Wild Delibird! { Delibird }
<I'm so glad you all like your gifts.> The Delibird beamed at their happy expressions as they did what they deemed best with the presents. Either eating them, or playing with them, it was only great to see such love and affection in the group. Then the human spoke in funny words, ones that he didn't understand without Scrapheap's translation.
<Join your team? But then I can't deliver gifts to all of the Wild Pokemon. Pokeballs are very restrictive, you know?> He replied with a knowing look in his eyes. Often he saw trainers with Pokeballs of their own, encountering wild Pokemon and yet keeping their own in their protective spheres. It wasn't something he enjoyed, at least in his mind.
<Still. Trainers do travel a lot. If you can convince me that I can complete my mission of bringing joy, then I would take up your offer.> He sagely nodded his head, looking at the group expectantly for some kind of answer.

Cre giggled, nudging the Delibird with her long nose, before rushing back to her trainer and ruffling against him. Without hesitation she grabbed a Pokeball at his belt and threw it up, and another and another; until she had released Scuttlebutt, Rach, and Boreas. The Spearow had apparently been asleep, because it soon plummeted into the faintly beginning snow, and grumbled at his elephantine companion. Scuttlebutt rocketed up onto Warren's shoulder, and into the folds of his cloak, giggling in Weedle form, and Rach blinked at the Delibird, before somersaulting atop of Warren's head- again... the young man grumbled a moment, rubbing the egg with his fingers gingerly, holding it in his arms closely, and holding the weight of his Pokemon the best he could, though the Totodile known as Rach which was nested upon his head [well more his shoulder] made him lean forward a bit. Lugh's ball was the last one, and the Yanma hovered close to the camp fire, apparently enjoying the warmth. Cre giggled, nodding to all of her friends, before turning to Delibird. <These guys are really really strong, believe it or not! And so is our Trainer, Warren! Think of all the gifts you could bring to the Pokemon of Cheyenne with our help! It's like bodyguards, you know?> She giggled, rushing forward to try to hug the delibird with her nose. And Boreas landed atop his trainer's opposite shoulder, cawing. <That girl needs some ridielin>, to which Scrapheap turned menacingly to the bird. <She just had... candy or something.> and then back to the Delibird. <And you know, we could prove how strong we are- friend...> he leaned forward, as if mimicing a mobster character. <Better to be our friend than our enemy, you know.> Warren, meanwhile, was totally flabbergasted at the whole scene. Did his Phanpy really just grope his waist repeatedly looking for Pokeballs, and throw almost all of his Pokemon out to greet the Delibird? Really? Maybe it hadn't understood him, but who could know. "We could really use your help, Delibird..." The thing thought it was santa, didn't it? "How else would we know which wild Pokemon have been good or bad, and which deserve to be fainted for being bad or given gifts like I did to that Zigzagoon?" Scuttlebutt was paying attention enough to translate it mostly verbatim, though he said 'santa' instead of Delibird. Warren's hold on the egg came closer, it felt a lot warmer, and he could hear noises from inside. Was it about to hatch? ::Egg:: Incubated for #10 posts. 10/10 posts done. Egg hatching?

Pokemon encounter ! The Delibird nodded as the worm translated Warren's words for him. <You're right. I suppose I shall help you with that as well.> He began to request that Warr toss a pokeball at him, but was stopped short by the distinct sound of a hatching. He turned to view the egg that was now rocking steadily.
Egg hatching!
Woah! All of a sudden, the egg in Warren's grasp began to rattle and shake faster and faster as the baby inside fought to escape it's confines. Put on the music, 'cause your egg's about to hatch!
Soon the shell's surface ruptured, a huge crack forming and splitting the shell in half. A mighty thrust using all the force of the baby Pokémon was enough to free it, one side pushed down as a small, purple pokemon emerged. As it crawled out from the shell whence it grew, the baby opened its eyes for the first time and took in the sight of light. The baby looked up, the first face it saw being Warren's. <Mommy?> It called. Suddenly, tears formed in its eyes, and suddenly the Cherubi, as it was called, began to wail and cry as the pain of hunger was felt.
Congratulations! You gain:
Name: Gender: Level: 1 Grass Chlorophyll Attacks: Tackle, Razor Leaf, Aromatherapy
The Delibird's eyes glistened as the egg hatched, his excitement clearly showing in his expression. However, there was still the matter of catching, which he quickly remembered when the baby plant began to cry. <Anyway, If you wish, you can catch me.>
Accepts invitation to join your team.

The dark haired young man almost shivered in anticipation as he watched the egg hatch, feeling the warmth of it come from him as every moment went onwards, and then the little cherry pokemon appeared in his arms, sqauwking something he didn't understand. Scuttlebutt corrected the little Cherry, <No, that's your daddy!> and then Scuttled off their owner's shoulder, shooting a stringshot at Magnemite. The Weedle knew very well what that 'hat' was, a covetted rage candy bar!
"Scuttlebutt, yeah, bring me that!" the Pokemon trainer called, nodding to the hairy bug as it swung towards the Rage Candy Bar. "Cre, go check the fire's heat, so I can make some Pokechow for all of you."
The little Elephantine pokemon saluted her 'daddy', and waddled to the fire, to check on the heat of the fire as Warren had demanded. She hovered her little nose over it for a second, before giggling. "Phanphanphy!" <A-ok, Warren!> and the attempt at sticking her thumb up made it all the more clear. Warren nodded to her, before grabbing a Pokeball with his spare hand, enlarging it, and throwing it into the air, headbutting it towards the Delibird, and holding the Cherry Pokemon with both hands. He had to get some food in her and get her in a Pokeball, or she might freeze!
And so the race was on, as he unwrapped the Rage Candy bar [or unwrapped it more, depending], and put it in front of the little cherry, who munched daintly on it. Yeah, it was junk food, but she needed something in her tiny belly now!

The pokeball hit the delibird, who did not seem to resist at all, allowing capture really easily. The ball fell to the ground, on the snow that was started to accumulate. It shook a couple of times before the delibird was caught.
::Delibird:: Level 8 [ M ] Vital Spirit || Hustle Present | Present | Present | More presents
When the pokeball finally stopped and let out a little click to signify the pokemon was captured, something rather odd started to happen. The pokeball started to move, at first just a little bit, gently inching forward, before it started to scurry forward at a much quickly pace. The movement made the snow that was once covering the culprit to fall off, exposing a paras, its two pincers balancing the pokeball on its back. The pokemon seemed quite pleased with itself. It always wanted a pokeball. They were so shiny and red and beautiful. She had seen them in the past and felt envious of the trainers that seemed to have an unlimited supply of them. Which is why this one probably wouldn't mind if the paras left with the pokeball... right?
The paras kept scurrying, trying to get as far away as possible. It still thought that the snow was covering her tracks. She was going to do it! This was the day this paras finally got her very own pokeball! Of course, she would have to be careful. Awful stories of the pokemon trapped inside those orbs scared her a bit, but it was worth the risk. As long as she was careful, there would be a new mirror in her little den.

Warren continued to hold the little cherry Pokemon in his hands, feeding her the chocolate bar slowly as his Pokemon went to work. With an absent minded nod to Boreas, he gave a simple command. “Boreas, go get the Pokeball.” and it was then, while supervising his Pokemon working, that the young man noticed the scurrying Pokeball. Without hesitation, he barked an order to the little bird Pokemon. “Peck that Paras! Get it scared and make sure it does not get away with that Pokeball!” the young man watched his somewhat cold bird Pokemon flap its wings frantically, picking up more and more speed, before giving the bug pokemon the evil eye of a leer and then swooping down into a dive bomb, channeling energy into its beak, and forming a peck at the last moment, which rocketed towards the bug and mushroom Pokemon. ::Spearow:: Boreas used Leer and Peck on Paras. Warren's other pokemon watched in silence, not sure if they should jump in to help Boreas or trust in his ability. Warren however, watched confidently. The bird may've been taken out by Scuttlebutt in a frantic battle before, but he had a strong fighting spirit.

The Paras dropped the Pokeball off to the side and tumbled backwards from the Peck. That really really hurt! The Leer didn't affect him because he had his head turned however, the Paras turned and shot a Poison Powder towards the bird Pokémon.
The Pokeball laid off to the side, if you were really quick or had a Pokémon get to it the Paras probably wouldn't notice...maybe.

Boreas was probably the meanest of Warren's Pokemon, when it came down to it. Or at least this was the case when he got angry, and as he felt the poisonous spores of the poison powder enter his little lungs after frantically trying to flap the wind which was carrying it away- the little bird was very very very angry. It leered at the little parasitic mushroom having bug, turning that evil glare intently at it before swooping down for another super effective peck. The energy channeled through his beak before he swooped down to channel it into a spearing momentary bite-peck. Even as he did, he could feel his health deteriorating from the immense pain of the poisoned status. ::Spearow:: Hit by Poison Powder. Poisoned. Used Leer and Peck on Paras. Hurt by Poison. Warren walked away from his steadily working helpers, his Pokemon, and the camp, watching the frantic battle between his Spearow and the Grass-bug type. He almost motioned for his Totodile to Ice Fang it, but as he held the little Cherubi, he shook his head. This was Boreas' fight, and if he took it from the bird Pokemon, it would harm their relationship. "You can do it, Boreas!" he called out, cheering on the little bird Pokemon. He knew it had potential, he had seen it already in the battle with Soren.

The Paras nodded in satisfaction as her spores landed successfully on the fierce avian, poisoning it, and started to make her way away, scuttling towards the undergrowth. She looked back just as she reached the undergrowth, only to be frozen in place by the fearsome leer directed at her. Her muscles froze up, but she could do nothing as the Spearow honed in for the attack, shrieking as its beak pierced her dry flesh with an audible crunch. Momentum blew her back, and several dull blue, orange and toxic green spores flew from her body upon contact. >No fair!< she screeched, and lunged forward, her sharp talons clipping together in anticipation of contact as she slashed her sharp, salmon coloured claws through the air, releasing several more spores in the process. ::paras:: Ability Activation: Effect Spore. (Defense -1) Used Scratch.

[ooc; Rolled a 1d10 for Effect Spore, because of it' 30% chance to cause a status effect. 1-3 would've activated it, rolled a 8. The Roll ]Boreas swooped very low in the peck attack that had pierced the Paras, and was on his fluttering flapping frantic climb into the sky as those spores buffeted into the air. Instead of attempting to buffet them away, he simply climbed higher and higher, making a flip in the air before swooping down, leering evilly at the Paras as he charged energy into his beak once again for a peck his descent was too quick to take the time to dodge when Paras sliced at him, and he rolled towards the ground after the strike and launching the energy of the peck towards the crab-mushroom bug. The little bird Pokemon squawked angrily at the bug as it went on, and Warren lost his cool. Without hesitation, he tapped a Pokeball against the baby Cherubi, and then pocketed the Pokemon for the moment, reaching for a potion if he needed it. He nodded towards the bird. "You can do it, Boreas! Show her your strength!" And he nodded towards Scrapheap as well. "Swoop in there and magnet pull Delibird's Pokeball away from that bug." ::Spearow:: Boreas was not effected by Effect spore. Hit by Scratch. Hurt by Poison. He used Leer and Peck on Paras.

The Paras was, once again, trapped in the Spearow's glaring eyes, feeling her muscles seize up tensely. The beak pierced him hard, causing her to squeal with pain. She tumbled across the ground, causing more plumes of spores erupting from the tiny mushrooms on her back. She managed to dig her feet into the ground to stop from sliding any further. Anger bubbled inside Paras and all thoughts of escaping were wiped from her mind, replaced by a haze of revenge. She quickly scuttled forward and aimed a swipe of her claws at the bird Pokemon. [ooc; Second round Roll. Effect Spore is effective. Effect is Sleep ]Boreas had pecked the bug once again, and was trying the same tactic of flying upwards and away from the spores that exploded into the air, but this time he was not so lucky. As he got into an arch which would have let him swoop around for a second peck [and get that talon swiped in his face], the little birdy was hit by the sleep causing spores of the Paras' ability, and plummeted from his dive, saved from the scratch which was coming his way only by the fall. It was practically emnating Zzzs there as it fell to the ground, and Warren was frantic what to do. This really was Spearow's fight, and while he could send one of his other Pokémon out there to help the bird, it'd be a blow to it's pride. He thought and thought and thought... his newborn Cherubi was a grass type, maybe she could help! And so he scanned her Pokeball quickly with the Pokedex, noticing a move which he wasn't entirely sure would help- but seemed like it might. He wasn't sure it's affects, but he threw the little Cherubi from her Pokeball, catching her and the ball midair, and nodding. "Sweetie, use Aromatherapy on Boreas, that Spearow." he pointed, and the Cherry giggled, <Okay daddy!> before sending sweet, almost mystical scents the way of Spearow, and awaking him and making the entire camp feel better. "Ruuubi!" she tweeted in Warren's arms. And on the battlefield, the crumble form of Spearow stirred, standing up and glaring at the Paras, using leer once again, and charging in for a peck. Warren's Newborn Cherubi is released, and uses Aromatherapy.Hit by Effect Spore and Fell Asleep. Dodged Scratch by falling out of its way. Healed of Poison and Sleep. Woke up. Used Leer & Peck on Paras.

Attracted by the sounds of battle, Grey peered from behind a young man who seemed eagerly attentive to the small scale war going on in front of him. His Pokémon obviously had some skill, and he must have had some as a trainer. The young woman watched on silently, hunkered in her dark colored jacket.
His dedication to training his Pokémon must have been intense. It was cold enough out that the poor girl could see her breath escaping with every exhalation. She quiet clucked her tongue, surveying the battle with the Paras. It didn't even cross her mind to pull out her Pokedex and identify the creature. If this boy won, then she'd find out just what the creature was from him. In any case, there was an unattended campfire at the moment.
Grey turned back to this young man's little camp, and found a seat beside the fire. Duskull, who'd been enjoying the battle immensely soon grew bored and took a place next to her. "Yes, yes. I'm sure he'll do fine." She said, noticing the ghost pokemon's questioning gaze. "It's not our fight though. Relax."

Wild Paras!
{ Paras } (Defense is something low) Hit by Peck -- Critical Hit and x4 damage Fainted. Spearow gains .5 levels. Cherubi gains .5 levels.
The extremely super effective move was like a knife being jabbed right into her back, and as a final puff of Effect Spore flew into the air, she found all of her strength leave her body. She made several heavy steps, trying to regain her vision and energy, but it was all a pointless effort. She collapsed right on the ground, unable to move, too exhausted and pained to even think, and her brain ended up shutting down.
Forced fainting, in order to recover her lost health. But it left her completely vulnerable to the Spearow's predatory actions, if it chose to act upon them. Though she recalled thinking about it earlier while talking with her friends, that if she fainted, being eaten wouldn't have been such a problem. It was like sleeping and having your leg tickled-- it wasn't something you noticed.

Warren slipped the potion into his pocket, reaching for a Pokeball without a second's thought as Boreas looked angrily at his fallen opponent, having flown up into the air just in time to dodge the spores. Without a word or a second glance, he fluttered back to Warren's shoulder, only to have his trainer throw a Pokeball with his left hand, holding a giggling Cherubi with his right hand and arm. Even as the ball flew forward, Warren walked towards the Paras.
As their trainer did this, Scrapheap the Magnemite and Scuttlebutt the Weedle, the two most senior members of Warren's team, looked at this intruder quizzically. Did Warren know her, why was she here? The Magnemite fluttered in silence, before he and the Weedle approached her. <Who're you...?> the Magnet pokemon asked, "Maaaaaggneeemite!", and <She's cute!> from the little hairy bug Pokemon said "Weeedlleee weeedle weedle!" to the normal ears of a human.
Cre the Phanpy and Fragarach the Totodile sat on the opposite sides of the fire, looking at the girl before focusing on the slowly warming fire which their owner would make some pokefood on, and some food for himself as well- when he got done.
-1 Pokeball, 3 remaining.
Warren looked behind himself, to the girl, looking her over for a second and then focusing on the Delibird's Pokeball, and the one he had thrown at the Paras. "Hey!" he called out, hoping his Pokemon would last for a moment.

The Duskull's voice was hollow and ominous when he spoke to the questioning pokemon. They were simply curious as to why this creature and his trainer where loafing around by their fire. A sensible question if ever Duskull had heard one. 'Uh, hey. You um... don't have to worry or anything. We're not gonna start trouble.'"Hey little guy." Grey's voice was pleasant as she reached her hand out to the little Weedle. The gesture was slow and friendly, so the little guy wouldn't be frightened. She patted his head cautiously, avoiding the large spike on the top of his buggy cranium. "There's a good... uh." She reached into her pocket, drawing forth her Pokedex, which she aimed at the little insect. "Weedle, the hairy bug pokemon. It attacks using a two-inch poison barb on its head. It can usually be found under the leaves it eats." "Weedle. That's a cute name." She grinned at the little thing, poking it's bulbous nose gently.

As the Pokeballs of the Paras and the Delibird dissipated into the teleportation that was instilled on all Pokeballs past a certain number, Warren turned back to camp, confident that he and his party had gained valuable companions. Even that thieving Paras had its own merit, in ways. But there was a matter to deal with, before anything else. He turned back towards camp without hesitation, looking at the figures there and at Scuttlebutt being what looked like petted. The young man strolled forward towards his camp, if his Pokémon were being attacked they'd fight back- he was sure of that.
Absurd Orange hoodie on in clear view as he brought Cherubi back into her Warm Pokeball- and the stupid white cloak he had packed to deal with the cold fluttered behind him, he must've looked distinct, be it 'totally weird' or 'striking'. And his wild dark brown hair fluttered against the breeze as he walked towards teh cooling warmth.
"My name is Warren, miss. I can see you've already met my Pokemon- as has one of your Pokémon..." he tilted his head. He pointed to the Duskull. "What's your name?" he climbed in on the opposite log of the girl, beside his Totodile, and then leaned forward to check on the fire and slowly cooking Pokémon food. He nodded, going back inside with the backpack and all, and coming out with a trio of heat over the fire quick noodle dinners, and a package of quick heat roast beef.
"Hungry, friend? Bring a tent?" Warren was speaking a mile a minute, but it was because he was trying to get things done and done right.

A pair of large eyes were the only things visible in the dark, the rest of the creature was shrouded in the shadows. Creature suddenly pounced, heavy paws coming to rest atop a tiny insect.
<Gotcha!> the creature said, enjoying it's meal in peace. <That's what you get for being slow~> It licked it's paws when it was done eating, and began to wash it's face.

Eva watched the trainer as he approached. She remained seated on the stump across from him. "You can call me Eva." She replied, "And uh, no... I didn't bring a tent or anything." She had a sleeping bag though. Grey herself didn't notice the little pokemon slinking around in the grass near them. Duskull was equally oblivious, he floated in mid-air, humming to himself gently as his eye spaced off in all directions. [Yeah, this sucks... didn't know where I was going with this post.]
