Art.
The scarred trainer had return to his prior position within his travels. It has been three years since his disappearance. The airs were swiftly cut by the steel wings of his Skarmony. The cackle in the voice was the bird's wish of good luck and fortune. The forest was a pain to travel, having no clue of direction. He had to cut his way through the majority of his forest. However, at the present none of his team had refined their claws well enough to do so.
With a pause he began to travel the clearing and path in which he could. There had to be some sort of lead somewhere. The skies were open and the light was warming, he wanted to finish this route by night. Who knows what might come out at the dark.

From the undergrowth of the tangled forest was a something moving, something that was much more vibrant green in color, causing it to stand out slightly in the darker atmosphere. A Caterpie was currently trying to wiggle under a few of the vines.
As you draw closer to the bug, the female pokemon's voice can be heard talking to herself in worried tones. <Oh were did I dig that whole into the forest? How am I to get home if I can't get in? Oh dear oh dear.?
The poor Caterpie must have the same mindset. Don't be away from home at night in the forest. ::Caterpie:: Caterpie|Female

Nick noticed the bug, who seemed worried as well. He could sense its emotion, but to further enhance their communication he withdrew a PokeBall. By pressing the button, he would release his Bagon. Blade blinked his eye and took in a great wisp of the air. The small dragon noticed the bunched vines and blocking trees. The beast, first would turn towards his trainer - Nick Serri.
The man pointed towards the Caterpie, and the lime coded creature would approach. Blade approached in was open to offer help. He wanted to see and understand what the little fellow needed.

- The darkness hindered the Caterpie's eyesight, even though she could somewhat sense her way around the area. With a nervous whimper, she cringed at the sight of the Pokeball's light, eyes completely focused on the figure within. It was a strange Pokemon, one that she had never seen before, nor could even identify. Her mind told her it was friendly though, especially after hearing it speak.
- <Oh, its just so dark. Usually I don't go this far for food, but with the weather getting colder, I got a bit lost.> The Caterpie sighed, knowing where to go if it was in the daytime, however,, everything was different at night. Like it was a whole new world. <If I could only find the river, then I would know how to get home.> She explained, a sorrowful look in her eyes.
- She would have hated to become prey to the wild Pokemon in the area. Already she could hear some rustling going on in the bushes, before they faded away. Perhaps what was there had went away, or maybe they were being watched. Whatever it was, she knew its intentions weren't congruous with hers if it wanted an easy meal.

Nick sighed as he saw Blade nod. Obviously the little fellow was focused on helping the Caterpie, instead of Nick. Guess cutting through these vines and all is not important to him. The tall trainer pressed forward as Blade continued his briefing from the fearful bug. Eventually the story would be spelled out and the, now trio, would be on the move.
Where the hell was a river out here though? Unfortunately Nick's damn Skarmony was on his way back towards the mountains. He had no flying-types on his team. So they would have to foot this whole damn trip. Unless there was a PC nearby, they would be walking.
But, needless to say this trainer thought otherwise. Instead of relying on his feet he would stay alert and signal Blade to do so as well. There had to be a Pokémon in this forest, capable of flight - then again -
"Hey Caterpie. Do you just want to join my team, so I can train you to fly. You will be stronger and able to fend for yourself."
The trainer simply threw the idea out there, maybe that would be better for the little girl.

Caterpie blinked. Was this raillery of some kind? She had to admit that she liked the Trainer's style of just coming right out and asking her to accompany him, but it wasn't really the norm, was it? >U-um...< she stammered, lookinh up at the Trainer who, intentionally or not, had grown so tall it intimidated her. She turned back to the blocked off path to her home, and looked up at the Trainer. >I... uh... I don't know what to say,< she admitted, blushing as bugs blush. ::caterpie::

disclaimer - in the forest so we are unaffected by the power outage, except for my PokeBalls.
The trainer withdrew a single PokeBall and laid it upon the forest grounds. As he maximized the orb he saw a little spark escape. That was funny, it never happened before. His plans would change after seeing the odd malfunction. He returned the orb and look at the Caterpie tenderly. He simply turned with his hands in his pocket and marched forward through the forest. "It would be easier if we can find some Pokemon in this forest to get some help from." He stated as he moved forward.
Blade stopped and turned towards the Caterpie. The serious natured Dragon waved his little arm once. He was signaling for the little bug to follow along as the team moved forward. He was loyal to Nick and would follow behind. As of now they were trying to find a lake, but the best thing to do would be get answers from members of this very own forest. Surely that would not be easy, these wild Pokemon are probably itching for a battle.

The Caterpie made an attempt to get near the ball, but the strange electricity that emitted from it frightened her away. Looking up at the trainer with a confused look, wondering what sort of danger this was, she seemed to be equally confused. It was quite possible that this was far from normal.
This was made even more true when a sudden shockwave ripped through the entire area, and birds started flying fearfully into the air. It was as if some great change was going through the region, like something big was happening somewhere far away. The Caterpie looked around, halting right behind the Bagon to look around her nervously. <I didn't like that.> She commented, slinking beside the Bagon with the feeling that he would protect her through the darkness.
<Whut in tarnation is goin' down 'ere?!> A high pitched squeal emerged from the forest, completely freaked out from what happened moments ago. The Nidoran's eyes locked on with the Shiny Bagon, and instantly sensed a great power from him. Call it 'redneck's intuition', if you will.
<Arceus will curse ya' fer disturbin' mah terrrrrr-i-torii.> He made a yodeling like sound for each of his 'I's', grunting towards the Bagon with his horn lowered. Legs kicking up the dirt behind him, he appeared ready to take on the dragon type.

Blade looked back towards his trainer, his eyes locked on Nick's scar for awhile. He recalled that scar, his eyes watched as he could do nothing to help. The scar was a symbol of Nick's bond and loyalty to his team; as he took the blow from the Salamence. The sheer thought fired the little dragon up as he watched Nick. The trainer would not and would extend his hand forward and down.
The Bagon knew what this meant and would lower his head as well. Nick slowly walked forward and as the Bagon left the Caterpie's side, he would be there to replace the dragon. He noticed the little girl was watching Blade, and she looked to him as a protector. The serious-natured beast would continue to charge despite knowing the Nidoran had a piercing horn. Blade simply trusted his head was harder.

-- Hit by Headbutt -- Uses Fury Attack
Once the Nidoran saw the Bagon get into position, the Nidoran charged ahead with an equal amount of vigor. The Poison type's Fury Attack was not simply just a run and charge ahead kind of move, not as strong as a Headbutt. However, it was one that was more agile, giving him more mobility as he charged forward.
The Headbutt managed to knock him in the hip as he narrowly moved out of the direct line of attack, and with his horn ready he started making rapid fire attacks at the moving Bagon. It hurt, yes, and that dense head of his was something to take note of in the future.
<I-I see you have really strong Pokemon.> The Caterpie commented, a bit surprised how the Bagon's strength. The Headbutt didn't even hit full on, but just by looking at the Nidoran's face, she could tell that he was hurting.

Nick simply nodded at the remarks of the Caterpie. Although not his native language, after three years of bonding in the mountains, he too grabbed the gist of what the creatures were saying. His eyes never reverted from the match as his Bagon was now being successfully darted by the Nidoran.
The trainer would raise his hand once more and spread his fingers distinctively apart. His hand remained in this form as he mumbled the letter "S". The green arm of Blade began to flow a dark purple as he squinted his eyes. He held his ground as he took the stabs taking the damage straight on. Soon his shrubby arms were coated by an elongated claw.
The close-ranged dragon would look to hit the horned beast with the ghostly claw from the side hopefully damaging and separating the two.

The Caterpie looked up at the Bagon. <What power!> She thought as she watched in amazement. What power and strentgh! Maybe one day she could fight like that! Just thinking about that Carterpie got lost in her own little world...
The Nidoran was thrown into a tree. Gosh darn it, this was hard! Though he wasn't giving up just yet! Shaking his head he went for a Peck again. Using his little horn, he tried to peck at the Bagon.
::nidoranm::

The little dragon staggered from the repeated blows by the Nidoran's horns. But now he was fired up. You could see the smirk on Nick's face as he knew what was to come. He glanced down at the little Caterpie who had something visual going along in her head, but it look like it was almost time to wrap this up.
Blade's eyes followed the Nidoran. His mouth was bloated as the little fellow charged. His eyes shut opened wide as he released a beam of fire straight for the poisonous Pokemon. The beaming line of flames were strong and would definitely bring some heat to this battle!

The Nidoran visibly gulped as the flames torched his leathery body, and he coughed out smoke, trying to ignore the agony the flames caused to his sensitive flesh. Eyes closed and watering, he tried to work past the pain. As he opened them again, hackles raised while grass and moss burned around him, he stared cautiously at the other Pokemon while Caterpie cowered, before charging again, horn pointed straight at his opponent. ::nidoranm:: Nidoran used Peck. This Nidoran was stubborn - it was unbelievable. How could one Pokemon have this much heart. It was beautiful and precious, unfortunately Blade was going to break him down. He successfully stabbed the Bagon a couple of times; he was not going to let it happen once more without a win.
Blade watched the charging Nidoran, and would collide with the beast. The horn pushed into his skin as he let out a strong cry. He could feel his body weakening, as the horn injected something foul. The poison was in effect. Regardless, Blade was ready to finish strong as he had, once again, the little fellow so close.
Nick's hand rose and in a clamping motion came down swiftly. The jaw of Blade opened wide and would Bite into the skin of the poisonous Pokemon. His jaw was strong and he would try to hold this bite until the beast's submission.

Squealing in fright from the sight of flames turning into embers near her, the Caterpie hid behind Nick's legs for protection, clearly not liking this 'fire making' ability of the Bagon. She almost looked at him with fear, before recalling that he was the one that offered to help her. She frowned, finding herself in an inner debate.
Against such powerful, high class attacks, the Nidoran didn't stand much of a chance. He might've been strong level wise, but against these kinds of moves, he simply couldn't compare. The Pokemon owned by trainers were fightin' machines. <Yous crazy!> He hollered, realizing that the Bagon wasn't backing down after his last injection of Poison.
Even with the look of clear pain on the Bagon's face, he sunk his powerful jaws onto the back of the Nidoran's neck, making him gasp weakly. His legs squirmed for a moment before turning limp, eyes staring ahead wild with fright as he waited anxiously to be released. Of course, when put down, it was apparent that he had fainted.

Back to their search. He had no use for the Nidoran on his team, it was just an obstacle in his way. However, it was definitely noticeable that Blade had grew a lot stronger over the years. He was looking better and quite ready to evolve. By foot the group would travel as they sought a lake. Were there more Pokémon lurking, there had to be someone out there who could help them.
Blade and Nick were thinking of possible clues. The shiny Bagon halted and turned to the Caterpie. <So is there any Pokémon you know who can help us find this lake? Or your way back?> Blade was interested in getting this search over. He wanted to help the girl, so he could feel productive for today. Nick slapped his forehead. He desperately wished for a computer so he could withdraw or find some Pokémon to help.
All he could do was - sigh.

Still slightly nervous from the fire she'd noticed the Bagon spit at the Nidoran, the Caterpie gave a nervous start, but relaxed after a moment and thought about it. She didn't really talk to many of the other Pokemon on the routes, as she was a tad bit shy. Though she was a kind-hearted bug, her lack of outgoing attitude meant she lacked in the social department. But sometimes she did listen to the chattering of other Pokemon, such as two friendly Furret that had made their home near hers, and so after a moment, she gave a tentative nod.
<Well,> the small caterpillar started, <there is a particular Wooper that I think might know the way.> The Pokemon in question was a bit of a jerk at times - a travelling merchant of sorts. At least, that was what she claimed to be... but when you actually requested any of the items she had on hand, the Wooper would simply send you on your way.
However, due to her frequent travels, the Caterpie assumed that the snobbish Pokemon must know the way to the river, if not to her home. But hadn't the trainer offered to allow her to join his team? Maybe she would find a new home... but first they'd have to find the way for Nick. Wanting to be helpful was in her nature, and she wouldn't bring up her own concerns until she'd made sure they found what they were looking for. <She usually comes by that tree right there often...> A lot of trainers and their Pokemon didn't get past the thick branches and vines, so it was a good place to brag about her unsellable wares.

Nick and Blade looked at one another as they now figured this was not ending soon. Nick simply shooed the Dragon along, since he was devoted to helping the little bug, which was nice. Blade wanted to crack a smile, but such was out of character for him. He usually nodded, when he was pleased or happy - and so he did. He sped up alongside the Caterpie as he followed towards the indicated tree.
The ivory-haired trainer followed along as he looked through the thicket. Unfortunately he was yet to get a hold of the mysterious HM which could get them through the remainder of this forest. "Hey, by any chance do you know how we could get through these vines and all?" He asked the Caterpie. Although they were on a sidequest now, his main objective was to complete this route. To do so, he would eventually have to cut through these thick vines and bushes.

<Oh, I'm not so sure. I've always been so small, I could fit through them.> She commented on the way over to the tree, casually weaving through the mix of vines and shrubbery. There, she would've went a bit farther if she hadn't stopped at the sound of a low, threatening growl. She paused to turn back to face Nick nervously, as if wondering if she should still go forward, but a familiar voice instantly changed her mind.
<I'm telling you! The goods didn't arrive yet! I'm SORRY for your inconvenience.> A snobby, feminine voice rang out over the growls. The Wooper took a frightened step away from the Poochyena, but he didn't seem too willing to listen. He had only requested three Sitrus Berries, but they had been a little out of season. The poor guy. Well, actually, poor HER.
<You lied, stupid. Time for my refund!> The Poochyena savagely barked, charging forward with a Bite attack on the Wooper. Right through the foliage, the group was able to see the scene. It was up to Nick if he chose to help.
