Namine smiled, giggling happily as she picked up her Riolu. "You did great!"
She blushed lightly, and continued down the Route. Not caring much for the rude Rattata, Namine went into search for more Pokemon.

Up ahead, a squabble could be heard. If one went to investigate, they would discover a male Nidoran duking it out with a Bellsprout. By the look of their wounds, the two had been battling for quite a while at an even match.
However, it looked as if they were both about to go down.
Off to the side, a pile of Oran berries could be seen. Apparently this was the source of the two Pokemon's tiff, a bit of food. What should be done? Should the battle be left unattended to or should a mediator solve the problem? Doesn't look like anyone has long to make a decision. . .

Namine looked up ahead, only to hear the argument of Pokemon. This worried her a bit but, her attention was caught short when she saw the berries. "oh my!"
She exclaimed, looking around for any Pokemon that could of left them there. "Do these belong to anyone?" She asked. When there was no reply, Namine began to take a few of the berries, still leaving some just in case a Pokemon would want some themselves.

{What are you doing?! Those are my berries!} the two Pokemon declared at the same time, forgetting their quarrel as they saw the trainer going for the berries they had been arguing over. However, you managed to pick up three before you were caught. The two Pokemon turned to glare at each other. {What do you mean your berries? They're all mine!} they shouted at each other before turning back to the trainer. {You can't take those! I was going to eat them!} the Nidoran hissed, pawing at the ground and showing off the small horn on his head. He squeaked as the Bellsprout violently shoved him aside and took his place. {Yeah! I was gonna eat those!} she spat, using a vine-whip attack to wrangle up the rest of the berries and pull them closer to herself. [Namie Recieved 3 Oran Berries]

Namine jumped back, only to bit her lip gently and hold her hands together in front of her face. "Oh! I called to see if anyone claimed them but.. there was no reply." She whimpered, then watched as the two started bickering at each other. "How about we split them up between you two to have an even amount?" Namine tried to reason with the Bellsprout and Nidoran.

<No no no! We'll battle you for them!> The Nidoran glared at Namine meanly, and then looked at the Bellsprout. There was no way he would loose against that girl. And there was no way the Bellsprout could win against that girl. This way he could get the berries and prove that he was better than the Bellsprout. <Accept?> He flashed a cocky grin at the girl, then at the Bellsprout.
<Accepted!> The Bellsprout answered without hesitation, sure that she would win the battle at all costs. After all, she was an awesome Grass Type! She could never loose, except to fire types. Maybe even not fire types, if they were low-leveled.
The Nidoran grinned, and took his stance. He was first, as usual. The Bellsprout was always too nervous to go first. <Choose your Pokemon,> he spat, a malicious grin on his face as he prepared to beat the heck out of the Pokemon Namine chose. There was absolutely no chance he would loose those berries after all he had done to try and get them! Absolutely no way at all.

Namine took a step back, she concluded that she was battling both Pokemon one at a time. Nidoran was up first, waiting for Namine to pull out the Pokemon she wanted to use. Namine bit her lip, holding up two Pokeballs- one with her Chimchar, the other had Riolu.
Chimchar was fire and this, had a good effect on the Nidoran but, Riolu was fight. Even though his type didn't effect much, he did have Zen headbutt, which was psychic move and was super effective against a Nidoran. Thus, Namine threw out her Riolu, with one super effective move and super defense, there was no way they could lose.
"Alright! Riolu, use Ice punch first!"
Riolu nodded, running at the Nidoran with his fist icy and ready for the ice attack to hit if possible.

Nidoran nimbly ducked out of the way of the Ice Punch and bounded away so he was a foot or so away from the little Riolu. He smirked widely and pawed at the ground. {Bah! Is that all you've got?} he spat.
He took a deep breath, then slowly let it out as he Focused all of his Energy to his horn. It started to glow dimly at first, but then it grew brighter as more energy was siphoned to the weapon/body part. If he landed this attack, there was a chance that it would be critical.
{I'll show you an attack!} he cried, charging at the little green Riolu as he attempted to land a super-effective Peck attack on the Fighting type Pokemon.
Meanwhile, the Bellsprout stood back with her leaves crossed as she assessed the battle. Nidoran thought she was being "nervous," but she was just being smart. As she watched, she made up a strategy, unknowning that Namine may switch Pokemon.

Namine smiled, knowing that the next move she was going to make Riolu do, was Psychic, meaning it was super effective against Nidoran Pokemon.
"Dodge, then Zen headbutt!" Namine called, watching her Riolu jump over the Nidoran then, lower his own head as if he had a horn to hit into the Nidoran with Zen headbutt, which could also make the Pokemon flinch if it hit.

Nidoran screeched in distress as the Zen Headbutt made contact with him. He skidded back several feet from the Riolu, one eye clenched shut against the pain, but he wasn't quite out of the fight yet.
One more hit like that, though, and he knew his reign would end.
Bellsprout giggled to herself. She never would have let herself get hit like that. Just went to show how much of a better Pokemon all around she was than that stupid Nidoran. Bah.
Shaking his head to clear it, Nidoran gave a short battle cry then charged the baby Pokemon, his horn glowing a dull white color. He still had a chance of causing critical damage to the Riolu if he hit, but that chance had lessened since his last turn. . . Blast it all.

"Ready, Zen headbutt again!" Namine called as her Riolu was hit, not fully luckily but he tried to dodged and was still hit by the arm. Shaking off the attack, Riolu ran back towards the Nidoran with his head lowered.

The Nidoran got lucky this time. He stood up and two paws-- his left hind paw and left front paw-- and nearly toppled over, but he managed to avoid taking the critical hit.
{Baha! Not so tough!} he said, smirking and turning around as soon as he two paws had touched back down. He lunged again for the Riolu, the little horn on his head glowing as he powered up for yet another Peck attack.

Namine bit her lip, watching the Nidoran carefully. "Dodge, then zen headbutt again!"
Riolu jumped out of the way of the peck attack only to lower his head for another Zen headbutt.

The Bellsprout let out a squeal as the Nidoran was sent flying at her. She danced out of the way and the little rabbit-like Pokémon slammed into a tree instead of the plant Pokémon. He didn't get back up. That Zen Headbutt had done the job. [Nidoran was Defeated and Can be Caught] [Riolu Gained 1 Level] Blinking, the Bellsprout stared at the fainted Nidoran for a second before turning to the trainer. {Alright! Guess it's my turn! I must warn you, I'll be a much tougher opponent!} she declared, steadying herself for the fight. {I'll let you go first! I can afford to give you that advantage!} she said, smirking. She was really confident in her abilities. . . Hope she can walk the walk as well as she talks the talk.

Namine threw a ball at the Nidoran, wanting to capture it. Now returning her Riolu, Namine threw out her Chimchar to face the Bellsprout. "Alright, Chimchar, leer then scratch!"
Chimchar appeared from the red and white sphere, only to shoot yellow beams of leer then run towards the Bellsprout with a scratch attack.

The Pokeball tapped the little Nidoran on the back and converted the Pokemon into energy before sucking him in. It fell to the ground and started to wiggle back and forth, but it stopped suddenly and made a small noise, indicating success. [Namine Caught the Nidoran Male] ::nidoranm:: Name: -You Choose- Gender: Need I say it? Level: 7 Ability: Rivalry/Poison Point Attacks: Leer, Peck, Focus Energy Bellsprout wasn't paying any attention to what the trainer wanted to do with her enemy. She had to watch that Chimchar. She was surprised that the trainer hadn't commanded a Fire Attack. Maybe he didn't know one. . . She shook her head. No, it was all just a ruse. She had to be careful. It could start spitting flames out at her at any second. Just pay attention to the attack it was using. Leer, and Scratch. Focus on that and react accordingly. There wasn't much she could do about the Leer except try not to back down. She had to watch that Scratch attack. She was so frail, she would have to be careful. Quickly, she used her thin, stem-like, boneless body to her advantage and bent over backwards to avoid the Scratch attack. She tried not to move at all during battles, and most of the time she could get away with it. {My turn,} she hissed, still bent backwards. She quickly snapped back into an upright position and lashed out at the Chimchar with her vines. It looked like a Vine Whip attack, but she was actually trying to Wrap up her foe. Damn. This thing knows what its doing.

"Dodge Chimchar, then scratch again!" Namine called out to her Pokemon. She didn't like this Bellsprout, not one bit and she wasn't about to allow her Chimchar to lose to it now.
Chimchar rolled to the right, making the vines hit the ground before her twirled and used a scratch attack on the flower looking Pokemon.

The Bellsprout tried to dodge the attack in the same manner she had in the first attempt, but she wasn't quick enough and her frail little body was scratched.
She didn't move much, though. Her roots kept her planted firmly in the ground and she just wobbled slightly, then shook herself. {Stupid ape. . . I'll show you what a big mistake that was,} she muttered, narrowing her eyes.
Again, vines appeared from under her leaves and she lashed out at the Chimchar, trying to use Vine Whip. Maybe it wouldn't effect him very much, but any damage was better than no damage.

Chimchar was hit, only to do a somersault and move back some, ass Namine called out, "Scratch again!"
Chimchar knew his cue, and rolled back, ready to claw at the Bellsprout again with scratch.

Bellsprout decided that she had to move. She pulled up her roots and took two steps to the side and bent over to the left, the Chimchar missing her thin body by inches, and she snapped back into an up-right position.
Once straight, the Bellsprout lashed out with her vines toward the Chimchar, trying to Wrap him up and keep him from doing too much. He would probably still be able to attack, but Bellsprout would cause him damage for a few turns before she had to let go of him.
