Duke couldn't help but laugh a little at the poor whismur. First its mouth had been filled with goo, then drowned with water. It really was pretty comical, and considering the Pokémon intentionally opened its mouth so wide kind of deserved. <Maybe if you didn't open your mouth so wide you wouldn't get embarrassed like that!> Brie teased, muscles tensing as she prepared to dodge the incoming pound attack "Brie Drop with the Hit and use double slap!"The command was unexpected, and as she looked back in confusion, the pound connected. As the attack struck she dropped towards the ground, landing on her stomach. No sooner had she done so then her twin tails began to rapidly spin, lashing out at the whismur, which was now above her. Brie used Double Slap on Whismur!

Brie looked over happily at Duke after her move connected, and the whismur stumbled back surprised and sputtering in anger. Wow, she had such a smart trainer! Jumping up and down, she faced the Whismur equally as confident as the egotistic pokemon in front of her. Growling at the whismur, Brie leapt sideways in a quick attack, white lines racing from it as it appeared to the side of the pokemon, before racing at it, in her own counter attack. ::buizel::

The Growl didn't phase him much, but the Quick Attack certainly did. Sending him flying back to land on his back, he began to pound on the ground, absolutely furious. How dare these little runts stand up to him. They would pay for this if it was the last thing Whismur did!
Beating his stubby little arms on the ground, he stood up, really pissed off now. He opened his mouth in yet another loud scream. He rushed towards Brie, trying to execute yet another Pound attack. He was getting tired now. It was all their fault and they would pay!

Damn, it looks like I won't just win this one... Duke thought to himself, watching this seemingly impervious to damage whismur stomp through his attacks, just firing off a barrage of physical attacks. He wasn't the greatest strategist, but if there was one thing he knew, it was whenever someone was attacking, they were leaving at least some portion of themselves vulnerable to attack.
"Brie counter with sonic boom!"
Nodding Brie made no attempt to evade the attack, eyes narrowing as she spun, her tails lashing out towards the whismur's fist. As the tails swung about a shockwave of energy lashed outwards, heading straight towards the annoying little pokemon.

As the Sonicboom struck against the Whismur's side, stinging him upon contact, he squealed in angst. Those nasty blades of wind, ignoring all of his physical defenses and doing an evil set amount of damage. It was simply too cruel for a Pokemon of his low level. With his pained cries turning into pathetic whimpers, the Whisumur gently laid down on the ground, clutching his injured body until he fainted.
That wasn't going to last long though, for he was a spunky one. If one was going to catch this guy, they had to do it quick, lest he wake up in a flash and bolt. Already, the Whismur's ears and feet were twitching, signaling his regaining consciousness.

Duke smiled proudly as he looked over at Brie, who once again had proven just how powerful she was. With a slight nod of thanks he returned his companion. With that out of the way Duke turned his attention to the whismur, which he noticed was already showing signs of it potentially waking up.
Truth be told he didn't really like the pokemon's attitude, though it had definitely put up a good fight. Who was to say its personality couldn't change too? A little love and care...who knew?
"Well no harm in trying..."
With a light underhand toss, Duke chucked the pokeball at the pokemon. Regardless of whether it worked or not he hoped the little guy would be happy.

NOTES; :) MUSE; n/a TAGS; Duke, Mods POKEMON; Whismur (M)
Given that he had already been trying to regain consciousness, the Whismur really tried to kick up fuss when he felt the two halves of the Pokeball close around his half-conscious form. <Unhand me, you idiots!> he insisted, though his voice couldn't really be heard thanks to the ball he was trapped in. The ball in question rocked violently to signify the intensity of his struggle, and it could hardly be denied that the Whismur was doing his best to escape his confines. He didn't really want this.
But with some things in life, you have no choice. He let out a sigh of exertion and gave up. Apparently, even with his spunk, he was too worn out to have been able to stop the capture. There was a soft ding, a sound which he already resented, and that was that. Whismur was no longer a wild Pokemon.
You obtained a Whismur! ::whismur:: Name: Level: 6 Gender: Male Type: Normal Abilities: Soundproof Attacks: Pound, Uproar Personality: Bold, Arrogant, Spunky [may change]

As the pokeball finally stopped shaking, Duke retrieved the ball. The whismur had put up an annoyingly long fight both in the ball and out, and he had no doubt that this little pokemon would one day prove invaluable on his team. If that's going to happen though I better get on this guys good side... he thought to himself, tossing the ball into the air and watching the whismur emerge from his pokeball. Doing his best to hide his smile, Duke knelt before the whismur, like a knight would before a king. "Emperor, I apologize for having put you through such an ordeal..." he began, his head bowed. "However watching you fight Brie I knew you were destined for greatness! So I caught you in order to make you strong. My pokemon and I will build you an empire!"Staring at the trainer with narrow beady eyes the whismur, who was apparently now named Emperor, tried to decide whether to trust this trainer. Certainly he deserved to rule over this fool and his pathetic pokemon, but if this trainer wanted to serve him so badly why had he started a fight? <I guess I can forgive you this time fools...Now give me a potion!> the whismur said with a snap of one paw, deciding to accept the trainers words for now, but still quite furious. Trying hard to keep a straight face Duke withdrew a potion and applied it to Emperor. With that done the whismur turned and began to walk down the path, with a grinning Duke following along behind the pink menace. Potion used.

Route one is normally a very peaceful route, despite the numerous trainers that gave up on the beaten path to go home, crying to their parents that a journey without a soft bed and warm meal is hard. Nevertheless, the Pokémon there weren't incredibly strong, nor were they incredibly loud, save for the occasional whismurs. However, during autumn, the migratory season, many larger Pokémon pass through La Première Route to reach warmer areas. Which might explain the rumbling of the ground, which made little pebbles jump up and down.
The rumbling became shaking, as if an earthquake was coming. Then, further than the eye can see, a large herd of tauros came to view, ready to destroy anything in their paths. They were approaching Duke at a rapid pace, but if the trainer wanted to run, he would probably be able to find somewhere to take cover.
The herd was headed by some larger tauros, clearing a large path through the woods. Behind them were the smaller ones, the weaker foals that are going through their first migration.
A stampede of Tauros is coming your way! Fight or Flight?

The sudden rumbling in the earth was rather strange. He hadn't noticed anything up until this point, especially during his battle with Emperor, so what was going on? "Emperor I think it's better if you stay in your ball for securities sake." he said returning the whismur, who seemed oblivious to the change in the route. As Duke looked around he noticed the route was really quite. There weren't bird pokemon flying out of the bushes or over heard, and it was rather quiet here. It was almost as though all the pokemon had fled. Slowly Duke turned around to see if he could see anything, his eyes widening as he did so. ::tauros:: ::tauros:: ::tauros:: ::tauros:: ::tauros:: ::tauros:: ::tauros:: ::tauros:: ::tauros:: ::tauros:: "What the--" gulping Duke reached for his pokedex, pointing it at the herd of pokemon surging towards him. Tauros the Wild Bull Pokemon These violent Pokémon fight with other members of their herd in order to prove their strength. It is not satisfied unless it is rampaging at all time. If there is no opponent for Tauros to battle it will charge at thick trees and knock them down to calm itself.
"I gotta get out of here!" he cried, looking around and seeing nothing to hide behind anywhere. Even if he made it to the trees...who was to say they wouldn't just knock it down? "Abby! Use Teleport and get us behind the herd!" Duke called, even as he sent out the psi pokemon. Giggling Abby reached out for Duke, grabbing a hold of him and with a nod of her head teleporting. Unfortunately for Duke though he hadn't been taken along. With the herd of raging tauros practically on top of him, Duke dropped to the ground throwing his hands over his head. Eyes squeezed shut he could feel his skull shaking as the pokemon were right on top of him. Any second now he was going to di--hm? The ground beneath him was suddenly different, throbbing and rippling underneath him. Now that he thought about it his legs were hanging...and the sound of the herd was a lot quieter. Opening his eyes, Duke was alarmed to see he was moving backwards! Sure he couldn't see the herd but he could still hear them. "Abby what did you...oh for goodness sakes!" Looking down Duke realised where he was. He was sitting backwards atop one of the back most tauros. Holding on for dear life, Duke hoped the wild pokemon hadn't noticed the sudden dead weight that had abruptly appeared on its back.

::tauros:: Pkmn encounter ! The young Tauros, only about a year old, was largely affected by the huge weight on his back. However, the rest of the herd was continuing to move; he'd have to make do with whatever circumstances he was in, he supposed. Though the human's body hindered him, the young foal kept charging on.
After just a few moments, however, the little Tauros began to realize that he wouldn't be able to get through this with a huge weight on his back like this. After just a moment of thought the ox focused his power and bucked in an attempt to send Duke into the air and onto another ox or, even better, someplace else.

"Strings I need your help!" As the small caterpillar emerged, Duke did his best to catch the little fella before he fellow of the now bucking Tauros. <W-w-w-what's going -->"I'll explain later just string shot my legs to the tauros!" Duke cried out, already feeling himself beginning to slip off. Luckily for him though, the terrified pokemon was only too willing to comply, though unfortunately for Duke, Strings went a little over the top. "Uh...ok! Not what I had in mind but climb up onto its head and shoot string shot into its eyes!" Took Called out, wrapped up like a mummy in the thick sticky string shot gunk from the neck down. Even though he couldn't see his caterpie, he was confident in the knowledge it would obey his command, at least this time. <Um...sorry!> Squeaked the small green pokemon, wobbling on steadily atop the tauros' head before looking down and shooting a wide spray of string shot at the tauros' face. ::caterpie:: Strings used String Shot on Tauros!

Tauros thrashed as he was enveloped in sticky white goo. Roaring in fury, he tried to break free from the substance, and did to a degree, actually biting some of it off his face and spitting it to the ground, but he couldn't help but notice he was moving slower now. He would not lose to a bug... There was no way HE, a proud, powerful Tauros, was about to lose to a pathetic green worm. He ate those types of worm for BREAKFAST, and he fancied a snack right now. His hooves kicked up clouds of dust as he glared up at the Caterpie and charged again. He had to keep using Rage now. he had no choice. He was confident that he would throw the irritating Pokemon and their Trainer off him, so he could catch up with the herd. ::tauros:: Tauros used Rage. [/CENTER]

Hmm going for the eyes didn't seem quite as effective as he'd thought. Though he couldn't quite see what was going on, the fact that the tauros wasn't stumbling around blindly and falling over made it clear something had done wrong. Still though, it had slowed down...maybe a new tactic was in order. "Strings, get ready to shoot your string shot in front of full power!" he called, not hearing a response but trusting the little bug. Unfortunately, his confidence in his next pokemon wasn't quite as strong. Abby. I need you to grab Strings and teleport in front of the Tauros ok? Point Strings towards its feet.<Why?> Abby asked, appearing now on zac's lap sitting cross legged. "Consider it a game! You use Strings to shoot at its feet! The goal is to slow the tauros down as much as possible!" When no immediate response came from the little abra, Duke couldn't help but sigh, knowing Abby was still hurt by the fact he'd cheated during their game of tag. "If you think the game is too hard for you though I understand..."<Ha! I'll win no problem.> she replied, teleporting off his lap and around the tauros' neck. "Oh and you lose if Strings gets badly hurt!" Zac called back, suddenly remembering how Abby had endangered Strings when they'd met. Disappointed by her trainers words, Abby never the less picked up the little bug pokemon, before teleporting once more, appearing 30 paces ahead of the tauros. <Shoot shoot!> Abby cried, squeezing the little caterpie hard. With a squeal of discomfort, and fear at the massive bull heading straight for him, Strings fired off a thick rope of string, hoping her current captor would be smart enough to teleport away again before the bull reached them! ::caterpie:: Strings used String Shot on Tauros! ::abra:: Used Teleport!
(OOC: I was told abra's teleport could effect other pokemon, as long as it wasn't unreasonable for abra to be able to move it...which is why I didn't just teleport the tauros! Caterpies are so much easier to move. XD)

OOC: I see nothing wrong with your post. XD IC: The bull was sprayed in the eyes and roared, thrashing in the desperate hope that if he moved enough, the string from that stupid Caterpie and its teleporting goon ewould dislodge and fall off. However, rather than dislodge, the string only tightened around his face. Thrashing and roaring, Tauros' Rage attack was almost totally out of control, and he followed the sound of the Teleport to try and take the Caterpie out of action. ::tauros:: Tauros used Rage. [/B]

<Lets....Go. Slow....Mo.Lets....Go. Slow....Mo.Lets....Go. Slow....Mo....Lets-->The slow rhythmic chant echoed through the silent area, audible now that the herd of tauros were steadily getting further and further away. The strange pokemon hadn't been particularly worried as the herd had rushed towards it, after all even rampaging tauros knew better then to step on his molten body. <What rude fellows...> the Slugma had thought to itself, having tried to ask them for directions, only to have had the herd just race past him, clearly in a rush to go absolutely no where important. He had a mission however, and precious cargo at that. A single egg rested on his back, wiggling slightly to and fro. He had been given the mission of taking the egg from where it had been found on Mr Ryuu back to a more suitable environment for it at Cheyenne Falls. He should have been there days ago...right? Shaking his head the little pokemon continued on his way. He had, much to his dismay, arrived at a strange tent full of Pokemon Rangers several days ago. They had been nice of nice to point him in the right direction, even offer to take him straight to his destination, but the Lava pokemon had politely declined, rather freaked out by the man dressed as a batperson, the creepy van driver and his even creepier pokemon. He had been making good time for a slug, but he could feel the egg on his back already stirring a little; he was taking too long. Emerging from a particularly tall patch of grass, the slugma was met with a rather unusual sight. A single tauros, blinded by string, was bucking around, with a large... thing on its back. Whatever was going on, it soon became apparent that an abra, and its evil caterpie ally, were to blame. Not one to ignore bullying, Slugma did the only thing he could do; shoot fire at the tauros, hoping his ember would burn off the strings, without injuring the tauros too, too badly. *~*~*~*~* As the rage attack continued, the strings holding Duke down grew weaker and weaker. They hadn't been meant to hold people in place, and while he did his bet to hold onto them, they were certainly unraveling. With a cry of fear the trainer fell from the bulls back, thankful that for the moment, it's attention seemed to be on Abby and Strings. "Well...this isn't going quite as planned..." Duke murmured, slowly climbing to his feet, turning to regard the battle they found themselves in. Abby continued to use teleport, and it seemed she was slowly circling, trying to turn the blinded tauros completely around so even if it got free of the stringshots that Strings kept firing, it would be headed in the wrong direction. It was a clever plan if it worked, though Duke was sorely tempted to send out brie again, and let her finish this pokemon off now. No, Strings and Abby need the training. Besides, she deserves a rest after battling that whismur. It was at that moment Duke noticed something strange, burning hot embers were being flung towards the tauros. Last he had checked none of his pokemon could use fire moves, and slowly Duke turned to look for the source. A small amount of relief swept through him when he realised it was just a single pokemon, and not some trainer here to steal his new pokemon. He had never seen such a strange fire type before though, and without hesitation withdrew his pokedex. Slugma the Lava Pokemon. A common sight in volcanic areas, it slowly slithers around in a constant search for warm places. With a body made of magma it must constantly keep moving, or its body will cool and harden. Wow...another rare pokemon! Well, for this area of the region at least. What such an odd fire type was doing this far from its home was beyond Duke, though it was obvious this was an opportunity he couldn't pass up. <Excuse me...where is...Cheyene...Falls?> a deep voice at his side asked, each word stretched out unnecessarily long. Looking down, Duke was alarmed to see the weird thing, a slugma wasn't it, was beside him! Worse, it was asking him directions. "I-I-I uh...help...pokemon!" was all Duke managed his stammering voice, only letting out a few words, making it sound like he was asking the fire type for help. In actuality he was of course asking for Abby and Strings to save him, though to the slugma it didn't sound that way. Slowly his eyes widened as he looked at the trainer, noticing the tattered bits of string on his clothing, and realizing the truth. That tauros wasn't the victim, it was a kidnapper! <I will...save you...> the slug exclaimed, inching its way towards the battle, before remembering his precious cargo. <Hold this please...> the slugma said nonchalantly, waiting for the still shell-shocked trainer to retrieve the egg, before inching its way into battle, a large yawn already building inside of it. ::slugma:: Slugma used Ember and Yawn on Tauros!::abra:: Abby used Teleport!::caterpie:: Strings used String shot!Incubated for 1 post(s)(OOC: Whoo~ long post. Absolutely furious that the hot, spicy Embers had singed his precious backside, the Tauros let out a mighty groan from the attack. It was hot! It hit him good! It was…burning him holy shit. He started to run around in a fury, feeling his health get sapped away from him with each moment he made any violent movements. Of course, being in a furious, killing rage, he couldn’t help but be mad and furious. Madness! His hooves stomped on the ground, kicking up the dirt on the ground to try and cover the wound, but it did little to soothe its health sucking nature. Some of the String Shot that covered his legs stopped him from moving as excitedly as before, but he was still able to move!
The Yawn attack didn’t affect him in the slightest; not when he was this mad and in this kind of pain. He boldly charged ahead with a slow, and attack lowered Rage attack. Actually, one could say that his attack power was cut in half. Only the Embers from the Slugma would slowly bring it up to what it used to be.
Once his towering bulky figure was above the fire slug, he grinned maliciously as he thought of the best way to castigate his opponent. Deciding on some furious stomps, though weaker and less efficient than the official move, he chose to do whatever rueful actions he could as long as this ugly thing was knocked out.
Hit by Ember and Sting Shot Burned. Uses Rage.

Duke couldn't help but stare as the slugma inched its way forward and began shooting bits of fire at the tauros. In most circumstances that probably would have been a great help; though considering the fire attacks were undoing all his pokemon's hard work so far, this certainly wasn't going as planned. For a split second he considered adding Emperor to the fray, though the chances of the pokemon's uproar hurting everyone else was just too great. So Duke continued to watch with fists clenched as the slugma, now being attacked head on by the tauros, staggered back with a cry of pain. He wanted to protect this Pokémon that had gone out of its way to help them, but what could he do? Abby couldn't touch it without getting hurt, and if he sent out Brie there was a good chance it would get hit by the water pokemon's moves as well. "Abby, teleport above the Tauros then throw Strings at it!" he called out, clutching the egg tightly in both arms as he watched the two Pokémon vanish and reappear above the tauros, and begin their attack. "Now Strings, spin as you fall and use string shot!"The small bug type dutifully obeyed, its eyes tightly clenched shut as it plummeted downwards. As the string shot bursting from its mouth Duke smiled in satisfaction, the string was being spun out, like a wide net. Sure it wasn't woven together and probably wouldn't pin such a huge Pokémon down, but at least this way he could cover the entire thing at once, rather then just one small portion at a time. "Hey Slugma! Get back over here please!" the trainer added after a moments thought, not wanting the fire type to get caught in his current attack, or worse destroy it. Wincing in pain the slugma opened its mouth, a thick grey smokey substance blasting towards the furious tauros' face. Slugma wasn't particularly fond of using its Smog attack, but he had to get away without endangering the egg! Without checking whether its attack did any damage, the slugma raced back towards the trainer and the egg, still completely oblivious to the string firing caterpie about to collide with the tauros, or the wide spray of sticky string already beginning to hit the ground. Not only was he being smugged, but his speed was further lowered, and the worm hit him on the head. And surprisingly, it really hurt! Tauros sniffed, feeling his sliver of irritation blossom into full-blown fury. He felt an odd amity with his Rage. It kept him alive, after all. The Caterpie was still on his head, wasn't it? Bucking and thrashing, Tauros tried to gore the terrified worm, or at least throw it to the ground and knock it out of the battle. This was a pain in the ass. Why did he have to be proscribed to this. Tauros used Rage on Strings. [/B]
