Scuttle was smaller, and weaker than Lugh; but the Weedle had been Warren's Pokemon for longer than the Yanma or any of the other assembled pokemon. And as such; despite being lower level, being smaller, being less capable in battling and in most things, Scuttlebutt took command- and Lugh simply thought that was the way things were supposed to be. As the Clear Wing Pokemon hovered in the air, the Hairy Bug Pokemon hopped from his friend, swinging away from him with a String Shot. With a 'padup', the tan, pink, white and back worm like pokemon swung towards the Caterpie.
“Howdy, Miss Caterpie!” the Weedle chirped in towards the Caterpie, giving her a sort've bow, and then a nod. “My master sent me to invite you to come eat some dinner with us; it's really tasty pokemon chow, and it's warm! I think he put Touga Berries in it, even!” Scuttlebutt was absolutely hopping with joy. Then he noticed the Oran Berry, and string shot at it. “You know it's a lot easier to carry that way right?” He hopped up to stand on his back for pods, and then Warren's newest addition, Lugh, called down. “Hey, Cap'n; you done gettin' the Pokemon we got sent to get yet? I can smell the chow from here, and we should get back!”
“Just wait a second, Lugh!” Weedle chirped back.

<Whoa- where did you come from?!> The Caterpie yelped, not realizing that the Weedle was about to approach her. She hated not expecting things like that, but realized that if they were searching for something, it was only natural to ask for directions. She had to admit though, that this was one interesting character. As she held the Oran Berry in her tiny hands, he suddenly snatched it with a String Shot, to her surprise.
<W-What? You took it?> She gaped, thinking that this was a robbery. Instead though, according to the Yanma up above, she was being invited to...dinner? Whaaaat? That was odd, but maybe it was some kind of bug Pokemon club? She liked the idea of that, actually.
<I'll come along. It's been ages since I've had good company.> She chuckled, wondering if it really was ok to relax right now when she had to focus on Winter's arrival. It wouldn't be too long now, nope.

Scuttlebutt gave the closest thing a Weedle could to a grin [scrunched up it's nose-ball thing maybe?], and then gave a nod, handing the Oran Berry back to the Caterpie, and then shooting a String shot up the one foot or so to his awaiting Yanma friend. In all the style of Weedle, Scuttlebutt Weedle; the Hairy Bug offered the Green and Yellow and Red Worm pokemon his pod, giving a nod and as Yanma tugged the String to make sure it was firm, the trio would begin to take off [if of course Caterpie grabbed on, otherwise it'd just be Scuttlebutt looking like a Hairy Bug Pokemon-Ninja-Secret Agent-Awesome.]
"Weeeeeeddlllle, Weedle, Weedle."
The trip would've been short; and Warren was already listening in the direction his Pokemon had went- he could still hear them out there behind him, and as Magnemite Sucked on it's Battery, and Phanpy ate her bowl of Pokechow, he was only waiting patiently. This would be unorthodox, for sure- and he didn't really need another bug Pokemon on his team; but it'd help just as well if offering her help and food won her loyalty.
To the left of him, a wooden log set up for all the Pokemon and Warren to sit on; and towards the Edge of the Camp Site, an obnoxious burnt orange tent big enough to fit Warren and most of his Pokemon [though he had no intent of fitting them all in there, watch shifts would have to be done, without a doubt]. The Chilli bubbled up, and the warmed Pokefood simmered in an adjacent pot, both sitting on the grilling grates.

At first the Caterpie didn't know what to expect when the Weedle aimed a String Shot at the Yanma, but when she did catch on, she fearfully clung to his somewhat hairy body. She squealed as they flew through the air, feeling that she wasn't quite ready for the flying experience as her new companions were. She fearfully looked down at the ground, seeing them look so tiny and small, as if they were all dolls.
She sure hoped they would've made it to their destination soon, because she was starting to get super hungry, despite the constant fear that surrounded her. <Your Yanma friend sure is strong, carrying us like this.> She looked at the Weedle, more impressed that he had such cool friends than the Yanma itself. Pfft. Typical chick.
Seeing that the trip was meant to be short, and nothing had occurred on the way except for a particularly strong gust of wind, the group arrived there safely. She looked down at the tent with a growling stomach, making her even more eager to join the group, despite the obvious lack of fellow bugs, and the human in the center.

Of course the fact that it was Scuttlebutt's mouth and pods which kept them on the line didn't occur to the Caterpie, that much was rich to the young Weedle. But he didn't say a thing contrary to what she had said, his vocal cords making some sort've Weedle/Pokemon equivalent of 'Mhm'; and then holding onto the line and the Caterpie for the rest of the way, hopping down from the Yanma only when they got back to Camp and the Dragon-Fly like Pokemon was hovering over the log-bench.
Warren nodded to his returned Pokemon, and to the Caterpie, walking towards them with the warmed and rehydrated Pokechow waiting for the three of them in his hands, moving like a ninja-waiter, and plopping the bowls down on the bench, before going back and taking the pan of reheated Chilli off the fire, and the remainder of the Pokechow, too, taking the Chilli and sitting it down on the Bench beside him as he began to dig in to it with his spoon. After a bite of the warming food, he grinned.
“Welcome to our camp, Caterpie! Eat up, everyone!”

Hmm. Chilli. Although it would have been nice for a meat eater, Caterpie was strictly a herbivore. It wasn't that meat was murder or anything like that. It was just that her body couldn't digest meat. The Oran Berry was a lot more appetizing to one such as Caterpie, and she looked at Scuttlebutt as she crushed the berry, pouring the juice that leaked from the ruptured husk into the bowls of Pokefood. before it was wasted, before tucking into the bowl with gusto. >Mmmm,< squeaked Caterpie. This tame Pokemon food was quite delicious. She could get used to this. ::caterpie::

The Party of Pokemon and their Orange loving trainer were huddled around the embers of the fire; Scuttlebutt the Weedle enjoying his chow and the company, Warren watching silently and watchfully over his recently [population balloned] herd of Pokemon. The steely eyed trainer watched Magnemite float inches from Phanpy, giving the female pokemon slight static shocks occasionally as she tried to eat her chow; and making her look at him in annoyance. Lugh the Yanma was simply eating his food, looking at Weedle and Caterpie and the entire group with silence; enjoying the chow and happy to be with a trainer that valued him. He didn't really remember who had valued him. He didn't really remember much; honestly. But the camp stood about happily, Zubat still unconscious from the battle he had had with Weedle, Magnemite, and Phanpy; and the rest of them enjoying themselves. --- Warren's thoughts were on numerous things. On how to feed his Pokemon in the coming weeks if the electricity caused more than the trainer targeting stores to close; his thoughts were on if he should try to capture this Caterpie and add her to his collection of Pokemon; they were on how he would bring his Pokemon [especially Scuttlebutt] into more strength. They were on a number of things, and the sheer mass of the horde of thoughts in the dark haired young man's mind made his Chilli seem all the more comforting; with each bite he could forget that he had all these thoughts- at least for a moment. --- Scuttlebutt; however. He was without a real thought other than it was nice to have a girl pokemon around that was also a bug. Phanpy could crush him any minute, and this caterpie was sort've cute! He happily gnawed on his food, chirping off-handedly. "So, what was your plan before coming to eat with us?"

Caterpie was thrilled to be eating a meal with friends. For the first minute or so, she still found herself looking around slightly awkwardly, expecting to be attacked by those who had invited her to join them. The group’s honest intentions, however, sunk in with gusto as they began to eat. This was just a kind invitation, nothing more.
Similarly to her Weedle companion, she was pleased to have such fine company. The route was so dangerous, and other bug-types were often so timid and shy. All the aggressive ones ended up dying pretty darn quickly, apparently fated for death should they emulate a stronger Pokemon. It was a pity, really. Scuttlebutt, however, had strong friends to back him up, and was therefore safe. And he was cute.
<Oh, I was just gathering more food for winter.> She glanced guiltily at the crushed up berry in her bowl, realizing that would cost her precious nutrients in the cold months ahead. <I suppose I’ll need to find more before going home tonight, since I just used up this berry,> she said, sighing sadly. Her words were a plea, and possibly an obvious one, for assistance that the Weedle could not possibly miss. She poked at the remaining food listlessly, looking at the Weedle with wide eyes.

Ooooh, ooooh, ooooh poor Scuttlebutt; our elated protagoni deuteragonist. The Princeling of all Weedles; who thought he was the most brilliant and handsome and strong Weedle to touch the face of the earth; or at least pretended to [he was a quirky guy and did odd things very often], after all. Were he to slow down and think; -or really think at all beyond 'that Caterpie is cute, it was nice holding her pod in my pod'- he would have realized the simple answer to her plea, and logical answer; would be. 'Hey, Caterpie! You don't have to gather your own berries, you can join up in my crew of adventurers, I'm sure my trainer will happily bring you along!'
He instead nodded, eating the last of his pokechow, and giving the best weedle equivalent to a [dumb] grin he could; and saying loudly and happily. "I'll help you find more berries, Caterpie!" Then hopping from the log, giving a nod. "Be listening for me, okay Lugh?" Scuttlebutt nodded to his newly found Yanma buddy, whom returned the nod between gnaws of Pokefood. "Aye, Cap'n." Lugh replied, before Weedle began to pad off, turning to Warren as he was lost in his Chilli; and saying simply. "I'll be back in a bit!" which of course to the trainer's ears was "Weeeeddlllee weeeddllee weeedle! Weedle Weedle!", and didn't make him look up from the chilli for more than a few seconds to watch the walking [baby] hairy bug pokemon.

Caterpie tilted her head. <Are you sure we should be wandering off?> She asked, but the Weedle was already going. Caterpie crawled after the Weedle.
<Wait for me!> She cried out. Then, she noticed a shadow behind her. She turned around with a smile, thinking it was a friend, but quickly screamed at the top of her voice.
The Spearow smirked. <Well well well, what do we have here?> He said with a wide smile. Caterpie shivered in fear. <H-H-HELP!!!> She cried out.

"Don't you touch her!", the words came from Scuttlebutt like a chirping trumpet; as the hairy Bug pokemon made his response to Caterpie's cry for help. He didn't bother to voice his attack [who really did that, really?, this wasn't a shonen anime or manga] but charged forward with his horned head lowered, reading to jump at the Spearow with a Poison Sting!
"You'll regret trying to fight us; you marauder!" they weren't that far from camp; of course- or so Scuttlebutt hoped!

The Spearow grinned even more widely as Scuttlebutt flung himself at the Spearow, head first. He always liked a meal that came with a show. Where was the fun when you couldn’t play with your food, first? Having expected such a response, he easily hopped away from the Poison Sting attack, then spun around to face the Weedle. <Well, if you’re so eager, I do suppose I can start with you?> He launched forward with his beak, ready to peck the bug.
<No!> Before the Spearow’s sharp beak could get close enough to Scuttlebutt, the bird found himself covered in a mass of sticky white strings. Before he could properly respond, he was shoved to the side, having not been prepared for the female Caterpie’s tackle. The female worm Pokemon had thrown herself at the bird, eager to save her new friend.
::spearow:: Dodged Poison Sting. Tried to use Peck on Scuttlebutt, but it missed. Hit by String Shot and Tackle.

There was no dishonor in working together with friends to stop big obstacles; none at all. Scuttlebutt had been taught this by his trainer in lectures- but he had never really experienced it. With the battle way earlier in the day against Zubat, it had been Scrapheap-Gizmo the Magnemite, doing most of the work. Now, he couldn't call on his friends- not yet at least. If he couldn't stand up to this bird Pokémon but his new friend could- what would that say about him in her eyes? So he'd work together, double team this Spearow and push whatever advantage he could get. Right now, he felt he should push the advantage of the off-balance Spearow, shooting a String Shot in an attempt to trip it further, and charging in for a second try at a Poison sting, dropping into a roll as the last of the string shot forward, trying to come up with his stinger towards the center of gravity on the bird Pokémon. ::Weedle:: Used String Shot and Poison Sting on Spearow. --- Back at camp, Yanma began to look towards the way Weedle had went, finishing his bowl of Pokechow. He didn't take off yet, but he did voice some concern [not like their trainer could understand him], "Yanmaa, Yannma..." or "I think the Cap'n is in trouble." for those who don't speak Poke-ish.

Oh, well this was just fantastic. Now his food was working together. Usually, one bug might stand up to him, but two at once? The fun was starting to melt away a bit. Now it was just annoying. Especially since he was now covered in twice as much stringy goo. That was just wonderful.
The Spearow’s displeasure, mingled with the sticky webs tangling up his wings, slowed him down considerably. Caterpie noticed this, and shot even more strings at the bird, who glared at her fiercely. She shivered, but continued her attack and she threw herself against the Spearow yet again, colliding with the bird simultaneously with her Weedle friend.
This double attack was not a very pleasant experience, even if it was coming from two measly bugs. Screeching in pain, the Spearow pecked at the Caterpie, whose shrill cry was sure to carry.
::caterpie:: Used String Shot and Tackle. Hit by Peck.
::spearow:: Hit by String Shot x 2. Hit by Poison Sting. Hit by Tackle. Used Peck on Caterpie.

The battle tempo was jumping, moving faster and quicker, it was getting frantic and Scuttlebutt could barely even think! He didn't have nearly enough experience in Pokemon battles or battles at all to know to slow down and think, or no what to do at all. He wasn't a wild pokemon, either- he had been hatched from an egg and this was the [second time in a day] he had had to fight for his survival against a wild pokemon! Somewhere deep down instinct moved past Scuttlebutt's 'intellect', and battle mode hit. He and his Caterpie friend could take this Spearow down, if Spearow's screech of was any semblance of hint to the upcoming battle! Of course, the bird Pokemon used Peck on Weedle's friend then- and that was just too much to handle! Not acceptable at all! Scuttlebutt's emotions moved faster than his instincts and another spray of string shot came; with another dip of his head to try to use poison sting again on his enemy. The wounds wouldn't hurt too much- but if he could get the Spearow poisoned, it might flee! ::Weedle:: Used Stringshot & Poison Sting --- Oh- Yanma could hear those sounds of battle then, and the cries of that caterpie and the Spearow woke up the whole party; their solemn chili eating trainer jumping from his seat on the bench, Magnemite coming to attention, Phanpy as well. As a quick head count confirmed Scuttlebutt wasn't around, Warren's heart started beating in a stiletto cadence, quick and fast like his pokemon's attack method. "Lugh! Get to that source and find out what's going on!" He ordered the Yanma, which quickly rocketed off into the direction of the Weedle and the Caterpie and their enemy; and Warren gave a nod to Magnemite and Phanpy. "Be ready for a fight." as he began to run in the direction that the Yanma had been heading, and the noises came from. It would take them a bit of time to arrive, unfortunately. Mere seconds in battles could be deadly, life altering, seconds in battle were precious moments not to be squandered.

Chili. That's all. She smelled chili and knew she was close by. Grey paused for a moment and smiled, a small blush creeping on her face. Atreus stared at her, worried that she might be sick. Sudden Fever Disease!? Gonorrhea!? He did not even know what that was; he just knew it was bad. He hopped on her leg and stared at her, tilting his head curiously.
>What is it, Master? Did you break something? Did you get the Claps?< yet at again he wondered about something else he knew nothing about(and hopefully never will). The girl looked at him and smiled, petting his head.
“Nothing. I just get to see Onii-san again.” She said in the softest voice imaginable; even he had to strain to hear it. Suddenly, she took off at a speed she had never run at before, going in the direction of his chili scent.
“Ooooooooo-niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-sssaaaaaaaaaaaa-n!!!” she cried as she got closer. Everything was blocked to her, except for that chili smell. She was going to find Onii-san, no matter the danger. Atreus did, however hear the danger and took off, not wanting her to get hurt. He trusted she could use her other poke’mon, Peppermint and Mr. Wigglesworth to help her out. He could hear the sound of a Spearow, a Caterpie, and a Weedle. He was glad that she didn’t see them, she might have had a heart attack. Though she thought Caterpies could be cute, Weedles terrify the poor girl to death.
>Fear not! Atreus is here to protect you, bug types!< he hopped out of the bushes, behind them, most likely startling them a little.
“Orange Head Onii-san!” she caught up to him, crashing straight into his body and wrapping her arms around him, knocking him to the ground.
“Onii-san. I can smell your chili for miles. I thought you would be so far ahead of me. But I was lucky enough to catch you here!” she smiled softly, nuzzling her head into his chest. “I’m a trainer now too! Speaking of which…where’s Atreus?” Grey took a look around, confused. Of course, finding the one person that meant the most to her would mean that she lost another…

Caterpie was still in massive amounts of pain from the Peck, given that it was a super-effective attack, but she didn't want to back down and leave the Weedle alone to be assaulted by this horrid creature. Why did birds have to eat bugs? Was it really all that necessary? She only ate berries, and yet this bird wanted to eat her
Shaking off the pain for a moment, she aimed a (slightly weaker) Tackle toward her foe. <Back off!> she snapped. <Leave us alone!> She wasn't exactly an expert fighter, and she wished the dumb bird would just flap off before one of the two went down, and hard.
Spearow, however, was intent on having his lunch, and having it as soon as possible. Sure, he could fly off and find some other morsel to munch on, but this was much more convenient. Though the Tackle hit, it didn't affect him too much. The Poison Sting was his real problem. With the sticky string preventing him from dodging, as he was significantly slowed, the barbs sunk in deep, and poison started to circulate his bloodstream.
<You'll pay!> he cawed at the Weedle, before jabbing with his beak toward his foe.
::caterpie:: Hit by Peck! Super effective! Used Tackle on Spearow!

The duo of Scuttlebutt and his Trainer Warren, [or Warren and his Weedle Scuttlebutt, if you want to get human-centric]- they were in a difficult spot. This was a time for action! For reaction, for speed! And they stumbled across the ground, like shambling zombiekarps; things weren't going as they should. This was a battle of life and death and Warren didn't have Scuttlebutt's back. Not that it was their fault, they didn't control circumstances. But Warren was not thinking of this; not at all- he was thinking with concern towards Scuttlebutt, with irritation at his slowness. He was feel anxiousness both from the situation and from the quite pretty girl who had just planted herself atop him and within inches of his face. Onii-chan, who called him that? He wondered those words as he looked at this girl. Ari? Was this Ari Grey? Heat came across his face so quick that it might seem he was some kind of fire Pokemon- but then he squirmed and wormed as best he could from out from under him. He might've even seemed like his pokemon as he was doing it. “Hey, Ari!” he yelped, nodding. “That's awesome! I need to deal with something really quickly though, okay?” His Pokemon, or at least Yanma, had continued onward, with Phanpy and Magnemite stopping incase their trainer had just been attacked. ::Warren:: Sneak Ninja Rocket Glomp was super effective. --- There wasn't a chance for Scuttlebutt to back up in the fight, not even for a moment, as the bird type pokemon's peck came down, the Weedle tried to swing under, but couldn't move, being stabbed by the attack and yelping in pain. Fight or flight instinct kicked in- and Scuttlebutt rammed his poisonous barb -horn towards the Spearow again. Hopefully reinforcements would arrive soon, as that attack had made his body feel like it barely had anything left. Yanma arrived then, and stopped from moving in only because he felt that his young friend 'Cap'n Scuttlebutt' needed to do this on his own, or at least as long as he could. No reason to not lay down suppressive fire, though- as he rocketted a shadow ball towards the earth, hopping to knock rocks up at the Spearow. ::Weedle:: Hit by Peck, its Super Effective! Uses Poison Sting.
::Yanma:: Used Shadowball on the ground.

<Gaaaah!>The needle of the Weedle sunk into him at the same time as he could feel more of the wretched poison enter his body. Not only that, but he got tackled by that Caterpie earlier too! Spearow was hungry and only wanted to eat them and what was so bad about that ? Caterpie slowly, but surely moved closer to her friend, the Weedle. She was starting to feel quite weak due to the Spearow's beak hitting her body. Flying types were harsh against her Bug self and it was getting harder to move and attack, but she did not want to back down. Out of the blue a ball of energy crashed towards the ground, rocks flying towards the Spearow. He flapped his wings to get away, but got a nice little rock planted in his chest sending him to the ground. He was getting really mad at the two bugs that he did not notice the Yanma assisting from the sky. <Just roll over and die already!>Crashing towards the the two bugs he aimed at the green bug that clearly was the other bugs friend. She seemed the weakest and he just wanted a meal. She however jumped in front of her friend. Her voice going quite high pitched as a scream from her small lungs could be heard ringing through the ears of anyone around them. <I won't give up! He is my friend and not yours to take!>Releasing strings towards the Spearow in hopes for it to back down she jumped into the air and tackled it getting hit by the peck attack at the same time. She crashed with a huge thump towards the ground and at the same time the Spearow crashed towards the ground. The Spearow not yet ready to give up looked at the Weedle with vicious eyes as he tried to pierce his defenses with it. However the poison was taking its effect on Spearow and he would only be able to take another attack to fall. ::Caterpie:: Hit by Spearow's Peck Used String Shot and Tackle ::Spearow:: Hit by Weedle's Poison Sting, Caterpie's String Shot and Tackle and random flying rock Used Peck on Caterpie and Leer on Weedle

Scuttlebutt's defenses fell- but not because the Hairy Bug Pokemon was afraid of the bird. He knew his friends would be here any moment, he had nothing to fear but fear itself. However, the Leer made him angry, really angry, especially after the spear bird Pokemon stabbed at his friend the Caterpie! But, no experience or not, even over the flow of blood to its ears, the Weedle could hear the thump of his friend Yanma now, he could hear the sound of those wings thumping against the air- and he had a plan then. It was crazy- but so was Scuttlebutt, in every square millimeter of his Weedle form. Warren tried to be a tactician too, so why couldn't Scuttlebutt? It was like father like son, and Scuttlebutt had known no other parent than Warren. “Miss Caterpie, get back, run away!” Scuttlebutt bellowed, before turning to Lugh, and nodding to the 'clear wing' [dragon fly] Pokemon and sending a string shot to its leg, running from the Spearow and throwing himself skyward. Let the Spearow try to chase him in the air, because there the pecks would be harder to hit, and it'd take just one well aimed charging Poison Sting to send them both to the ground, but more importantly make Spearow all the weaker. As Scuttlebutt swung towards the sky and his Yanma friend, the Yanma sent another Shadow Ball 'Artillery strike' down towards the Spearow, hoping to knock up more rocks against it and keep it from picking off Scuttlebutt midair. He had no idea what the kid was planning, but Scuttlebutt had spunk, and if Cap'n Scuttlebutt had a plan, he had a plan. ::Weedle:: Used Stringshot, retreating/repositioning himself to try to be on Lugh the Yanma's back.
::Yanma:: Used shadowball on the ground, attempting to help Scuttlebutt in his plan, whatever it is.
