Tess huffed and glared at her opponent. What was he teasing her for? She was doing pretty good in the battle! Well, her Pokemon was, and he hadn't gone against her wishes so far. . . She hoped the Nincada didn't get him too mad, though.
"Dodge it and use Bite!" Tess commanded, putting more authority into her voice than she had last time. She wouldn't let this impudent boy think he was a better trainer than her! She would show him that Charred was a perfectly good Pokemon!
Charred hissed through his teeth. Bite? What kind of a stupid attack decision was that? Ember was much more effective against the Pokemon! But wait. . . With it coming at him for a Scratch attack it had to get close. . . Within teeth range. . . Hmm. Perhaps his trainer wasn't a complete idiot.
He did as he was told this time. But if his trainer made one wrong mistake, he would take this battle into his own claws. He shifted his feet so that he was turned sideways. The Nincada's attack flashed before him and he struck out with snake-like swiftness, his mouth wide open and ready for a Bite. He barely even noticed the Scratches that appeared on his chest.

The Nincada was caught within the Charaptor’s grasp after delivering the blows to his armored chest, almost injuring his own claws in the process. He squealed after finding himself trapped between two rows of teeth, squirming was futile, but it was all he could do to prove that he was putting up some kind of fight. To be honest, he was getting scared.
”Hang on, I got a plan! Harden.” The child-like ninja exclaimed, appearing proud as he said it. Nincada appeared surprised at such a stupid plan, but obeyed anyway, his skin getting awfully tight and hard against Charred’s teeth. In fact, it was almost like biting a rock from having its defense raised so much.
”Now get it with Leech Life.”He ordered, annoyed because he realized that Nincada was waiting for him to give an order. To be honest, it was the first one off of the top of his head. Besides, gaining some health wasn’t that bad. Nincada didn’t really care, as long as his trainer was pleased. Raising a stiff claw in the air, he swiped at Charred’s maw to swipe some of his health away.

Charred snarled as the Nincada Hardered under his fangs. He tossed his head and threw the little bug to the side, flexing his jaw and shaking his head. Gah! What an impudent little critter! He growled and whipped around to face the bug.
"Watch out!" Tess called. The little Nincada was coming in for a Leech Life attack! If it hit, then her Charaptor would lose life and give it to his foe! "Use Ember!"
The raptor-like Pokemon hissed as the Nincada came at him for the attack. He opened his mouth for an Ember attack, but it didn't get it off in time. He was struck by the little creature and felt his health sap away. With a mighty roar, he let loose with an Ember attack.

”Okay Nincada, its time to prove yourself. This is a test of endurance and skill, are you ready?” The child cried with pumped fists, his headband nearly falling off of his scrawny head as he jumped around. He paused until he noticed a determined nod from the Nincada, and proceeded to usher out a command.
”I want you to shove those Ember’s away with your Scratch attack. Don’t worry, if you’re fast enough, you won’t even feel a burn!” He was kind enough to bring some assurance to his plan, and was absolutely thrilled that his Pokemon was actually going to try the plan out. To be honest, this was their first time against a fire type, and had little skill or practice against it. So this was all in theory. Actually, the whole reason he had this idea was from an experience he had when he was little, playing with candles in his grandmother’s living room. If he moved his hand fast enough over the fire, he wouldn’t feel a thing. But if he held it there, he would get so burned, that he would cry. ’Just be fast, Nincada.’ He thought with a convinced expression, believing in his Pokemon.
Sure enough, at the very first strike the Ember was sent flying into the ground, letting a tiny sizzle as it cooled down. The Nincada went on like this for some time, lashing away at the Ember’s until he felt confident to spring up into the air, dodging the rest of the flurry with a snicker. It looked as though he was completely undamaged, but upon closer inspection, you could see his claws were charred a deep black. And they hurt pretty darn bad as well, apparently it did work, but there was just so many ember’s headed his way, that he ended up getting burned. Well. Either way, he was planning on using a Scratch attack on Charred, while he still had the chance.

Charred let out a furious snort as his Ember attack was so quickly and effectively dealt with. He hissed through his teeth and lowered his head more, starting to see red. No, it wasn't quiet his ability Anger Point, as he would need to be hit by a critical attack first, but he wasn't feeling chipper.
Tess instantly recoiled at the murderous look in her Pokemon's eyes. "Charred! You gotta calm down! It's an insignificant little bug!" she called, not sounding the least bit believable.
The Charaptor was not feeling like listening. He stood up on his hind legs and let out a ferocious roar before running to meet the Nincada head-on. He pumped his powerful leg muscles and charged the little bug. However, he made no move to dodge or counter the Scratch attack. He just took it.
{Dodge this!} he screeched through the smarting gouges that Nincada had Scratched down his left flank. He turned his head immediately and let loose with another Ember attack while the little boy's Pokemon was so close.

The Nincada was obviously tired by now. With all the dodging and attacking it had done. When the next ember came it's way it couldn't react in time and the ember engulfed the bug. It struggled to stay up but it fell over just the same. When the flames died away from the scene one could see the fainted bug sprawled out on the ground. The boy ran towards his companion with a worried look. "Come on boy, you can still fight. I know you can!" When the pokemon didn't move he returned it and stood up. "Good fight...." The boy didn't look back to Tess as he walked away from her in the direction that she had first came from. Maybe he could find a different target for when his pokemon felt better... Charred gains a level! Will you turn left or right?

Tess giggled and waved to the trainer as he walked off, not noticing how dejected the boy looked. "Oh! Thank you for the fight! It was really great! Thanks!" she called after him. "Sorry about your Nincada!"
She turned when the boy had gone from sight and started to congradulate her Charaptor, but Charred was scraping the ground with his back claws and still looked majorly pissed off.
"Charred. . . What's--?" she started. She was cut off when her raptor-like Pokemon gave a mighty roar and started to charge her. Defeating the Nincada had not been enough to sate his anger, and currently all who was there was Tess. . .
And Sizzle! She was the one he was really charging. He wouldn't actually attack his trainer, but the Shinx was another Pokemon.
Tess, however, did not want any of this. She just took out his Pokeball and quickly returned him. "Geez! Know when to calm down. . . ," she muttered, looking down at Sizzle. She was not looking at all excited about that attack.
"Well, let's go!" Tess said happily, strolling down the right road as if nothing had ever happened. Sizzle gave her trainer a strange look, but trotted after her.

The weather was beginning to take a turn for the worse, and Pokemon were anxiously gathering the last of Autumn’s berries in order to survive the long winter. A couple of Oddish had scampered into view, only to disappear moments later with their leaves entangled with berries gathered from the harvest. There was even a tall Buizel, feeling a little left out of the fall craze with only a tiny Oran berry in her two paws. She looked at it a bit sadly, as if decided what she was going to do with it. She noticed the trainer and her Shinx coming up the path, and instantly dashed behind a nearby tree. Only poking her head out, easily seen by any human’s eyes, to see what they were going to do. By nature, she was shy around humans. She didn’t dislike them, or hold any grudge against them. She just wasn’t sure what to believe. [/center]

Tess stopped for a second, seeing the Buizel. She wasn't really fond of Water Types, as they were good against her beloved Fire Types, but this would be good practice for Sizzle! This was why Tess had gotten an Electric Type in the first place!
She looked down at the Shinx and smiled. "Think you're ready to train?" she asked in an undertone. Sizzle looked up at her then shrugged. Whatever got her out of walking around and being bored.
Smiling, Tess walked slowly toward the Buizel. "Hey there! How're you?" she asked sweetly, not wanting to scare the little Pokemon off before she could challenge her. "Are you feeling up to a battle with my Sizzle?"

Buizel smiled and stepped up to the trainer. [Sure, I'd love to!] Quickly, Buizel used a low growl and then a sonicboom attack to inflict some damage first to the Shinx if she could. Buizel smiled, knowing how to play this battle carefully with her oran berry.

Tess smiled. Great! It was about time she got her Shinx into some training. "Dodge and use Tackle attack!" she commanded with a bright grin.
Sizzle was effected by the Growl attack even if she didn't show it. Her attack lowered, but she managed to dodge-roll out of the way of the Sonicboom attack. She rolled to her paws and charged the Buizel, lowering her head as she prepared to ram the Pokemon with Tackle.

Buizel skidded back a few feet, rolling backwards at the end before standing back up for her next attack. [Okay, my turn.] Buizel smiled and decided on another Sonic Boom attack as she blasted a loud attack at the Shinx.

This time Sizzle didn't have the luxury of dodging. She was hit by the Sonic Boom attack and she rolled a few feet from the Buizel before getting back to her paws less gracefully than her opponent had. "That's alright, Sizzle! Use Leer then Tackle that thing!" Tess cried out. It was just one hit, right? It wouldn't matter much until her little Shinx started to get hit more. That was what Leer was for, though. That way her Pokémon wouldn't have to worry about hard hits. Sizzle faced the otter-type Pokémon and her eyes began to glow an imposing yellow color. Hopefully this would scare her foe into lowering her attack. Who knows, maybe her Intimidate ability would further cut Buizel's attack. Wouldn't that be helpful? Before her attack cut out, Sizzle charged at her foe, her head lowered and her muscles tensed for what she hoped would be impact. She wish she knew some sort of defense-lowering attack, but she would just have to work with what she had.

Buizel flew back some from the tackle as the leer took effect. Shaking off the attack, Buizel quickly used a growl attack towards the Shinx, hoping to lower the attack some. Buizel was just excited about battling mostly so, she didn't mind not using two attacks every time it was her turn.
Buizel used Growl!

Unfortunately for Sizzle, the Growl attack effected her. Her attack fell and that cancelled out the effect of her Leer move. She narrowed her eyes and growled quietly at the Buizel. This would have been an easy fight if she knew an Electric attack.
"You're doing fine, Sizzle! Use Tackle on that thing now!" Tess commanded with a bright smile. They had that Buizel on the ropes! Just a few more hits. . .
Sizzle let out a tiny little roar and then charged the otter-like Pokemon, her head lowered. Her paws pounded the ground as she closed the distance between her and her opponent. When she was close enough, she took a flying leap to ram the Buizel.

The buizel had anticipated the attack, and ducked to avoid it. Then, whirling around to face the opponent, she began to dart at her for a Quick Attack. The wind began to pick up from the otter's speed.

The little Shinx was hit by the Quick Attack and she tumbled along the ground, stopping only when a tree got in her way. She groaned to herself, then got back onto her paws, giving her fur a shake.
"Um, use Leer then use Tackle again!" Tess cried. How much easier this would be if her Pokemon had an electric attack. Oh well, that would all come in time.
Sizzle glared at the Buizel, her eyes turning an eerie yellow color as she tried to intimidate its foe into lowering its defense and thus making her attacks stronger. She let out a cry, then charged the Water Type for a Tackle attack.

Seeing that the Shinx was trying to tackle him the speedy orange pokemon fled, running around the trainer, trees and the pokemon itself all in desperation not to be hit. The Buizel, while it may be michevious knew that it's health was getting low and he could only take a few more hits.
However he was for a moment still, pausing in his frantic fleeing from the Shinx to gaze at something that had shimmered on the ground. Within moments the shimmer was far from his thoughts as he was finally pounded by the Shinx.
Flying forward, he glared at the pokemon only to be struck by a defense lowering leer. Why did this happen to him? Liking the speed he had gained from the Quick Attack he quickly used it, flying towards the electric type at an alarming rate of speed a sly smile on his face.

Shinx wasn't going to fall for the Quick Attack twice in a row. However, she decided that getting hit wouldn't be too bad if she could trip the Buizel and leave him open to another attack. . .
So, instead of dodging out of the way, Sizzle flattened herself to the ground and attempted to get the Buizel to trip over her. She was still going to be hurt by the attack, but if this worked, she could maybe get in a Tackle attack before she fainted. . .
"Great idea. . . ," Tess muttered to herself, seeing what her little electric Pokemon was doing. She smiled and leanded forward slightly, eager to see what was going to happen.
Sizzle tensed her muscles, ready to get up and spring on the Buizel with a Tackle attack even if she didn't end up tripping the Buizel.

The Buizel was hit hard with the tackle attack, tripping over himself and rolling backwards into a tree, the pile of leaves flew up into the air as he hit.
The Buizel was now fainted, and laid there conscience
You defeated Buizel! Shinx gains one level! You may capture or move on
