Chronologically, they left the town before Windra did.
Hectate and Scarlet figured that the earlier they took off, the more likely the chance that they'd catch up to the girl at the Pokémon Center in the next town over ... wherever that was. It had been amusing watching them try to figure out which way was what. An hour was the time it took for them to figure out where the hell the road to Route 1 was - mostly because their detours through alleys often left them going in circles.
By that time, they'd become acquainted with their Pokémon. Scarlet was delighted with her Sableye, who immediately set a pair of chattering teeth upon the girl's lockes when it came out of its ball. The duo were a perfect match . It wouldn't be long before they started leaving flaming paper bags of shit in front of doors. Juggernaut dubbed the male Sable 'Hatter' after the Mad Hatter - based more off of the insane homicidal one from American McGee's Alice and Batman instead of the book or the movie.
As for Hectate, her encounter had been less hectic but just as endearing. The Drifloon was a quiet soul, drifting in the air without doing or saying much. There was such a hostile aura lurking about it that at first Nemo was afraid it would go apeshit on them and attack. But the female Drif held back, seething at nothing and everything. She had to approach it in a calm and submissive manner for it to make any interaction with her at all. An hour later, the Drifloon was still distrustful of all of them. but at least she hovered by Hectate's side without complaining.
It was 4:30 in the morning. he first hints of dawn were beginning to appear over the horizon, spraying shades of lighter blue into the indigo sky. Stars still shone bright, their unknown constellation ever-sparkling. All around them were the sounds of life - chirps, croaks, cries, yells, hoots, rustles ...
Hectate had her hands jammed in her pockets. She strolled down Route 1 with a lift in her step, while her eyes danced about the locale as if to size up any predator that might be lurking out there. Dusa, the Drifloon, floated along, silent as ever.
Until Scarlet's Hatter decided to try and set its foot on fire with a match stolen from his master. The resulting behavior was Drifloon chasing after the Sableye in circles, hissing what were probably curses in its own language. Hectate groaned, lowering her head a bit. "Jeeze ... "
"Dey remind me of us!" Scarlet chirruped, proud swelling in her chest. "Yus!" Hectate did not comment, but that didn't mean she didn't agree ... "It's so earlyyyyy ... " That was a whine. Juggernaut slumped forward, her face sagging (though it quirked into a smile when Dusa and Hatter went flying by, the pursue still going on."
"The sooner we leave," Hectate told Scar matter-of-factly, "the sooner we get to the next place, the sooner we can pass out."

A timid oddish peeked out from the fern it was hiding behind and watched the interesting foursome with skeptical interest. The Pokémon blended in with its surroundings, making it hard to spot at times. His mentor wouldn't be hard to spot though, he sighed slightly as he heard her footsteps pounding through the branches and leaves. She was to put it, pissed. The oddish ducked down further wanting to avoid confrontation. A large pink puff ball pokemon, stalked out of the bushes a look of anger on it's face. <Do you mind keeping the racket down? I'm trying to teach this oddish singing!> she fumed, gesturing widely towards the hiding oddish. The Jigglypuff was puffed up to look more impressive. <He cannot properly hear my high C note if I cannot hear myself!> she added, looking proud at the mention of the note. It was a huge accomplishment to be able to hit that note with the right pitch. The oddish had skill, but she was able to meet with him only so often. So when she did, she needed quiet! Most of the other Pokémon knew by now to not mess with her whether it be by personal experience or by word of mouth. The foursome would have have to learn it the hard way. <So, quite frankly SHUT UP!> she roared, a vain pulsing in her forehead. The kirby look alike, crossed her stubby arms and tapped her foot, she knew she shocked people, but must they take so long to reply? Letting out an exasperated sigh, she was tempted to burst into song and then leave them for the Beedrill. She would wait, with what was left of her self control.

The sudden, rather random outburst startled the group of four. Scarlet and Hectate stood to attention, glazed and green eyes watching the raging Jiggly as she ranted and raved and carried on. Anger was etched into every word, every syllable. How long, they wondered, would it be before she suddenly flew across the distance and launched at their faces, tiny fists balled into furious hammers? The thought made Hectate cringe: not out of fear of getting hurt, but out of not liking the thought of confrontation. They would do well to avoid fi -
< So, quite frankly SHUT UP! >
Okay. That was uncalled for. Rubbing the bridge of her nose out of fatigue, Hectate cast a weary glance towards their own Pokémon. Dusa stopped her pursuit of Hatter because the Sableye had suddenly vanished from view - more then likely he jumped into a bush or something to avoid being caught or seen. Having lost her one target, the ghostly balloon shifted focus to the Jigglypuff. If it had veins, they would be swelling to the point of bursting right now. Irritation was formulating from the Drifloon in waves. It sucked in a 'breath' (though it had no mouth) to make itself seem larger. Hands at the ends of the jellyfish-like appendages balled into fists.
And then there was that low thrum coming from the pit of its form, not unlike the roar of a turning engine. Dusa was growling. But holding back. Hectate inwardly commended her for the restraint it took to keep from attacking. Good girl, she thought while turning to the Jigglypuff. "I don't know what bug crawled up your rear or what side of the bed you got out of," she said calmly, not batting an eye, "nor do I care.." Poor Oddish. Hectate couldn't begin to imagine what the singing lessons were like with a tutor of that persona. Shoulders shrugging, she added, "But we'll leave y - "
"SO KEWT!" roared Scarlet suddenly. Juggernaut had been quiet for so long that Hectate was beginning to think she was being on good behavior ... for once. She failed to realize that the red-skinned woman's eyes were growing wider by the second, and that her jaw was splitting wider and wider and wider with those shark-teeth glistening in the moon. The Trainer suddenly launched across the clearing when the words flew out of her mouth, vocal chords aching with the hoarse yell. Her clawed fingers extended out towards Jigglypuff. "Kewt and teh puffeh! I wanna hug ya and squeeze ya and call ya George!"
Just when Scarlet was within arm's reach, she was suddenly yanked back. Hectate had run after her and now grappled the woman by the scruff of her high-collar trench coat. For somebody who was significantly smaller and lighter than the crimson-hued fae, one-eyed Nemo had no problem with holding her inches above the ground.
Hectate clicked her tongue, shaking her head from side to side while taking on the role of a scorning parent. "Scar, do you remember what I told you when you tried to molest that cop in the last town?"
A pout consumed Juggernaut's face. "Jumpin' people and tryin' ta mess with 'em is bad?"
"And what happened when you tried to molest that cop in the last town?"
"I gots arrested ... "
"Exactly."

The Jigglypuff eyed the Dirftloon with mild interest, she wished it would attack. It would give her a reason to attack, well, a justifiable reason that is. She got in trouble last time she attacked a trainer. She rolled her eyes mentally, everyone had gotten all upset, but how was she supposed to know that the trainer was the mayor?
"I don't know what bug crawled up your rear or what side of the bed you got out of, nor do I care"
The Jigglypuff inflated at this, did she just say that? To her face? Oooh, that girlie was going down. The Jigglypuff was about ready to snap back at the girl with a harsh, but witty comment, her specialty. The girl started speaking again, and sounded positive for her side, so she clenched her fists and sat through it with a slight pout.
"But we'll leave y - "
The Jigglypuff nodded, that's what she wanted to hear, why did it take so long for her to get to that point though? She could've been long gone by now. Sighing with impatience the pink Pokémon shifted her weight from one foot to another. "SO KEWT!" a voice roared in her ear, causing her to puff up to her largest size and look around for the opponent. That was /it./
"Kewt and teh puffeh! I wanna hug ya and squeeze ya and call ya George!"
The Jigglypuff liked being called cute, with all the time she spent on her hair she had better look cute. However, she despised being called fat. <It's fur! Excess fur! Not fat!> she roared, stamping her foot in a mini-tantrum. Her name was hardly George either! <And for you information, I am a lady. Lady Kimberly Princessia Weilivem.> she said haughtily. She was about to pound the girls face in when the Oddish scampered out of the bush and pushed the Jigglypuff away, restraining as the other trainer held her comrade back. <Um...> the Oddish mumbled. <You might want to leave.>
The Jigglypuff knew she could go through the oddish, she she quickly plugged the oddish's ears and let out a soft and musical melody that quickly grew in sound to harsh and grating, much like nails across a chalkboard. <Feel the wrath of my Perish Song! It's been bred in my family for generations.> she said smugly, grinning as she released the oddish's ear holes.
The oddish looked dejected, but kept attempting to shove his mentor away from the group. They would surely want a battle now, and that was bad, he didn't want to see Pokémon faint.

It was a fairly good thing, Hectate realized with a sigh escaping from slightly parted lips, that Scarlet was in a 'good' mood today. Had she been in a rage, this game would have been over. The moment Juggernaut got her claws on Jigglypuff, she would have ripped that cute and cuddly little face clean off in a shower of gore and macabre. The thought made Nemo gulp and put more strength into her death-like grasp. Stainless-steel-tipped boots flailed wildly and abnormally long-nailed fingers stretched and clenched and scrabbled at the air for support that would not come, but eventually Scarlet would wear out and simply hang limply in her friend's grip. Dusa, in the meantime, was incensed by Jigglypuff's sudden motion forward. Was she going to attack? The Drifloon could, too. And she could make the other pay dearly for any action of hostility taken against her Trainer ...
A blur of green and navy blue dove from the bushes nearby. Like lightning it positioned its body before the Jiggly. No matter how much Ms. 'Kimberly Princessia Weilivem' puffed herself up out of rage, the only thing that actually changed was the volume in which the weight distributed itself. Body mass remained the same, and the Jiggly was fairly light as is. So the Oddish had no difficulty pushing her back.
< Um ... You might want to leave. > Timid but straightforward, the Oddish was mumbling to Hectate and Scarlet and Dusa ... and Hatter, had he been anywhere near enough to hear those words.
Nemo nodded. Closing her one eye momentarily, she stepped back with Scarlet in tow. "Agreed," she told the small Leaf type, nodding. "This isn't worth getting into a brawl over." A little sheepishly, she added, "I have to apologize for my friend's behavior. She tends to get spastic with ease, regardless of the wellbeing of others."
Scarlet beamed at that. A mouth filled with rows upon rows of shark-like protrusions made a horror-show out of her grin. "But still teh kewt!" cried she, pointing to Jiggly.
Maybe that was what stirred the Perish Song from Kimberly, who covered the Oddish's ears while she sang. Hectate held back, blinking in perplexion whilst Scarlet hung limp in her hand. Once the melody was finished ...
"Are you done?" It was a sentence filled with no emotion but monotone. Hectate's face was like a stone. She shook her head, brown hair falling about her eyes. Sad - she'd hoped this would have turned out better than it was ... Oh well, best to leave it be as it was. "Forget it. Let's go." That was meant for Scarlet and the Drifloon alone -
Dusa!
Hectate'd forgotten about the Ghost. Looking about frantically, she realized all too late that the Trained Drifloon was flying towards Kimberly the Jiggly. It was hissing, voice grating and rumbling in the depths of its unrealized vocal chords until it revealed itself as a low-pitch snarl that eventually raised into a high-pitch bloodcurdling screech! Those dual tendrils extending from the bottom of its floating mass aimed towards Jigglypuff as it drew near, eager to wrap around the tiny form and Constrict the life out of it!
"Dusa NO!" Nemo launched at her Poké counterpart, trying in vain to grab one of the Jellyfish appendages before the attack could be landed.

The Jigglypuff smirked with satisfaction at the scrambling human, her limbs were arched and she was flailing with all her might. Her eyes were intensely focused on her, making her shift uncomfortably under the intense and piercing gaze. Her glistening molars were slightly intimidating and she let out a small squeak as they formed a gruesome smile. The pink Pokémon shifted her gaze to the other trainer, much preferring the one restraining Scarlett. The Jiggly listened attentively to the girl, watching as she spoke to her pupil.
"This isn't worth getting into a brawl over."
The Jigglypuff rolled her eyes, they were the ones that had started it! She had simply told them to shush up a bit! Standing rather stiffly, she held her tongue waiting for the girl to finish before speaking her mind.
"I have to apologize for my friend's behavior. She tends to get spastic with ease, regardless of the wellbeing of others."
Kimberly tapped her toe slightly in thought, but relaxed her muscles, a big mistake. She sounded sincere, and she honestly hadn't /done/ anything, it was just her unfortunate comrade. The Pokémon had to agree, the other human looked like she had some... issues to needed to be dealt with. Kim was dying to give the girl a make over, enhance those cheekbones and color her eyes green. It wouldn't bother her Kim was sure, but she didn't feel safe getting near the teeth. She would not want to be a dentist for her.
Suddenly a blue and green blur darted in front of the Jiggly, the Jigglypuff let out a muted sigh at the antics of the grass pokemon, she really didn't need to be restrained, well... not most of the time and she wouldn't have attacked them if the insane person hadn't lunged towards her precious throat. Her voice was her life, literally, she would die if she lost it; the little oddish would be all she had left to live for, Kimberly thought of him as her son nearly. He was important to her, so she had protected him by attacking the odd people. While thinking about the talented oddish she heard a loud exclamation come from the aforementioned girl
"But still teh kewt!"
That was when she snapped, performing the song she had grabbed the oddish's leafy frond with a vise like grip. She had been planning to make a hasty escape afterwards, when they were stumbling around confused. However the humans standing stock still had caught her attention, why hadn't they reacted to the attack? It was horrible sounding to her even though it was muted strongly. Then again it was the first time she had used this attack in front of humans, so perhaps it didn't have an effect on them?
"Dusa NO!"
The Jigglypuff turned to the sound of Nemo's frantic and desperate voice, it was as if she was in slow motion. Everything was going so fast, but she noticed everything at once. Nemo diving at her Pokémon and missing vainly, hand grasping at thin air. The oddish frozen in horror, at the Driftloon charging at them, horrible noises emitting from the creatures throat. It sounded like it was eating a Beedrill, the Jiggly had only a few moments to act. With a desperate shove she pushed the oddish out of the way, so he wouldn't be caught in the attack. The grass Pokémon landed on the ground harshly, but safely out of harms way. For now.
The Jiggly groaned as the Driftloon made contact and his trailing tendrils wrapped around her chubby form. She was trapped within his tendrils, and her voice was weak but she attempted a Sing the melody coming out horse and raggedly.

It really did appear that the Perish Song had eluded them. Or had it? For the moment, there was no clear way to tell. Dusa the Drifloon still latched onto Jigglypuff's form with her vice-like tendrils. Scarlet still writhed in the grip of Hectate, who was torn between letting the frenzied female go in favor of grabbing onto the offensive Ghost-type ... and therefore risk the wellbeing of everybody in the area. Hatter the Sableye was still MIA from the scene of the crime. Jigglypuff was still torn from the earth and Oddish was still flung aside ... Had the Perish Song worked?
Perhaps. Perhaps not. Only time would tell.
And the only thing being told right now was that this situation was quickly becoming a mess of mass proportions. There was too much chaos going on - so much that it made Hectate close her eyes and wish it all away. If only they could go back in time and keep from coming upon the singing trainer and her protégé ... But it was too late for regrets. Hissing through her teeth, Nemo balanced out her options and decided for one that was probably the msot sane. If she released Scarlet, there was no telling what Juggernaut would pull off. However, if she let Dusa run loose ... The Balloon ghost was a very vengeful creature, eager to take its rage out on any of those who infuriated it, her, if only for a split second of its long-lasting life.
There was a third option. A monumental secret hidden within the pouch tied to Hectate's waste ... With a free hand, Nemo slid fingers into the packet and rounded her hand 'pon a Pokéball, minimized for compact purposes.
"Lemme goooo!" whined Scarlet. Hectate was not looking at her, but judging by the twisting and churning of the 6'1"-tall woman's body in the grasp of somebody eight inches shorter than her, Juggernaut appeared to be quelling somewhat. Her lashes were less weighted and powerful. "Pleaaaase? I'll be gooood?"
Scoffing, Hectate rolled her one visible eye. The other gestured similarly, but was not seen. "I've heard that before," retorted the brunette before pressing the button centered on the Pokéball. It enlarged in her grip, becoming the size of a baseball at best, though much lighter - hollow. Hectate rose the item and locked the trajectory with Dusa, narrowing her eyes. Oh gods, she was going to feel bad locking something up ... but it had to be done for now. Perhaps in a few hours when the Drifloon calmed ... "Dusa!" she commanded. The authority in her voice caused the Ghost to turn slightly, eyes meeting with her's. "Return!"
A red beam shot forth from the seam between red and white. It struck Dusa head on, wrapping about the bloated form within seconds and with ease. Pfzzzt! What the?! It fizzled out! Dusa somehow managed to distill the magnetic power of the trajectory beam. Had it neglected the Pokéball in the same manner as a Wild Pokémon, too strong to be contained?
"Looon!" snarled the Drifloon. It was a warning sound. Now it turned back to Jigglypuff, continuing to crush ... to destroy ...
"She don't like you very much, Shosho," crowed Scarlet. She finally stopped struggling and hung there like a corpse fresh out of the grave. Curious glazed eyes watch the battle through a haze. "Wanme to kick her ass?"
Hectate shot the Juggernaut a look that mingled with shock and disgust. "What are ya, nuts?"
The red-skinned woman offered her the widest, slickest grin to date. It made Nemo roll her eyes and, with a gruff sigh, the one-eyed woman dropped her comrade to the ground. A fall like that onto solid earth was unmerciful, but lucky for Scarlet's deadened nerves, she couldn't feel a damn thing.
Except her ass thumping. She rubbed it. "Dat be's remindin' me of - "
"Can it, Scar," groaned Hectate. She took a strep towards the battlers now, wanting to break this thing up come hell, fire, or brimstone.
And it was that exact moment when Jigglypuff began to sing. The noise was grating and hoarse because of the pressure exerted by Dusa's gloved tentacles, but the effect was all the same. Nemo watched bewildered as the Ghost-Type's eyes flickered closed and open, closed and open. Swaggering, it fell back. The Constrict lost its grip and Jigglypuff was dropped to the ground. Drifloon was nothing more than a helium-inflated balloon with no motivation now. She hung lifeless in the air, suspended by nothing but ethereal energies as she dozed into unconsciousness. 'Twas the first time Hectate had ever seen her so peaceful ...
And weak.
Meaning it could be captured, or returned. Looking resigned, Hectate brought her Pokéball to eye-level and whispered, "Dusa, return!" The red beam that shot out was not merciful this time as it sucked the Ghost out of view. Lowering the now-heavy sphere to her pouch, a hardened, almost saddened gaze landed 'pon Jigglypuff. Had Kimberly been terribly hurt? "Are you wounded badly?" inquired she, concern reeking in every word.
A snore took flight to her ears. Nemo turned and was surprised to see that Kimberly's song not only affected the Pokémon around it, but Scarlet as well! She was still sitting cross-legged but with her head tilted at an awkward, almost painful angle. Jaws were parted, drool dripping from the corner of a wide maw. The tongue lolled back and forth with each breath taken.
Hectate chuckled at the sight. She looked back to Kimberly and bowed. "By the by," she admitted, "you really do have a wonderful singing voice." She wasn't bluffing simply to get off of the Jiggly's bad side. It was an honest statement.
Swinging now to gather Scarlet up so that they could both apologize and be on their way, the Perish Song's death count finally gripped her senses, her muscles, her mind and her heart. The one eye rolled back until nothing was to be seen but white. With all the grace of a sack of potatoes, Hectate fell face-first into the dirt, out cold.
A long moment of silence ensued. Just when it seemed about to remain permanent, a voice called to Kimberly's left. "Sable?" queried Hatter, crouching now beside Kimberly. It had appeared out of nowhere. Had it been in the bushes all along. Rather than emit concern, however ... < Haha, nice one! > He was complementing Jiggly! The Rock-Eating Pokémon removed a black marker from seemingly nowhere and launched at the group of comatose friends. His first target was Scarlet, upon who's face he drew a variety of things - including a mustache and a devil's beard. If Juggernaut were awake, she'd be laughing right now.

The Oddish struggled to his feet, a couple of his tall leaves bent from his somersault to the ground. Getting off of the ground was a challenge in its own way, with the lack of arms, and the only limbs that could be used were tiny stubs at the end of his body, it was as bad as a Squirtle stuck on its back. Letting a sigh escape his breath from the accomplishment, the scene from earlier was slowly absorbing in his head.
"Sable?" queried Hatter, crouching now beside Kimberly. It had appeared out of nowhere. Had it been in the bushes all along. Rather than emit concern, however ... < Haha, nice one! > He was complementing Jiggly!
<ACK!> The Oddish squealed, not expecting the sudden appearance of the Sableye, and was right on his back in a split second. Shaking his body like a pendulum for the extra force and power until he was able to at least get on his side. At least he could use his leaves to help him out a bit, from the direction they were bended in, a small push got him right back up. He was fine, if not a bit surprised at Hatter's strange personality.
Lady Kimberly Princessia Weilivem received a bit of shock as well, which was only amplified by Oddish's tiny yelp. Freezing in place until her thoughts came right back to her, ignoring the ghost type to run straight to her student. Embracing the Oddish as he tried to struggle out of her grip.
<Your fine, right? Yes! Yes! I was fighting for you, you know? I guess you could call me...> She stopped smothering the Oddish in order to think of something proper to think of.
<Your guardian angel!> She chirped, holding the grass type far away in order to make eye contact with him. Definitely a Kodak moment. If Pokemon knew what that was.
'More like the Angel of Death....' The Oddish thought with a sweat drop, breaking free of her grip to tilt his head in confusion at the Sableye. He hadn't attacked either of them, even with his trainer down and out. What a strange character...The timid Oddish was left with confusion as he watched the ghost types antics, the Jigglypuff tilting her head as she realized that the two got the quiet that they wanted.
<Hey! We can practice our singing now!> She exclaimed, the Oddish paling as a result of that idea. He really wasn't in the mood to burst out into song, but the Jigglypuff already had him in her grasp, laughing all the way. She assumed that she won the battle, and became a lot stronger as a result. Which explained her sudden mood swing.

"Let's do the time warp agaaaaaaain!"
It wasn't for many, many hours until the incredibly awkward duo awoke from their slumber. Hectate was the first to stir. The initial reaction gripping her body was to pull her head up sharply. She'd landed face-first n the soil and, upon relieving her nose and mouth from the ground, found herself spitting and coughing and carrying on without relent. Brown smudged her face with bits of green here and there where grass stained the complexion of the skin. Dirt was a bitter tang in her mouth. It rested on her tongue and she involuntarily swallowed. Oh, yeah. That was a lovely taste. Frowning bitterly, Hectate pulled backwards until she rolled onto her rear. Sitting upright made her slightly dizzy. Nemo rubbed at her eyelids, suddenly itchy all over. Gods, what time was it?
One green eye glanced upward and blanched when light came pouring down on her. It was dawn. The sun was two hands from the horizon, meaning that it had been about three or four hours since the Jigglypuff assault. That Perish Song was some tough stuff - and potent enough, it seemed, to disillusion humans who were not supposed to be the targets of such attacks. Hectate shook her head wearily when an alarm bell went ringing in her mind. The pouch! She quick went to check it and was mildly relieved to find that all of her possessions were in check and intact. Nothing had been stolen.
Glancing across from her, Hectate found Scarlet still crumpled in a heap. Her Sableye was sitting cross-legged beside her with this shit-eating grin on its face as though it had done something and knew very well what it had done, feeling no remorse. This forcedthe brunette to quirk an eye, and her attention was extra keen when the Juggernaut finally arose, groaning, from her slumber.
"Dat be's da last time I mix whiskey wit' blood, kies?" she grumbled, voice so low and incoherent that Hectate had a difficult time understanding her at first. Hatter was snickering madly into his hand, and Scarlet's face jerked up a bit at the sound.
When Hectate got an eye-full of the woman's forehead, she burst into laughter. Her voice joined Sableye's, their chorus of giggles and sniggers and hoots rising into the bland morning. There, plain in sight above Scarlet's blind eyes, was the black-outlined phallic symbol. It was easy to figure out who the offender was, considering that Hatter was clutching the permanent marker in his right digits ...
Scarlet stared on, confused. "What?" she thrummed, head tilting to one side. When laughter was the only thing to reply, she asked again - more forcefully this time. "WHAT?!"
Hectate broke for a second and pointed to her. Jaws parted and an explanation began to roll in her mouth, but it faltered into hilarity the instant the first syllable fell out.

Resting on the ground was a tiny lump of feathers, a couple of lovebirds that decided to take an afternoon nap. With it being so close the Evening, it was a wonder why they were still asleep. Perhaps they were simply too comfortable being right next to each other, as snug as a bug in a rug, as one would say.
But with all of the tall grass around them, it was hard to see exactly what species of Pokemon they were. There was simply too much brown involved to get a close enough look at the two.
Get a closer look? Try to catch them? Battle? Or simply ignore the feathered Pokemon?

OoC Not evening, my friend. Dawn.
--
It hadn't been long before Hectate finally cracked and revealed the predicament to Scarlet, who burst into laughter of her own for a good, oh, thirty minutes? After busting her gut long after Nemo and Hatter lost interest in the subject matter, Juggernaut furiously rubbed her forehead. When that failed, she licked her palm and tried to remove it that way. The result was a nice black smear above her eyes, making it look like she'd just removed herself from a certain religious gathering that the roleplayer can't think of the name of right now.
It wasn't long before they were on their jolly way again. Hatter bounded beside Scarlet, as jittery and spastic as his owner - for they both resorted to pulling foolish pranks upon one another. Hectate decided to take a chance and summoned Dusa from her ball. The Drifloon floated in mid-air, looking scorned and angry. Beady eyes met the green one and they stared at one another for a long moment.
"If I leave you out of the ball," Hectate said sternly, very serious, "will you 'play nice'?"
The look she was given was similar to a death glare from Two-Face. A loooong moment passed before the Ghost-Type nodded, making it very obvious that it didn't want to agree at all. This was completely against her will. If she wanted to attack, then she would! And the one who vexed her fury would pay dearly!
But her Trainer was Hectate. And after dealing with Scarlet after what seemed like a lifetime, telling the Drifloon 'no means no' at certain points seemed hardly difficult. Dusa could brood all she wanted, but Hectate would ensure that nobody got hurt - even if it meant shoving the Drifloon in a Pokéball. Hopefully the girl would learn to contain her anger ...
Sighing, Hectate shrugged her shoulders. "Please," she whispered to Dusa, and turned her attention to Scarlet. They made haste to catch up -
- and didn't get very far when they found a strange sight. Two lumps of feathers, brown in coloration, were stranded in the middle of the Route. And they were ... snoring? Well not snoring. But they were definitely fast asleep. From the patterns, Hectate made a guess that they were Pidgey, but wasn't about to bother them to find out for sure.
Scarlet, however ... She stepped right up and leaned forward until her nose was mere inches away. A croon wavered in her throat. "Fluff!"
Moaning, Hectate slapped her forehead. "Not again ... "

One of the pairs of eyes forced themselves open after the feeling of another's hot breath began to make her feel rather uncomfortable. She knew it couldn't of been her sweet and darling Pidgey, but it didn't make any sense to her on who it could belong to.
The crest of a Spearow was soon apparent as she stood up, tall and proud as she stared into Scarlet's eyes. At first appearing uninterested due to her lack of sleep before realizing just what she was looking at.
<AYIIEEEEE!> She screamed, at once turning red with frustration and embarrassment. The Pidgey was shaken awake by his companion, stifling a yawn as he turned to look at the group. They were a bit odd looking, but he wasn't really that nervous.
<You ruined our nap! For that you shall pay!> She seethed, flapping her short wings to get a couple of centimeters into the air. Starting to peck at Scarlet's face in order to scare her off. Grunting with each peck while her claws dangled loosely into the air.

Scarlet's eyes opened wide upon the contact being made. A Spearow, was it? She couldn't see all that well save for a fluffy, faded shape of red and brown and black splotches with bits of white thrown in here and there. Her giddy grin stretched into an open-mouthed smile - right up until the Spearow shrieked in her face.
< AYIIEEEEE! > it yelled in a frantic bloodcurdling shout of fury and shock.
Its partner, a Pidgey as Hectate had guessed in her mind, stirred from his own slumber. Tired eyes gazed upon the peculiar group. Hectate could feel the Drifloon tense beside her, but willed the Ghost to keep from flying off the handle. Whether or not Dusa felt the internal command was beyond her. A green eye warily watched the small bird.
The Spearow dove for Scarlet's face, pecking at it with fury. Red hands flew into the air in an effort to defend the center of assault. Juggernaut could feel no pain, but it was rather annoying ... Somewhere behind her, Hatter erupted into deep growls. < Hey! > it was snapping. < Hey HEY! She didn't attack ya! Lay off, priss! >
< You ruined our nap! For that you shall pay! > The flurry continued.
Anxious, Hectate stepped forward. "Scar get awa - "
But before the words spilled out of her comrade's mouth, Scarlet's yell flew down to her Sableye, standing beside her now with hands clenched into tiny gemmed fists. "Hattaaaah!" called the red one. "Go fer it!"
What happened next caused Nemo to hold back with a grimace tight against her face. Hatter lunged up, stretching back both arms and launching them towards the face of the flying bird in an attempt to Scratch it away from his owner.

The Spearow remained oblivious to Scarlet's lack of pain, but kept dishing out peck after peck ruthlessly. Her eyes remained tightly closed as she did this, a bad habit, but for some odd reason she remained worried that blood would get in her eyes, and that it would hurt. Dirt, dust, blood, fur, anything of the sort would make her cringe if her eyes were put in any kind of danger. No idea where the sensitivity thing came from either, she just always had it since she hatched from an egg.
So there really was no surprise when Hatter knocked her to the ground with the scratch attack, or in this case, a shove attack. Small holes were covered by feathers on her back, a mark from the attack as she glared at the ghost type.
<No one messes with a Spearow. No one!> She seethed, apparently being a little short tempered as well. Quick to react by charging forward on legs that resembled the kind seen on chickens to make another Peck attack. Except this time it was for Hatter.
The Pidgey meanwhile sat upright, still in that same dreamlike state as he let out a yawn. Honest to Arceus, this was nothing knew to him. Some trainer would somehow end up ticking her off, and like a rocket she would shoot out and get into some kind of battle. Then he would have to intervene at some point to make sure that she didn't wind up getting herself captured.
<You do that honey! I'll stay right...here...> He chirped in a friendly way, only slowing down to see that there really was no point in trying to talk to her. She was so concentrated on making an attack, and if she missed she would probably blame him for it later on. He sheepishly shrugged his shoulders as he turned to examine the other trainer. The one girl didn't seem all that eager to a fight, unlike that thing that she called a partner. She seemed to tense up at the sight of him. Obviously a hostile lady, someone he didn't want to get involved with.
'I wish I knew that before I met her...' The Pidgey sighed to himself, not even bothering to look at the Spearow. True, he was attracted to her. Only when she wasn't in this type of berserk state. And to make things worse was that she was so freakin' protective of him.

Peck after peck after peck, Scarlet fell victim to the rage of a flying monstrosity. The sharpness of the being's beak did not fail upon contact with the tender skin of the fleshy humanoid being assaulted. Vessels snapped upon and blood came rushing out of new wounds. "Heyheyhey!" The smell of it woke something within Juggernaut that could be called a deepening hunger, but for the moment it was abated ... and would hopefully stay that way. Taking note of the injuries, Hectate tensed and readied herself to spring at the female. If Scar got out of hand and took it upon herself to clean this mess up ... and by clean, she meant making a bigger mess ...
Spearow fell to the ground. Feeling a strange elation rise into his veins at the sight of an opponent knocked from the sky, Hatter grinned. His claws flexed, eager to deal more damage even whent he Spearow climbed to her talons and screeched, < No one messes with a Spearow. No one! >
< I will, > was Hatter's statement of the day, and he let loose a giddy laugh that was completely in the opposite dimension of the situation at hand. How was this funny? He struck a pose, twitching digits towards himself in a 'bring it' motion.
Spearow launched for with a Peck aimed at the Sableye. He attempted to dodge to the side, but his arm was caught in the attack. It struck just above the elbow joint and pain rushed up into his muscles and veins. This bird could pack a punch. Hatter's attempt to dodge had thrown him somewhat to the right, and he crouched low in one deft motion, swiveling in the dirt with his claws splayed out for another Scratch aimed to the fragile tendons located at the base of the featherbrain's talons.
Gritting her teeth, Hectate held herself from dragging Juggernaut off before things got really bad. She turned to the Pidgey and uttered a sigh. If she were a cartoon, a massive sweatdrop would have contaminated the back side of her skull. "I don't suppose this happens often?" she whispered in a half-comment, half-joke.

Despite Hectate's half joke, the Pidgey gave a little sigh, nodding in response to the statement. He was rather used to this, and others questioning him about it. But himself, he was just a docile Pidgey. He never bothered to get himself involved in someone else’s mess. Only if things were getting really bad, then he would intervene. But what was the worst that could happen? The poor Pidgey had no idea of what the Juggernaut was capable of.
The Spearow hadn't even realized Hatter's obnoxious pose before her Peck attack made contact, but what she did feel was his claws making a last second scrape at her talons, causing her to flinch in mid-air. Slowly coming to a halt, she casted her gaze onto the ghost type, a scrunched up expression in disgust. She was really getting annoyed with him, but she was a nearly unbreakable spirit.
Much like a bull in a rage, she snorted out a wave of hot air while she attempted to aim right at the Sableye's stomach. He was a small target, which would only make things more difficult for her unless she got in really close. Giving her wings a final flap, she went straight ahead with a loud and ear piercing screech. Diving in closer and closer to Hatter with her beak pointed right at him, dangerously approaching with a Peck attack.

Hectate frowned at the Pidgey. She felt a distinct compassion for the guy despite the current situation. Sighing, she allowed her shoulders to sag and her forehead to droop. "I don't suppose," she began, voice sullen and quite low, "that it would be possible or wise to break this up right now, would it? The Spearow seems to have a highly irritable mood, and Scarlet won't be satiated until she holds a victory over her head. And she can hold a grudge for forever." Beside her, the Drifloon tensed. The brunette cast a sideways glance towards her and shook her cranium back and forth, hoping beyond hope that Dusa wouldn't be stupid enough to join in the brawl.
The connection of his claws against the bird's flesh made the Sableye squeal in excitement and happiness. He held his arms in the air as a method of taunting, a way of saying, "Ohhhh, what now?!" The visual of Spearow bristling in mid-air was absolutely delicious! How he wished to savor that expression for the rest of his life, to lock it in his mind for future use and look back upon it in moments of boredom when he really needed a good laugh.
Scarlet took to rubbing her wounds. There were quite a many peck marks upon her face, all of which were bleeding hot blood. That scent ... It took all of her willpower to keep from launching into some sort of frenzy in which she would maul everything about her. Needles to say, her mouth split into a grin, which opened to let loose a rattling laugh. "Ohho!" she was purring, licking the red stuff off of her finger. "Ohho, this is fun!"
"Easy, Scar," came Hectate's stern voice from behind. Juggernaut instantly stiffened, but her gleeful face did not change.
Spearow dove at Sableye now, beak positioned to strike at his soft underbelly. While it might not have been such a good choice and probably wouldn't do much at all, Hatter Leered at his opponent before, in hysterics, launching into the air diagonally. He was making a kamikaze move - putting himself directly in the line of fire while simultaneously reaching out his claws to Scratch once again, but this time at the feathers positioned about the bird's neck. One might consider this a game of aerial chicken ...

The Pidgey was beginning to get tired of this, with the Sableye having some kind of clear advantage over his dearest beloved. Some kind of quickness he couldn't quite describe. Both mentally, and physically, he was fast. He certainly didn't seem to belong on Route 1, that was for sure. If he could take on his sweetie, then that Sableye could take on anything!
The Spearow couldn't help but instinctively Leer right back at Hatter, with her defense lowered even farther, she wanted to keep the game as even as possible. But by now, each attack they dealt should be doing quite a bit of damage. One move might suddenly turn into a game of sudden death if it came to it. But Hatter was quicker in his ability to dodge, and managed to get up and around her neck, scratching at her precious outside. How could she possibly look nice for Pidgey now?! But from the shock of the attack, she suddenly jolted up into the air, not even realising it until she opened her eyes.
Flapping her wings even higher and higher in a subconscious attempt to vent out the damage being dealt, she realized that she had to try and shake this ghost loose from her. And around here was just perfect for it. Turning from a bull into a dangerous mare, she began going as fast as she knew how to in the thick underbrush of the forest. Weaving her way through branches and vines, smirking to herself as she imagined that ghostie sliding off of her. By the time she emerged back into the clearing, she anxiously looked around. Trying to see what happened in her blind attempt to get rid of Hatter.

Y hallo thar ... now that had been a surprise. Hatter hadn't tried to dodge the Spearow, instead blasting at her full on. He completely expected to take a hit while delivering one of his own. But it turned out that somehow the flying bird missed him! And his Scratch left its mark on her neck. His claws brought up a plume of feather torn from her throat - a strange reward but a trophy nonetheless. Hatter looked down in time to note the ground coming up very quickly. He splayed out all four limbs, clinging to the tufts of down with fervor -
- and landing on the back of the Spearow. Surprised, he let out a shrill squawk and clung to the bird for dear life, not wanting to get dropped especially when she was flying like a madwoman into the forest nearby. Branches smashed him in the face - one in particular striking so hard against his jaw that he thought, for a moment, that he'd lost a tooth. Or two. Leaves rooted deep into the revices of his body, spiking from cragged ears and rocky fingers. By the time the Tiny Bird Pokémon emerged from the depths, the Sableye looked no better than a Leafeon, so covered in fauna was he.
But he was still holding on.
Growling so deeply that the Spearow would probably be able to feel the vibrations upon her back, Hatter slammed shut his eyes in an attempt to use Foresight. Little help it would be, but he wanted to know if this crazy chick was gonna dive bomb or throw him off or something.

By the time that ride was over, the Spearow was panting more heavily than usual. Her body was finding itself going closer and closer to the ground because she couldn't support Hatter's weight, he was getting to be a load that she couldn't hang onto, or get rid of. That was it, she gave up! It was all over now!
Flapping her wings up in disgust, she fluttered down to the ground, sinking her talons into the moist dirt as she sighed in pleasure. The only thing that she was finding enjoyable around her. Standing still for a couple of moments, she began to wonder if the Sableye got the message or not. He better not go in for another one of those scratch attacks, she wouldn't handle any more of those.
<So....Get off....Now...> She wheezed out, her back beginning to feel numb from all of the damage that had been taken from before. Right now, she was simply done with these weirdos. But she was a little too tired to simply get right up and escape before any kind of Pokeball could be thrown.
The Pidgey on the other hand could breathe a happy sigh of relief at the sight of the Spearow calming down. She looked terrible, yes, but she was safe and everything appeared to be over. But he was still feeling a little nervous about going over to congratulate her on her efforts, she probably wasn't in the mood for it.
<Ehehehe...> His voice trailed off in a half chuckle, trying to lighten the mood, while still finding the situation rather awkward for himself and the Spearow. He wasn't sure if things would go worse from here, or if that ghost Pokemon would try and rub it in his Spearow's face, which might be a worst case scenario.
Hatter gains a level. Capture or move on?
