The Swablu first went to her trainer, landing on his head like a hat made out of clouds to wake him up. She wasn't really heavy and Soren didn't seem to be waking up so she used her head feathers to tickle his nose a bit until the trainer finally woke up. As Soren tried to shake away the sleep the Jigglypuff had caused, the Swablu then floated over to the injured Jigglypuff and ran her wings over the wounds, unable to heal them but hopefully soothing them a bit. Soren could not believe that he had gotten taken off guard like this. Shaking head a bit and rubbing his nose where the Swablu had tickled him, trying to rid of the remnants of sleep, he took in his surroundings. At least he hadn't slept for long. The forest looks just like how he remembered it, before that pink Pokémon put him to sleep. He looked over and spotted the Pokémon in question, next to his own. He hadn't named his Swablu yet, he thought. And what was he going to do with that Jigglypuff? It wasn't a flying type, so it did not quirk his interest. Would catching it and sending it to his personal computer be a bit too much of a cruel fate? Or would leaving it here to die be even worse? In the end, he tossed the pokeball at the Pokémon. Maybe he could sell trade it later on or something. ::pokeball::

Jigglypuff humphed and allowed the pokeball to tap him and envelope his body in vibrant red light. She knew that the trainer and pokemon hadn't appreciated his song, but at least they responded better to it than his neighbors. Also, going on a journey wouldn't hurt - he was getting fed up with living in the dump of a forest anyway.
The ball vibrated for a little bit, then slowed to a stop and emitted a sharp beep.
You caught Jigglypuff!

Soren took the now immobile pokeball from the ground and examined it for a few seconds. He then placed it onto his open pokedex and allowed the Jigglypuff to be transported to his personal computer. With that done, he looked over to his Swablu, who was comfortably nestled in her own down.
"Nayj," he said. The pokemon looked up at him quizzically. He didn't say another word, though, and returned the newly dubbed pokemon into her pokeball before slipping it in his pouch with the rest of his team. Scanning the ground one last time to make sure he didn't drop anything, Soren kept walking, allowing the wind to guide his steps and tickle his feet with the swaying grass. The pokemon would understand, eventually, and she too would learn how to get the most out of his rare words and brief commands.

Soren wasn't the only one letting the winds guide him. Off to the side of the road, about 20 feet ahead or so, was a pair of Pokémon. They had little way of travel besides the wind and wholly relied on it. The two pink balls seemed to be sharing some sort of inside joke and one would talk and the other would laugh, then vice versa. They then looked towards Soren, and both burst out in laughter, enough so that one forgot to hold onto an anchor and almost drifted off into the distance. She managed to grab onto a root at the last second though. ::hoppip:: Do you wonder what they're laughing about and ask them? Or move on?

Soren had absolutely no interest in encountering more pink Pokémon than necessary. That Jigglypuff earlier was enough already, and this Pokémon came in pairs. He only took out his pokedex -- Hoppip, he noted -- for long enough to log the entry down. It might prove to be useful later on in case he meet another one of them. The red device told him that this was not the first time he saw these floating pokemon, though Soren was unable to remember when and where he had seen another one. It might have simply been a quick glimpse of the local flora at one point. A glance was the only other attention he paid to the two Pokémon as he walked pass them, his pace never changing.
It wasn't that he wasn't curious, as he did kind of want to know what was amusing the Hoppip. Both humans are pack animals -- they thrive to be included. But he was better than all of them. He would not succumb to such a mundane, human desire.

The Hoppip that grabbed the tree root smiled again. <Why is that weird human looking at us? Can't he tell us apart?>
The other Hoppip giggled. Probably not. Nobody can tell us apart. It replied. It switched from grabbing a leaf to grabbing a flower stem, slowing moving it's way along the ground. <Maybe we should go play the 'which one is Pip' game with him! It suddenly muttered excitedly. <If we win, he has to give us some food!
The two Hoppips, named Pip and Pop, laughed again and started to move towards Soran. It seemed that the twins were hungry and preyed on both pokemon and humans with this game.

It took Soren just a bit too long to realize that the pink pokemon were headed to him. They had somehow managed to sneak towards him and he was not too happy that he hadn't felt them earlier. Now, he could not even pretend to ignore them as they were much too close for it to be polite. But when had he even really bothered about being polite? The only other human that had been polite to him had been his mother. Everyone else treated him like a pest, a half-breed, something... something to be laughed at and ridiculed.
So Soren walked faster, blatantly ignoring the two pokemon whilst focusing on the horizon ahead and nothing else, allowing his mind to be filled with nothing but the trees ahead, nothing but their leaves, and nothing else. He didn't want to think about anything else at the moment.

<Hey, trainer!> Said one of the Hoppips. <Wait up!> Called the other. Getting ahead of him was proving to be a challenge. The wind just wasn't strong enough and the twosome were doing more running than walking. Finally, one of them stopped, a clapped his hands/paws together. A golden light surrounded him briefly. The other the used splash. With the helping hand increasing his strength, he took his brothers hand and bounced. Normally, a splash doesn't do much. But apparently, out of battle and combined with a helping hand, it resembles more of a Bounce. The twosome landed in front of Soren. <Let's play the which one is Pip game!> They chimed in unison. ::hoppip:: Hoppip used Helping Hand Hoppip used Splash

It is exceedingly hard to concentrate on something when one is bothered by annoying pink pokemon, Soren decided. Especially when they entered his field of vision. At least, he wasn't thinking about anything unpleasant.
He looked at the two seemingly identical pokemon. Actually, they were perfectly identical. Those same beady eyes looked up at him, and even the leaves on their head looked alike. They even spoke in sync, and it was rather unnerving. And... they wanted him to play a game...?
Without a word, he pointed at random to the one on the right. His odds were not horrible, at this... game. Though it could turn out that neither of them was 'Pip' and they were simply jesting him. Actually, how could he even trust them not to lie to him? They had just met, and with the limited information that he had, it was more than possible that they could pretend that the one he did not pick was Pip. Soren was definitely over thinking the situation.

The right hoppip froze a bit as Soren's finger pointed directly at her. Quivering slightly, she wailed, <Oh no!! He got it right! I totally thought I looked the same as you, Pop!> The other hoppip became angry and turned towards the trainer. <Hey! You didn't have to make her cry, punk!!> She said, and attempted to tackle Soren in revenge for her twin sister.

Soren was completely surprised by the attack. Though the little body didn't hurt much, it did shock him. How was he to know that guessing the correct Hoppip would result in an attack? He had obviously not thought of that scenario. Besides, didn't the Pokémon know that there was a fifty percent chance Pip was on the right? It could have easily been the other one. He had done nothing for the odds to favour him. He went to push the offending Pokémon off his chest with one hand while fetching for a pokeball with his other, letting out Nayj, his swablu. The small Pokémon would be rather useful in this battle. His pokedex had recorded a strange attack while he slept under the influence of the jigglypuff and he wanted to see it himself. Did Nayj also know another attack that the pokedex had not known to tell him about? ::Swablu:: Nayj

Hoppip growled as the trainer shoved her away. <Oooh, I'll get you..!> She challenged, raising her fists, before she saw the swablu exit the ball Soren had grabbed. <Stay over there, Pip, while I take care of this,> Said Pop, nodding solemnly to her twin sister. With tears in her eyes Pip floated over to a low branch in a tree and held onto it, watching the battle meanwhile.
Pop shook her tail at Nayj, intent on lowering the little bird's defense before rushing at her with the intent of tackling her. She was outraged that the trainer was so mean to her sister!

Soren peered at the Pokémon before him. She seemed to be doing something, but he could not really see anything changing. Then he noticed it -- apparently, the Hoppip had a tail. He hadn't even seen it until now, but it the little nub was moving back and forth just a little bit. It was quite odd, and he wondered what it was for. Unfortunately, he only realized it once it was too late and the Hoppip attacked his pokemon, slamming into her, doing quite a bit of damage. Tail Whip. Perfect for distractions, he told himself. Well, once a wild Pokémon attacked, it was free game, right? Turning to his pokemon, still recovering from the attack -- and she didn't look too happy. She hadn't even done anything! -- and commanded her to fight. He glanced at the pokedex only to check the name, before speaking. "Heat Wave." Nayj was not happy. She had been resting in her pokeball when her trainer called her out. Of course, that wasn't a bad thing, but then she was attacked! For such a small and light pokemon, the Hoppip did a lot more to her than she expected. Once the command hit her ear, she spread her wings out to her side to ready the attack. The air around her grow hotter and hotter before she sent it toward the grass Pokémon. Nayj<Heat Wave>

Heat Wave? A Swablu shouldn't know that. But here was one using it. Pop used Splash, trying to get away from the heat. She wouldn't be able to survive it. Not only would it be a critical hit, but since she and Pip usually fought as a team, she wasn't used to not having her sister to rely on.
The heat washed over her. She felt the leaves on her head burn to brown and black charr. She felt her strength get sapped from her. This wasn't fun anymore. It was supposed to be a game. But this trainer had gone to far. Admitidly, Pip had attacked. It had just spun completely out of control.
Pip watched her sister go down. She didn't really want to fight anymore, especially since the bird knew a really strong fire move.
::Hoppip:: Pop has fainted. Catch?

The rush of wind from the attack mesmerized Soren. The movement of the air, rising as it heated up and then sweeping over the pokemon, was simply beautiful. He felt a rush, watching feeling his Pokémon use the attack, a rush that only subsided when the air flow was back to normal, a few seconds after the attack. Only then did he allow himself to look at the damage that had been done. "Return," he told the swablu, not quite tucking her back into her pokeball. Instead, she flew over to him and nestled herself on her favorite place -- on top of his head. Soren knew he probably looked rather silly, but who was there to see him in the middle of the forest? (Though there were trainers still around. Hopefully none were too close by.) He looked at the fallen Hoppip and did feel a bit guilty. But what was guilt going to change? The deed was done. Yet he was still unable to just walk away from all of this. After years of war and destroying opposite clans, he was still this weak. He closed his eyes for a few seconds and tried to convince himself to either walk away or do something. Standing there was not going to solve anything. He took a deep breath, breathing in the gentle perfume of the forest, and opened his eyes, accepting his decision on the matter. He slipped a hand in his pouch, rummaging around a bit before he felt what he was looking for. Soren walked over to the fallen Pokémon and used a potion on it.

Pip waited a moment after Pop fell before moving slowly towards her fallen sister. <Sis? Come on... Lets go home.... Sis....> Sure she understood that she was fainted but she'd come to soon... Right?
Pip wasn't watching Soren, much more preoccupied by her sister, so when he appeared by her side, at Pop's side, she was startled to say the least. A high pitched 'eep' escaped her small mouth as she, quite quickly, escaped to the other side of her sister. A fainted Pokémon was a good shield you know!
Pip watched as he bent over and gave a strange liquid substance to her sister. <What? What are you doing?!
She yelled as she leaped in front of her sister, but the "damage" had been done. Only after a few seconds of glaring however did she hear a muffled grumble of words. Looking back at her sister she screamed again. <POP! POP YOU'RE ALIVE!> It seems that Pip was more concerned that her sister was alive then the fact that she was standing on her face. Oh Pip.... All participating pokemon gain one level :3

Soren stood up, shaking the empty can of potion and experimentally tried to use it again. A few lingering drops were forced out before nothing once again. With no more use for it, he tossed the empty bottle into a thicket. He walked around the Hoppip, not even casting them another glance. Well, that was that. The Pokémon were fine, he did not have any lingering feelings of remorse or guilt, and he had nothing to do with them anymore. As he walked away, he reached to the top of his head, where his Swablu was. He stroked Nayj's cloudy down before returning her to her pokeball and back into his pouch.

The Hoppip let Soren leave without another word. They no longer wanted to play with him. If anything, they only wanted to go home and sleep. No more talking to strangers who were human. Nope nope.
The path of Route One seemed oddly quiet though. No pokemon seemed to stir at the path's edges, no sounds of pokemon sounded overly close, and it seemed peaceful. A bit too much so. Since when did Route One have nothing happening? Where were the trainers? The pokemon? The random littered objects that laid in the middle of the path? Or even the rain clouds that randomly swooped in on unsuspecting new trainers that forgot an umbrella?
Will you continue on the path or venture off into the woods?

The quietness of route one was gone unnoticed for a while as Soren walked, happy to have found the main road. It was much more comfortable than bushwhacking where the uneven ground and occasional twigs would injure his foot a bit. Not to mention his footwear was more than inappropriate for long walks. But it was all he had, and though he longed for boots, the sandals were a gift from his dearest friend and from where he came from, they weren't the worst in the market. Nevertheless, the knights and mercenaries usually wore boots. But then again, they had to travel further than he did. At the time, at least.
When Soren did notice the odd silence that choked the route, he stilled. The sound of the earth, giving from his steps stilled as well. The eeriness was enough to give him goosebumps, especially when the wind also seemed to die down to near nothingness. This lack of noise was never a good sign. The skies were clear, or at least they had been last time he checked, which meant that birds and their prey should be audible in a forest like this. Soren held his cape slightly closer to him -- not for reassurance of course; it was getting chilly -- while one of his hands sneaked into his pouch for a pokeball, just in case. Maybe this was paranoia, he told himself. The birds probably There shouldn't be anything in this route that would be detrimental to newcomers like him! Those Pokémon all migrate to the stronger routes where they could find suitable opponents!
Keeping his eyes closed, focusing on his surroundings and listening to any changes in the wind, Soren carefully took a step forward, conscious of the loud noise he made as the sole of his footwear grated against the hardened soil.

<Oh geez! Oh geez! Oh geez!> A high pitched squeal interrupted the odd silence; ruffles from the nearby bushes instantly gave a location to the echoing sound. From the prickly leaves a purple blur emerged, half exhausted with her pupils completely enlarged. She had the form of a small rat, possibly the runt of her Rattata litter.
She stopped as she turned nervously behind her, hearing the crackling of the fallen leaves a little distance away. With her body growing stiff, she prepared to run again with her gaze constantly shifting behind her when she was unknowingly about to make a tackle on Soren's leg.
