It appeared that their strategy change had again taken the snowcone by surprise, but Parker still found himself smashing into its hardened body rather painfully. The opponent was definitely weakening, but the Zigzagoon was beginning to lose his energy as well. Jazlyn bit her lip. She didn't want Parker to get too weak.
"Try the sneak attack again!" Jaz called. The ice cream-shaped Pokemon didn't seem to be overly bright, so she figured that another sneaky Tackle might work. Unfortunately, Parker timed it a bit wrong, as he was beginning to get tired, and ended up with icicles stuck in his tail. Nonetheless, he rushed forward and leaped up to once again attempt to hit the snowcone from behind. hit by icicle spear, used tackle.

The small snow cone thingy yelped as the Tackle hit once again. She couldn't stay in the air anymore and hovered slightly above ground. She panted, this was a lot harder than she thought it was! Her family behind her cheered her on, which made her do one last attack. She formed 4 icicle spears above her head and aimed it for the Zigzagoon, she shot them, making them fly as she giggled stupidly. <Taaaake this!> She exclaimed.

The ice cream cone was definitely starting to get worn out now. Jazlyn was determined to get this fight over with so she could get to the Pokemon Center and heal up her battle-weakened team, so she didn't hesitate to give Parker a command. "All right, smash through them again and Tackle!"
At his trainer's words, the Zigzagoon, though tired, ran forward and leaped up at the icicles, feeling them shatter against his head as he did so, and aimed at the ice-type before him. hit by icicle spear, used tackle.

The Small ice cream cone was hit by the Tackle and fell out of the air. She landed on the ground with a thud and groaned painfully. There was more to this battling stuff than she thought! It was hard, and painful! She admitted defeat and nodded towards the Zigzagoon. <That was fun! If we meet, let's do it again!> She said happily and went back to her family. The others happily told the young one what she did wrong and what to do next time. She smiled back and went with her family to find somewhere colder.

The last Tackle was successful, and little Parker puffed out his chest with pride at his first win in battle. "Good work!" Jazlyn praised him, before pulling out his Poke Ball and recalling the TinyRaccoon with a flash of red light. By the time she looked back up, all of the snowcone Pokemon had left. They must have headed back off toward Mt. Silver. The girl shrugged, and continued on her way to stop by the Pokemon Center and get her team healed.
--insert time passing here--
With her team fully healed and her mind set on getting them some more training, Jaz had gone back out onto the first route. Along the way she had discovered a rather fiesty Barboach, which she caught near a stream. It was by this stream that she had decided to take a break and rest. Ivy was back on her usual perch atop her trainer's head, looking around nervously. <Jaz, we should really try to find the trail again,> the Hoppip said. <We could easily get lost out here.>

oo1. with a single step
As if on cue, a Pokemon suddenly walked out of the bushes and in front of Jazlyn. It was a small bird. She seemed to be just an orginary Pidgey until she suddenly bent her right wing against her hip and held her left wing out like a salute and began to sing. ::pidgey:: <"I'm a little teapot, short and stout! Here is my handle! Here is my spout! When I get all steamed up, here me shout! Tip me over and pour me out!"> she sang. At the final line, she stood on one leg and leaned over slightly. She waited for the Trainer's response in this position.
- Pidgey started singing to you! What will you do?

Jazlyn turned and began to look around to figure out which way would lead her back to the trail, only to come to the realization that all of the directions looked exactly the same. She was most definitely lost. "Uh..." she said out loud, not to anyone in particular, and waited for Ivy to point out the obvious.
However, before the little Hoppip could chastise her trainer for getting them lost, or even panic, or do anything for that matter, there was a rustling sound. Before their eyes a Pidgey appeared. "Oh, we can ask it for directions!" Jaz said, suddenly feeling more optimistic. But as she took a few steps forward to do so, the Pidgey suddenly began to sing, with her wings posing as if she really was a teapot. Jazlyn raised an eyebrow and Ivy looked generally unamused. "Um...excuse me..." the girl said to the flying-type as the Pidgey stood on one leg and leaned over. "Do you know the way back to the trail that leads through here?"

The Pidgey blinked at the Trainer's question. Then, the answer popped in her brain. <Oh!> She pointed her wing to the left. <Try that way!> She said happily. She put her talon down and smiled at the Trainer. <Did you like it? Huh? Huh? I was practicing!> She said proudly. She hopped around some more, lifting her wings as if she was dancing. <Was it good?> She asked again. She really wanted to know how it looked, she had been practicing a lot over the past few weeks. But none of her friends would tell her how she looked.
She stopped right in front of the girl and blinked with her big eyes. If you said she was awful, or bad, well be ready to swim in a river of tears. But how could you say no to a Pidgey with wide eyes and a cute smile? You couldn't really unless you were a very cold person.

Well, at least the Pidgey seemed to have a sense of direction. Jazlyn hoped that the singing bird really did know her way around the forest. She glanced off in the direction that the flying-type had pointed; it still didn't look any different than the rest of the forest to her. "Okay," she said, smiling, "Thank you!" Jaz was about to leave, when suddenly the Pidgey spoke up once more, this time asking the human's opinion of her singing.
"Oh, yes," Jaz replied, giving the little bird a smile. "It was wonderful." In reality, she mostly just thought it was a little weird, but she didn't want to make the Pidgey sad. "What are you practicing for?" There had to be some reason why this little flying-type was singing out of nowhere. Perhaps she was going to show off for her other Pidgey friends or something.

Pidgey blinked upon being asked what for. >Well... isn't it obvious?< she asked, blinking as she tilted her head at the Trainer. After staring at her for a few seconds straight. >It's spring soon... and we all want mates.<She scratched her head with a talon. >I'm not very good at dancing... so I thought I'd try my claw at singing instead.< She blinked a few more times. >I thought it would be obvious.< ::pidgey::

Jazlyn listened to the Pidgey's explanation, and was a little surprised at the fact that the purpose of the bird's singing was supposed to be obvious. It seemed that Pokemon were more complicated than the girl had originally thought.
"O-oh, really?" she replied sheepishly. "Well I...I don't know very much about that type of thing. I'm sure you will find someone wonderful, though!"
Ivy piped up, in hopes of covering for her trainer. <Don't mind her, she hasn't been around Pokemon for very long.> Jaz gave the Hoppip an annoyed glance. <I thought it was great!> Ivy was always one to try and make things optimistic.

The Pidgey started to laugh. The Hoppip and her Trainer seemed to be quite close. The Pidgey actually envied that kind of relationship. She didn't really have too many friends around here and it was lonely now that it was winter. Perhaps she could ask the Trainer for a battle or something. That's usually how it was done in the Pokemon world. ::pidgey:: <"Um... Can I ask a weird question? Do you think we might be able to battle or something? That's how you usually get captured, right?"> she asked. She tilted her head slightly since she wasn't sure. However, she suddenly had a strange and almost violent urge to start singing again. For some unknown reason, she really did start to sing again! ::pidgey:: <"California girls, we're unforgettable! Daisy dukes, bikinis on top! Sun-kissed skin, so hot, we'll melt your popsicle!!"> she sang. She was suddenly much happier and much brighter than earlier.
- Pidgey is challenging you to a battle!
- Pidgey started singing California Gurls!
