris and Elsu wasn't really suited to play in the snow, so he left the Wingull in his pokeball as Allyra was asked to come out. The Spoink happily started to bounced in the snow, its long tail making sure that it stayed on top of the snow.
"You see that red thing over there? It seems to want to have a little snowball fight with us," he said. "Why don't we indulge him?"
He gave her a snowball.
The spoink stared at it for a few seconds before throwing it in the air, and then using its flexible tail to spring it over to the Delibird.

<Deli!> The pokemon giggled, getting hit by Allyra's snow ball. <I see how you wanna play!> The Delibird shouted, in a playful tone. The Delibird slowly began to walk out from behind the bush, and quickly thrown THREE snowballs.

Soren let out a laugh, the sound something he was rather unfamiliar with. It felt really wonderful, as if all the worries in the world just disappeared with those sounds. He was hit by one of the snowballs, Allyra getting a face full of snow as well. The last one was a miss, but just barely. The bird had a rather good aim...
"Come on, Allyra. We can't let it beat us!" he said in a playful tone, whilst bending down and making a few snowballs. Even though the snow was extremely cold, Soren didn't mind too much. What was a bit of cold against the fun that came with it?
He passed a few of the snowballs to Allyra while throwing a few toward the red bird Pokémon as well.
He never knew how badly he aimed until that day.
The ball of snow seemed to have a mid of its own as it veered off from the target Soren had his eyes on, as if it had a life of its own. Really, how could he be so bad at it? Visualize, aim, and shoot, right? Why did the "shoot" never follow the "visualize and aim" properly?
All three snowballs he hit were unsuccessful by far, and even though he was getting a bit frustrated, he kept telling himself that the next was was going to be better.
Allyra was having fun, only partially aiming at the bird. For the most part, she just had fun throwing the snowballs over with her tail, finding it to be quite an amuzing activity.

The Delibird watched as the pokeballs the human trainer threw at him missed him by far. The delivery bird seemed to laugh at the trainer. <"Deli deli!"> it pointed at the trainer. <You have horrible aim!> It began to giggle some more but all of a sudden it got hit in the face by a snowball, causing it to fall back words on to its back. It sat up and shook its head of some of the snow. It's laughing stopped as it ducked behind the bush again. It reached into its bushy tail and pulled out to more snowballs. It looked over the bush and then giggling it threw the snowballs high into the air. As the snowballs came down, they were aimed at the heads of the pokemon and trainer.

Soren's pride was hurt just a little bit by the comment. Really, he wasn't that bad, was he?
He threw another snowball.
Okay, so maybe he was.
As he bent down to make another snowball, he received the hit that the Delibird had thrown at him on the nape of his neck, making him nearly squeak. NEARLY. The snow was cold, biting into his skin and sending shivers down his spine. He tried to shake the snow off, but only resulted in making it fall further down his shirt, melting into icy cold water.
He glared at the Delibird.
"I'll get you for that," he muttered, before positioning himself carefully. He aimed and prepared to fire, trying to visualize and concentrate.
He could do it... he could do it...
He threw the snowball. It was his best shot up to date and it flew in the general direction of the Delibird, and all Soren could do was hope that it hit.

The Delibird laughed at the actions of the trainer after it had hit him with the snowball. It totally let is guard down at the trainer now. That was a baaad idea though. As the snowball the trainer had just thrown at it flew threw the air, it laughed point at the trainer. It had expected the snowball to miss him by a mile buuuut as fate would have it. It hit the Delibird right in the face. It fell back words on its back. It whiped the snow off its face and then sat up. It looked a little mad. No it looked pissed off. <"Deli Delibird!"> it said pointing at the trainer. <I challenge you!> It reached into its tail that act as a bag and pulled out a small box. The Delivery bird covered it in snow, Disguising it as a snowball. The delibird chucked it at the trainer as hard as it could. Half way threw the air it exploded, it wasn't a big explosion but it wasn't a to much of a small one ether. Seems like the Delibird was serious about the fight.

Soren nodded at the challenge, accepting it. Finally! A battle!
He glanced at Allyra, who had taken a place in front of him, ready to fight as well. As he heard the snowball explode, she barely seemed to notice, still bouncing up and down as carefree as the wind.
She would never be able to fight against something like that Delibird alone with her only attack being "Splash". He wasn't sure if he wanted Meris or Elsu out either, since neither were really team players.
That left him with...
"Come out, Seath," he said, letting out his little ookira. The winged canine looked around with a smile on her maw. She flapped her wings twice, although refraining to take off.
"Allyra, hop on over and try to distract the Delibird. Be really careful with any snowballs the bird might throw, and chuck a few towards it if you have time. Seath, Tackle and Growl, in that order!"
As Allyra bounced over as directed, probably not doing too good of a job in distracting the Delibird, the wolf cub broke into a run, ready to tackle its prey down.

The delibird grinned as he reached back into its bushy tail that held all of its "Presents" it pulled out to of them. It cackled a evilly and threw both of the exploding presents at seath. It was gonna have some fun causing some trouble around here with its exploding presents. When the bombs exploded they caused Minimum damage to the surroundings around them. The ground did shake a tiny bit.

Seath let out a little yelp as she tried to dodge the flying presents, the first one creating a large explosion whist the second one was harmless. Seath quickly closed the distance between the her and the Delibird before attacking, leaping in.
Allyra was, from the sidelines, preparing a few weapong of her own. True, she couldn't attack by herself, but that didn't mean she couldn't help! He let out a "spoink!" as snowballs were slowly made.
Soren looked at the batte in front of him, his pokedex on hand. The delibird only knew one attack, and that attack was a rather random and risky one... it could harm or heal, either opponent or itself, which made it very unpredictable.
"Attack, Seath!" he yelled. He'd just have to gamble his way through, then...

The Delibird dodged seath and took out a present. It got pelted with a few snowballs as it dodged. Staggering a little from the hits it threw the present at Spoink. It exploded as it flew. Quickly pulling out another present it threw it at Seath. This time however when it threw it it healed Seath. It let out a low growl getting more angry. This delibird wouldn't go down so easy!

"Come on, Seath... Agility, and then Wing Attack!" said Soren. "Good job Allyra, but be careful of those presents!"
The spoink wasn't too affected by the trembling on the ground when the present exploded, as she had wnderful balance on that tail of hers. Seath was relieved when the present hadn't sent him flying from an explosion, and healed her instead... even if there wasn't much to heal.
Loosening her muscles, the pokemon used Agility, upping her speed. She then took to the skies before diving back down, her wings aligned with the Delibird's body.

The delibird took the hit directly being to slow to dodge it due tot he agility that pokemon used. It flew back a little and landed in the snow on its back. It struggled to get up but it finally did. It pulled to presents out of tis tail. It grinned and threw them both at Seath. Exploding as it flew threw the air. The delivery hoped to do some damage to the pokemon it just healed.

"Kii~" yelled Seath as the present exploded and hit her rather hard.
Allyra, seeing her teammate get hit, frowned and bounced over to the delibird, attacking with a... splash. She simply bounced around, yelling angry words at the bird.
"Are you okay, Seath?" asked Soren, keeping an eye on Allyra. She was dangerously close, but hopefully the next present the Delibird would throw wouldn't be an exploding one...
"Ookii..."
"Stay strong, Seath. Go back in there with a tackle, and show that Delibird who's boss!" he said.
The pokemon nodded, before shaking the snow off from her fur and charging back into battle.

The delibird pulled out another present. It grinned. It was throwing the present into the air and catching it. <"Deli~bird!"> It threw the present at he Spoink. <"Take...This!"> The present however did not explode but instead healed the Spoink. The Delibird frowned at the outcome. It being distracted by the Bouncing pig like pokemon left him wide open to the Seath's attack. It hit him dead on and he was sent flying back. It hit the snow hard and then struggled to get up. It had one eye closed and it was gritting its teeth. It did the only thing it could think of. It pulled out another present and threw it hoping to for it to explode. It was aimed right at seath. To the delibirds dismay however it healed Seath to.

"Come on, Seath! Finish it with another tackle!" said Soren. This was it! He was going to win his first wild pokemon battle! The feeling inside him was exhilarating. He never felt such a powerful rush before, and he loved it.
"Allyra, be ready to launch any of your snowballs if the Delibird gets up after the attack," he added. The spoink was just extremely happy to be part of all this, despite having a very limited amount of attacks.
Green eyes darted from left to right as he watched his commands being executed.

The Delibird took the hit directly. It was agile enough to dodge the attack. It was hit hard and it was sent flying. It, however, had been sneaky. It left a little..."Present" where it had previously been. The Present explode at point blank range in front of Seath. ohhh that'll cause some horrible horrible pain in the mourning. The Delibird had swirls in its eyes as it laid there. A grin across its face.

Seath hadn't noticed the present until it hit him right on the face, making her howl in pain. That... that REALLY hurt!
The Spoink, seeing that the Delibird had moved (from the impact, but she didn't care about those details), pelted snowballs at the fainted pokemon.
Soren quickly made his way over to Seath.
"Are you okay, girl" he asked. She had her head buried in the snow to dull the pain, but nodded at the question.
"You did a great job," he said, patting her at the wing joints, before getting back up. He fished a pokeball from his pouch before chucking it toward the Delibird.

The sphere was launched at the Delibird, and it was inhaled in a mass of pale crimson light that deteriorated until it was undiscernably obscure. The PokeBall fell and thrashed violently within the snow for several moments that felt akin to all of eternity -- the generous Pokemon was fighting back strongly, but its resolve gradually dissolved and the orb stood stock still, emanating triumphance. A Delibird was obtained. Level: 6 Gender: [ you decide ] Name: [ you decide ] Personality: [ you decide ]
