Jake’s ears twitched when Spearow dove down toward him in a Peck attack and flattened to block out the sound of beating wings from breaking through his thoughts. He was frozen to the spot, his eyes locking with the Spearow’s own. Don’t think he can win with just fancy lightning? He was about to conjure a retort when he realised that the Flying Pokémon was right. He couldn’t just send up random bolts of electricity and hope that one of them hit; he had to make his attacks as effective as possible. As the Spearow plunged down toward him, Pichu smiled warmly at the Pokémon – charmingly – and then ducked down to avoid being hit. Hopefully as the Spearow soared back up, he could cling to its wings and unleash a Thundershock. If he was hit, he would let the Spearow hit him and dig his feet into the ground and use Thundershock anyway.

::spearow:: note: you choose if you want to dodge or not. you do not give the option to a moderator to decide. you make the events, we keep them flowing. for now i will play along though. didn't dodge.
The Spearow squaked as the Pichu dug into his wing and let out electricity. The electricity ran through the bird body, causing him to flap his winds to try and rid of it, but it was a strong bolt of energy. Once the move had finished the Spearow kicked and got rid of the Pichu from his foot. He didn't want it clinging to him. He leered at the Pichu as he shook his leg to try and rid of the vermin before deciding that once it left go to peck.

Jake smiled when the move hit successfully; the Spearow must have felt that one! He squeaked with surprise when he felt himself being kicked. He looked up and went into another Charm attack, which would again sharply reduce the Spearow’s attack power, and let go of its leg. As he fell, the Spearow plummeted toward him once more to peck him and Jake curled up into a protective ball when the sharp beak flew toward him. A Flying type move didn’t do much to Jake’s species anyway, and even so there was a chance the Pokémon would be paralysed by his Static ability anyway. The peck sent him spiralling to the ground, where the small Electric type landed with a grunt. “Nice move,” Jake smiled to the Spearow, and released another charge of electricity from his cheeks.

OoC; You didn't say if the Charm had any effect. I've used two now? One Charm sharply lowers Attack (2 stages).

The Spearow felt himself charmed by the Pichu and chose to take it easy on him. He was shocked by another thunder shock which messed with his feathers like crazy, but yet he was still heavily charmed by the pokemon and did not find Jake to be an opponent he really wanted to attack. >You are nice. Do you know that! You are pretty awesome.< He said as he started to loosen up his offense against the Pichu like crazy. But he wasn't going to give Jake this easy win. He still sharpened his beak and aimed it at the Pichu, but with a slight hesitation as he really did not want to harm the pokemon at all. It seemed Jake was having a good effect on him... ::Spearow:: (-4 attack) Hit by Thunder Shock. Hit by Charm. Used Peck on Jake

Smiling happily when the Spearow told him that he was a nice, awesome Pokémon, Jake jumped up happily into a little dance. His charm attacks were working! “You’re awesome, too!” Jake squeaked innocently. The Peck attack hit his shoulder, and though it didn’t hurt much, Jake still felt pain from it. As soon as it hit, Jake released another Thundershock, which he hoped would surge through the Flying Type’s body and weaken it again. Sure, Jake didn’t want to hurt the Pokémon, because he was acting so friendly, but Silver hadn’t told him to return yet, so he had to remain in battle. “Your beak is so sharp and your feathers are so sleek and glossy!” He flattered the Pokémon. He wanted to run his paw along the brown feathers and just stop the battle, but that wasn’t his choice to make.

OOC: might wanna edit your status cuz we're attacking you. Also, static is on so I have rolled for paralysis. 1-30, paralyzed. It was 46. Now I rolled for paralysis for the thundershock 1-10: paralyzed. Roll was a 9
Again, the wild spearow was charmed by the compliments. He looked at the pichu, blushing at his comments. He did like getting compliments, and he was very modest of it.
<Thanks. I have been working on my beak and wings. Your fur really ELECTRIFYING!> He said as he took the thundershock once more. He then attempted another peck attack, but the sparks going across his wings were messing with his attack power and speed. Nevertheless, he pushed through to give Jake the best fight ever!

Pichu smiled, his fur standing up on end and he waved his arm as the Spearow dived toward him again. “Well you’re doing a wonderful job!” Jake said as he took the Peck. He loved battling with the Spearow and he would love to be able to fight alongside this Flying type. But even so, surely he couldn’t take much more damage from the Thundershocks? He had taken three now, but at least that meant he was resilient. His attacks barely did anything when they hit his body, but his chest was starting to get a bit sore from the pricking sensation. “You’re so strong and quick, Spearow!” Jake praised excitedly. This battle was awesome! Suddenly Jake’s cheeks sparked with golden lightning before it streaked across the skies, crackling and speeding with jagged movements.

Wild Spearow! [atrb=border,0,true]
{ Spearow } Hit by Thundershock (SE) Fainted. Pichu gains a level.

<IIeeeeeee!> The Spearow cried as the weak, yet super effective attack, shot through his body. Being in mid air made it especially worse, as it had nowhere to go except in his body. He fell right to the ground, hissing as the sparks were filled into the ground. It looked as if he still had the will to battle, especially with that fierce look in his eyes.
His feathers were charred and dirty, as if he was Hobo the Clown that entertained others under the light of a Double Rainbow. He grunted once to the Pichu, no words specifically said, but meaning was shown in that look.
Then, in a dramatic fall to the ground, the bird laid in a mix of grass and snow. Eyes were shut tight as he forced his body to rest, just so he could later wake and jump right back into his wild activities.

As soon as the last Thundershock hit, Jake had a feeling that it was over. He had taken so much damage from his electrical attacks that it was hard to believe he could endure so much. Even so, now it was over, and as the Spearow fell to the ground, Jake rushed over to check on the Flying Type. It would be alright if given some time to recover. His black-tipped ears twitched and he smiled with surprise when cheering erupted from John, Jerome, Chakotay and even Luna. His first successful battle! Yes!
Backing up, he watched as Silver threw the Pokéball at the Flying type in an attempt to capture it. As soon as the Spearow’s fate had been decided, Jake would return to Near and relax, hopefully eat an Oran Berry to restore his strength...
Silver has attempted a Capture. Succeeded?

snow fell on top of the felled bird. He laid there motionless, unable to resist any form of capture. He fainted and became unaware of much of his surroundings. All he was aware of was he lost. As the snow gently landed on his feathers, the spearow could only feel the cold getting onto him. Was he going to keep getting colder? Or perhaps get warm? Only his trainer will know what will happen to him.

POKEMON CAPTURED! // Name: Janeway Sex: Female Level: 7 Abilities: Keen Eye Moves: Leer, Peck, Growl Silver’s first battle had ended with a success; Jake was alright and feeling great about having won, but at the same time, the Spearow was hurt, and she needed to tend to her wounds. Releasing it back from the Pokéball, Silver wrapped her up in a soft blanket, making sure that her feathers were drying before she nodded approvingly to Jake and gave his Pokéball back to Near. For a moment, she checked her vital signs, and the Spearow began to stir in her grip. “Easy,” she murmured softly, stroking the Spearow’s head feathers. “Well, I guess you need a name, don’t you? How about we call you Janeway?” The Spearow nodded weakly, but smiled at her new tamer and nuzzled into Silver’s neck to sleep. At least now she wouldn’t have to worry about food... THREAD FINISHED.
