One brow rose slightly at the timid pokemon's response. By all accounts it should be furious with him, for having let his pokemon do whatever they wanted. Still he wasn't about to tell the little pokemon that, and smiled at the bug, waving one hand slightly.
"Don't worry about it little guy! Accidents happen all the time! As for Abby over there, i'm sure she didn't mean to harm you! She probably just got a little too excited... right abby?" the last words he spoke he said with a somewhat darker tone, glaring over at his abra, who was still laughing, but shook her head vigorously in agreement to his words.
Focusing on the caterpie once more though his smile returned. "So you enjoy a good view huh? Well I just started my journey. I haven't gotten far yet but I'm sure i'll see a lot of amazing scenic views on my journey! Want to come with me? I promise i'll protect you from Abby too!"Extending a hand, palm up, to the bug pokemon he gestured with his other hand for the pokemon to get on.
"If you're interested come on! I'm sure there are some really nice places on this route, maybe some you've always wanted to see but never had the chance to? I was looking for an excuse to leave this path and explore the area! Interested in such an adventure caterpie?"

Caterpie was a little taken aback by the Trainer's kindness. Usually a Trainer would send their partner pokémon to attack the poor little Caterpie. All he ever wanted was to see the most wondrous of views and to be left alone!
The tiny bug gazed up at Duke. Did he really mean it? Would he really protect him from that nasty Abra? He peered over at the Abra then, irritated that it was still laughing. He shot a sticky String Shot at the telepathic fox out of anger. <She's mean> he said with an apologetic tone as he turned back to Duke.
Caterpie wasn't sure what to do. If he stayed here, he could see the same view every morning from his house. But that was the point, wasn't it? It would be the same view every morning. The EXACT same view. He had to know something first.
<If... I go with you... will you show me the... oc-...ocean?>

The ocean eh? Hmm there were probably a ton of amazingly awesome pokemon there...and brie would probably love it too! Yeah, and worst came to worst at least he'd always have a back up worm for fishing...
Snickering a little at his own joke, even if no one else had heard it, Duke withdrew his hand, pulling out a pokeball now instead. Enlarging the ball he held it out towards the caterpie.
"I'll take you to the ocean. The only condition I have for you is that you let me sometimes use you in pokemon battles. I know that's kind of scary sounding, but I'll make sure you don't get bad hurt, and plus you'll be stronger! Getting to see the ocean and being able to easily defend yourself, sounds like a bargain to me." he said, watching abby struggling in the sticky webs the caterpie had shot out, happy to see the psi pokemon had stopped laughing, now mumbling incomprehensibly as it randomly teleported about, trying to somehow teleport without the gooey fibres coming with it.
"Uh yeah, so if you accept my conditions just touch that white button on the pokeball and lets get this show on the road!"

::caterpie:: Duke made some pretty strong points in his persuasion. Caterpie considered these for a moment. Well, if he didn't go with Duke he'd have little to no chance of seeing the ocean, and becoming strong sounded simply heavenly to him. He'd been unable to guard himself from nesting birds often when he went sight-seeing in the trees.
His friends had told him that Caterpies like him evolved from lowly worms to beautiful Butterfrees. Although he'd never considered becoming one of these magnificent creatures, simply frightened at the thought of battle, Duke seemed like a trainer that could take his abilities and use them proficiently enough so that he could grow stronger. He'd finally become as beautiful as the views he sought after.
Nearly grinning with joy, the caterpillar looked into the trainer's eyes and made his declaration. <I'll go with you, for sure!> He squeaked.

Though his attention was focused on the cute little worm struggling to decide whether to accept his offer or not, out of the corner of his eye he couldn't help but notice Abby, now on her back, having somehow managed to get the string from most of her body moved down to her hands and feet. Unforunately for her though, while trying to remove the string from her hands and feet, it had stuck together and now she was rolling around unable to even stand.
Looking rather concerned, Brie cautiously approached. After her battle with this pokemon she had discovered a new move, and though she wasn't sure how powerful it was, surely it could break those strings!
<Hope this works...>
A torrent of water burst from the buizel's mouth, the water gun attack striking the flailing pokemon's bound limbs, soaking the strings, which began to loose their adhesive properties.
While Brie beamed in delight at her new skills effectiveness, and Abby scrambled to remove the last of the strings, the small caterpie spoke up. Smiling down at it he was pleased to hear its descision to join him.
"Great! Welcome to the team then Strings!" he replied, pressing the pokeball as gently as he could against the small worm pokemon.

Caterpie felt himself become absorbed into the Pokeball with a sigh of relief. His eyes closed as the comforting, warm red light enveloped him, and he snuggled down in the Pokeball. This was nicer than he had thought. Curling up into a little green ball, Caterpie settled down in the dark comfort of his new home, and dreamed dreams of the ocean he was soon to see. Duke smiled as the caterpie quickly submitted to the ball, becoming his third pokemon. Ha, this pokemon trainer thing wasn't that hard! Three pokemon were already his, and he hadn't even had to truly battle!
Smiling to himself the young man regarded his pokemon for a moment, before returning brie and abby to their pokeballs. He needed a little time to himself, to just soak it all in and enjoy his new found freedom.
Turning from the trail Duke wandered through the grass, eager to find more pokemon to join his team.

::whismur:: Pkmn encounter ! A Whismur was strolling through the trees, keeping a cool expression on his face. He was the baddest of all piglets, and there was no use trying to be better than him. His stomping hooves cared not whether there were sticks or leaves in front of him; he crushed anything in his way, merciless.
His eyes fell upon a human and his pokemon - potential victims! He sashayed closer to see what they were up to. He hadn't had a lot of fun that day, so he decided to fool around with these two and see what their reactions were - well, obviously, they'd submit to him, the most powerful piglet of them all!
Jumping out from his hiding place, the pink pokemon smirked and looked up challengingly. <Bow down to me, fools!> He said, snapping one of his paws as if to say 'chop chop!'

The journey so far had been pretty relaxed and peaceful. His partner was a rather quiet but agreeable pokemon, and both his newest pokemon Abby and Strings, were pretty great too. Abby was the playful type, even if she had a temper, while Strings was a timid and kind pokemon. While both were not very fearsome, Duke none the less had a feeling that they'd one day become very powerful and useful pokemon.
With such a positive start to his adventures, Duke was completely unprepared for this next encounter. As he roamed through the grass his mind was once again day dreaming, oblivious to the small pink pokemon approaching him.
<Bow down to me, fools!>
The words, spoken from so close by, and being so completely random startled the trainer. With a muffled cry of alarm he back peddled, having very nearly ran the small pokemon over. As he struggled to keep his distance, Duke fell backwards, landing with a hard thump on his rear, and triggering one of his pokeballs to open.
Dazed and confused, Duke watched as his newest companion, Strings, emerged in front of him staring up at the large overconfident pokemon with a look of fear.
<W-What's going on!> Strings blurted out, even as the small caterpillar raced behind one of Duke's legs, peeking out wearily at the strange pokemon.

Pkmn encounter ! Whismur grinned when the trainer stumbled backward. Well, he'd accept that as a bow. Not like he would've done it willingly, otherwise.
Soon a Caterpie appeared in front of him as well, cowering in fear at just the sight of his big, pink bulk. He grinned at the feeling of power this gave him, reveling in it even as the small worm squirmed to go grovel behind Duke's leg. Ah, how he loved messing with people - it was so much fun.
<I see you two are wise.> He said with a kingly grin. Raising one of his paws, he snapped it as he issued another command: <Now, bring me some berries. My favorites are Lansac and Liechi. Hurry along now, fools.>

While the pink tyrant rambled on about whatever strange things it wanted, Duke pulled out his pokedex. He was on a mission to become a pokemon master after all, and that meant he had to know what he was dealing with. Whismur the Whisper pokemon. Normally, Whismur's voice is very quiet - it is barely audible even if one is paying close attention. However, if this Pokémon senses danger, it starts crying. Its cries equal a jet plane in volume. It inhales through its ear canals. Because of this system, it can cry continually without having to catch its breath. This pokemon was normally quiet? Well...considering how loud this one was already, he could just imagine the noise it would make if it actually started crying. Glancing over at Strings, Duke smiled slightly. He had promise the pokemon he'd make it stronger, and noise couldn't be too damaging right? "Strings use your String Shot on its ears." he whispered as he leaned close to the small pokemon. This thing seemed a little bossy so he definitely had to humble it a little. Besides, if its ears were clogged, he doubted it'd put up much of a fight. <O-Ok boss...> Strings murmured, slowly inching its way towards the much larger pink pokemon, before lifting its head up. Moments later the white gooey fibres began to launch from its mouth, aiming for the Whismur's ears. ::caterpie:: Strings used String Shot on Whismur!

<W-what is this madness? You dare defy me?> The Whismur exclaimed, hopping to the side in fright of the sticky string. There was no way he was allowing that gross stuff to soil his royal pink fur! Lifting his floppy ears up in the air with his powerful ear muscles, he began to inhale air. As if this wasn't enough of a clue as to which attack he was going to use, his mouth started to stretch open like it was made of rubber. Finally, a horrible scream erupted from his mouth. It was loud, high pitched, and enough to make anyone's ears bleed.
The Uproar was even worse than someone's bad singing. Heck, even Sanjaya from American Idol sounded better at this point. He stomped his feet on the ground in his furious temper tantrum, upset that he had suddenly lost his power over these weaklings. If he didn't get what he wanted soon, he was bound to cry even louder.

Ow! Ok, maybe sound could be painful! Covering his ears, Duke watched his small caterpie cringe in front of the loud noise, at a loss what to do now. Focusing as hard as he could, Duke ignored the bird Pokémon that burst from the grass, flying away from the horrid noise, or the way he was getting a nasty headache. Focusing instead on his Caterpie, Duke leaned forward, yelling at the small bug type. "Hurry use Tackle, followed up with another String Shot!" he yelled. With any luck, the tackle would prove enough of a distraction for the string shot to land this time. Shuddering, Strings followed his orders, surging forward, and trying to tackle the noisy Pokémon with all its might. As it charged, its second string shot burst outwards, though since Duke hadn't mentioned aiming for the ears again, it shot this one at the Whismur's mouth. Whismur scheeched as the attack hit. The String Shot was fired, and landed... In his mouth? Spitting violently on the ground, Whismur couldn't speak. This. Was. So. DISGUSTING! He tried to yell, but failed.
Practically screaming on the inside, Whismur stood up. He had been effected by both attacks. He had recovered from Tackle easily, but not String Shot. He continued to spit, though eventually, with his paws, he got the web-like string out.
He had hated it. He couldn't really use Uproar for the time being, so he went towards the bug, ready for pay-back.

"Yeah that's the way!" Duke cried out, jumping to his feet as String connected with not just one, but both attacks. This little guy clearly knew what he was doing, even if he acted all timid and afraid. Though Duke was brimming with confidence in his pokemon, Strings was horrified. The whismur had just been screaming...but now it was attacking him! As the fist came swinging down, the small bug panicked, curling up in a ball. The blow sent the bug rolling backwards, coming to a stop at Dukes feet. Uncurling the small bug was visibly distressed, but not injured enough to stop fighting. Duke had promised he wouldn't let him get too hurt and he had to believe it. "Don't worry Strings! Next time it attacks don't panic. Remember you can move you of the way! You can even attack back. Just stay calm ok? Now again use the string shot tackle combo!"Narrowing his eyes slightly, Strings again moved as fast as he could towards the whismur. Spraying a wide band of string at the pokemon's feet, the caterpie continued it's charge, ready to once more collide with the temporarily silenced pokemon. ::caterpie:: Strings used Tackle and String Shot on Whismur!

Preparing to strike the frightened Caterpie with another Pound like it deserved, the Whismur hadn't seen the incoming String Shot and immediately tripped over it. Feeling the sticky stuff bind his feet down to the ground, he struggled to remove it while the Caterpie rammed into him. Gasping from the pain, the Whismur bumped his head back into the ground, looking like a mess. That was it. He had it. This sticky stuff had to go. With a growl, he started yanking at the string at his mouth and finally managed to pull some of it off.
Sure, there was some left on his feet, but he could get to that later. For now, he had this intense urge to scream. Opening his ears up again, he began to inhale as much fresh air as possible before shouting at the top of his lungs. The Uproar was able to continue once more, unfortunately for both trainer and Pokemon.

There really wasn't much that the two could do. With only two moves at their disposal, and not much size, the two stuck to their current plan. Sure it was frustrating and sure buizel could easily make this battle a lot more interesting, and possibly faster. However Duke had done his research before becoming a trainer, and he knew one day this little fella would become a powerful, versatile butterfree. Duke watched the tiny pokemon as it was buffeted by nosie, noticing it definitely was on the verge of defeat. He had to try something, he couldn't let his pokemon down. "String Shot again at its legs! Then get behind it and use tackle!" Slowly limping forward, string continuing to spray from it's mouth as it sought to circle behind the screaming creature. As its resistance began to wear down, Strings sluggishly began moving in again to deliver yet another tackle. ::caterpie::

No way. Whismur didn't want to be attacked again. As the String Shot came, Whismur tripped, and the Tackle hit him, though since Strings was getting tired, it didn't do as much damage. Whismur broke free after that, ready for another attack.
He began to throw another tantrum, stomping and punching the air. Screaming, Whismur used Uproar. He was starting to wear down, but he wasn't ready to give up yet either.

Duke could see the little pokemon had had enough. As the uproar continued, Strings swayed, struggled to move forward for another tackle, before collapsing. "Good try Strings." Duke said as he returned the small bug type, shrinking the ball and returning it to his belt, before pulling out another pokeball. "You might think you're a king but let me show you the real Champ! Go Brie!"As the buizel appeared, she let out a small cry of delight, briefly turning and hugging Duke, who was somewhat startled by the random act of kindness. The hug was short lived however as Brie covered her ears, cringing at the loud noise coming from the whismur. "Show it your water gun!" he cried, the small weasel turning, a torrent of water bursting from its mouth, towards the pink pokemon. ::buizel:: Brie used Water Gun on Whismur!

The Whismur gave the Caterpie a smug look as it was recalling, thinking rather confidently that it went up a level from that victory. True, it hadn't been knocked out, but he liked to think that he was always getting stronger. It made up for his incredibly girlie pink body, after all. With a gentle pound on his chest at the Buizel's appearance, he tried to assert his male dominance.
<Oh geez, miss pretty in orange. Think you can top me-> This was the point when the Water Gun hit him right in the mouth, making him gag as it was continuously pouring down his throat. Hacking up the extra water, the Whismur looked up at the Buizel quite wearily. Oh heck no. She needed to be punished to trying that on him.
[b<T-take this!>[/b] He cried, pulling against the String Shot that kept his body slow and clumsy. He aimed a Pound attack at her side, since it seemed to be the easiest target to hit. He grunted as he made the move, looking at her face for a reaction. Did it hurt? ::whismur:: [/font]
