The Caterpie was weak and could barely move. She was ready to faint, but she had the strength to stay clear and use her remaining strength to move. How odd this all was as it started with her looking for food for the winter and now she got new friends and been able to fight for them. <I.. I will. Please stay safe!>The Caterpie quickly moved out of the way. She did not want to get hurt anymore than she needed too, but she was ready to fight with the little strength she had left if she had too. The Spearow charged towards the Caterpie with no attack in mind except for his claws ready to snatch her up, but another bolt of dark energy hit the ground sending rocks towards him. He got so angered that he changed his view back to the Weedle that was now in the air hanging after a Yanma?! <What the hell is going on! Why are you mere insects fighting so hard to not become my next meal!>Oh hell no! The Weedle was so trying to escape and the Spearow did not like this at all. He flapped his wings so hard that he escaped all the rocks and blew the Caterpie away towards a tree sending her to safety under a small branch with leaves. He then flew fast and rough towards the Weedle to try and snatch it up with his beak before he got to do whatever he was planning. The little strength Spearow had was all it needed just to take this wretched bug down. Pushed under a branch with leaves due to Spearow's powerful wing flap. Is hiding. Dodged the flying rocks. Used Peck on Weedle

Teamwork was about more than trust and following orders. It was about caring about your teammates and knowing when to make a move in favor of them, it was about taking charge and using your intuition when it came to it. Yanma, he might not have been the wisest or street guy in the bunch [or really out of anyone], but he knew this Spearow was his teammate's enemy, and he saw it 'a mile away' thanks to his natural abilities, compound eye and speed boost. “Cap'n, hang on!” the Yanma bellowed, as his Weedle friend reached the top of his swinging climb, and then he launched himself forward at the Spearow, hoping to hit him faster than the bird could gain the altitude to hit Scuttlebutt, and giving a roll as if to throw Scuttlebutt out of the bird pokemon's reach, before about fourty-five degrees of spin in, rocketing forward in a quick attack at the Spearow, still using his eerie foresight. As it went on, Scuttlebutt could do all he could to hang on and shoot more stringshot to tighten his ropey string which was holding him to his friend. ::Weedle:: Dodged Peck/was Flung out of the way of Peck. Used String shot.
::Yanma:: Used Foresight, and used Quick Attack on Spearow.

The Quick Attackw as true to its name, and much too fast for Spearow to dodge. Thrown back with a caw of mixed irritation and pain, he felt his energy slowly drain. He still had enough to deal with these irritating bugs and eat that frustrating Caterpie that still cowered beneath the leaves. Yes, he would have a bonanza of a feast. A trio of delicious bugs for Spearow to savor. It would be the perfect mithridate for his usual winter famine. The Weedle seemed to be using the Yanma like a tank; both offence and movement. Perhaps Spearow would try to attack it and see which hindrance was better to remove first. Soaring low to fly in synchronization with the Yanma, Spearow rapidly drew close to one of the Yanma;s wings, aiming a Peck at it. He had the advantage of a closed distance to increase accuracy, even if he also had the disadvantage of being an easier target if the Yanma retaliated. ::spearow:: Spearow used Peck on Yanma. [/B]

Yanma could feel the heat of the battle stirring it its heart strings. Some long lost memory of something else, some long last battle field. The Spinarak and their Ariados commanders had traps laid, they did they did! The Irish God of battle named pokemon was having a flashback; a pokemon with PTSD, who had heard of it!, but he was having a flashback of such a battle, and as this enemy fighter moved closer, he did what instinct told him, what the flashback made him do out of knowing what he was doing. When houndour are comin' aknockin' at'yer cattleherds, you grab your growlithes and you call your kinsmen to battle, run those buggers off. Not to different now, Lugh figured, and he muttered to the Weedle, “Hang on even farther and faster, Cap'n!” He nearly spiraled out of control at the Spearow's peck at his fragile wings, which sent pain through his body, but he held stability for long enough, long enough! A shadow ball was sent in the direction of his fianna [warrior band!] and he tried for a retreat. Hopefully Gizmo/Scrapheap would see the blast or Phanpy would and they'd come to their kin-pokemon's aid. Just a moment to take this beast down, to take him down! What was that damn kid doing? Scuttlebutt didn't have the knowledge of battle or the experience to know better. He didn't have any of that, and he only had his quirks- being fearless was a result of being sheltered for this long, and the hairy bug was fearless, charging off of his clear wing pokemon friend while aiming to do an unheard of- aerial Poison Sting upon the Spearow. They weren't even above the tree line yet, so while it was crazy, he did it. Trust can be a boon or a hindrance, and as the Weedle rocketed towards the Spearow with his head-horn ready to spear the beast and send it rocketing towards the ground, one could only hope that his trust in Yanma, Warren, and the rest of their team was not unfounded. ::Yanma:: Used shadow ball on the ground to signal Warren and Warren's Pokemon of their location and to hurry.
::Weedle:: Rocketed-Plunged-Charged-Jumped off Yanma to use Poison Sting on Spearow and try to send him plunging groundwards.

Spearow was frustrated. He wanted that feast of bugtastic Pokemon entering his mouth and in to his stomach! He could not think of anything else! Oh delicious Caterpie and Weedle wraps that were wrapped with fresh leaves and delicious Yanma stew! However his dream was cut short as the Weedle himself plunged his poisonous spike in to his chest. This was a odd feeling as more poison entered his body and the poison already in his body affecting him as the Weedle hit his body one thing was for sure. He could not fly anymore. Crashing down he hit the ground hard and with no energy left in his body he fainted. The Caterpie swiftly got out from beneath her branch and hurried towards the crash site. She was worried he might have hurt himself as he did such a dangerous move. Hoping that he was okay she kept her distance so she would not get hurt if the Spearow was the one with the upper hand, smoke blurring her vision. Weedle and Yanma gained 0.5 Levels

Atreus watched the whole battle and walked over to Caterpie, nosing her curiously. >Well aren't you a cutie? You're boyfriend does a pretty good fight. Must like you alot.< he did a houndour version of a smirk, and wagged his tail. At that, he looked to the weedle, Scuttlebutt, (still standing beside Caterpie) and tilted his head. >Hey, braveheart, you alive over there? Or you need some flame to lightcha fire, eh?< he snickered a little and watched him. He was still a baby, just like him. Yet, he was still impressed with his performance. Reminded him a bit of himself. After making sure that the two would recognize his presence this time, he turned his head in slight concern. >Now, I wonder where Grey went off to...< he sat and waited, knowing she would figure out where he went eventually. She was just psychic like that. "Oh...okay." she stood up, and held out her hand to help him up, blushing slightly. "Sorry, I got overexcited..." she looked slightly disappointed. The bed head spikes that formed on her head seemed to flop a little, rather like a rejected puppy's ears. "Anything I can do to help? I have good poke'mon..." ::::Grey:::: "No Time For You Yet" super effective

The battle ended as quickly as it began, it seemed. One daring move had ended it! Like the luchadores of Weedles past, the brave Tauros fighting Beedrill in stadiums, all that, Scuttlebutt had defeated the Spearow with one daring [and overwhelmingly stupid] move, plummeting to the ground with enough speed that he should have been crushed as he landed, horn dislodged frantically from the falling Spearow or not. Scuttlebutt truly scuttled his butt as he tried to scurry in the air, shooting webbing on a tree, on Lugh the Yanma, on anything! But there was nothing to be done, nothing he could do, he was going to fall to his squishy crunch death! Lugh was quicker than his Weedle pal thought, though, and as the Weedle plummeted, the Yanma swooped down, grabbing him by the hair of his teeth [so to speak, the back of the Weedle's neck with the mandibles of the Yanma], and slowing the descent. After a few seconds, they landed on the grount, or Scuttlebutt did with Lugh still hovering there gently like a waiting helicopter, ruffling the grass as his Weedle friend wobbled, he was exhausted, exhausted! But his enemy was down, the Caterpie was safe- and that big furry dog Pokémon that had apparently watched the battle; he spoke to him. Complemented him, even. Braveheart? Haha. Scuttlebutt wobbled a bit more, he really felt sleepy. “Uh, thanks...” Scuttlebutt chirped. He felt both exhilarated and exhausted, and stronger from the battle. Above, Lugh chuckled. “That was reckless, kid. But you did good. Glad ta call you cap'n, you're worthy of it.” --- Warren smiled gently as his female friend [who was so prone to calling him brother] helped him up. But he did more than that, his face flushing with heat. She was really cute- he hadn't realized it before... it had been a long time since they had seen each other- Scuttlebutt was in trouble, he had to stop daydreaming! “Follow me, I dunno what's going on, but Scuttlebutt needs help, I heard him and Lugh!” of course, Ari knew who neither of those two were; and as the young man and his Phanpy and Magnemite rushed forward, he was already pulling out a potion, the best thing he could think to do. He saw Scuttlebutt wobbling, and before even surveying the battle field or checking for danger to himself, he kneeled down, pulling out the purple and white spray device, and spraying his Weedle throughly with it. Scuttlebutt's wobbles lessened, and he looked happily at Warren. Of course, they were a team! Team members didn't let each other down! As Scuttlebutt stood better, and seemed to be back to normal, Warren surveyed the field. Looked at the crumpled spearow on the ground, purple fluid from it. He looked up to Yanma, and then to Scuttlebutt. Had his Weedle really beaten this bird Pokémon? Either the Spearow was weak, or would be a danger later. Warren wouldn't have his Pokémon attacked and wouldn't waste a chance to catch a Pokémon. With only the words, “Good job, Scuttlebutt, Lugh!” he pulled out a Pokeball, enlarging it and then throwing it at the Spearow, the ball spiraling over the bird Pokémon before opening up, catching it in its beam, trying to catch it. “Where's your Caterpie friend, Scuttlebutt; is she hurt?” Scuttlebutt nodded, and then ran in the direction of his Caterpie friend. Lugh, however, swooped down to the firery black puppy pokemon, and gave a nod. “Your fire attacks could've helped us against that pesky bird- but you let the kid test his mettle without butting in. I appreciate that.” The Yanma was the perfect gentleman as he said those words, and then glided off to his trainer, circling Warren for a moment and then landing on the grass to his left, chewing on it. The orange jacket wearing trainer was lost in the moment, muttering happily. “Ari did you see that? My Weedle, Scuttlebutt, took down that Spearow on his own! Haha!” the laugh was a bit nervous, he was overcome with emotions at the whole scene.

The Spearow was sucked into the pokeball; no chance for escape. It felt the restraint of the pokeball trying to keep himself from getting out. However, dirty trickery was afoot! The electric sparks from the power outage blasted the Spearow out like a cannon! It arced in the air slightly, before making a safe landing in a nearby bush. The pokeball, however, slammed into a tree. This was too much for the poor pokeball, and it shattered into thousands of petty; unusable pieces. The capture was a failure due to the power outage!
::Spearow:: Capture failed, one pokeball lost! Try again?

Boy did that make him a bit irked! A perfectly good pokeball wasted on trying to catch this Spearow, and not succeeding! Warren's face flustered for a moment, the trainer was still really confused at it all. He had to catch this Spearow though, to protect his Weedle from it while they were going about the Route- assuming the Spearow would even try to attack Scuttlebutt again; it looked like the Weedle have given him a walloping. He reached for another Pokeball, rubbing its sides to make it enlarge, and then tossing it at the Spearow.
The other Pokeball had to be defective, the rangers couldn't honestly give out perfectly good Pokeballs for free, could they?

The pokeball slammed into the torso of Spearow, causing him to be engulfed in the red light once more. The pokeball sparked, but held together as the ball shook once..trice..thrice! The spearow was caught! The pokeball rolled onto the soft, loamy soil before coming to a fast halt. Inside, was one very peevish bird.

Spearow was caught! The young man grinned, and flashed a 'victory!' sign towards Ari, before quickly walking to the thrown Pokeball and picking the Tiny Bird Pokemon up. Placing the Pokeball in his belt, where the slightly clear lining of the Pokeball's 'roof' made the Spearow clearly visible [unconscious] inside. The trainer grinned stupidly at his friend. "I've got six Pokemon now, Ari! Six!" the trainer belted happily. Six Pokemon already, and he hadn't even been able to get that Pokedex to power up! --- Scuttlebutt was busy scurrying to his Caterpie friend, as he felt that he had to defend her- but more than that! He had to help her. This route was too dangerous for a little lady like herself, and Scuttlebutt just knew that she'd be happy and warm and protected if she was apart of his master's group of Pokemon. "Hey, Miss Caterpie! We won! We Won! But... are you okay? You should let my trainer take a look at you, you should join our group of companions!"

Grey followed her pseudo-brother, and almost passed him when he stopped. She had to keep going, especially since she couldn't see what was beneath her feet. When she stopped, her foot punted a small lump from under a branch with leaves. This just happened to be a Caterpie, but she didn't realize that yet. Only Atreus, and maybe the other poke'mon noticed. She smiled at Warren as he flashed her the victory sign. It was extremely adorable. This was why she liked him, he wasn't afraid of looking dumb. And personally, she always thought the enthusiastic V was dumb. But it was what he liked to do. "I have three. Atreus here....and Mr. Wigglesworth...and Peppermint." she ventured slowly. Atreus flinched as he watched the Caterpie shot across his view and put his ears down. They went back up after a minute, and smoke came from his nose. If anyone was watching him closely, they'd notice that he was laughing, just trying not to let anyone know. After a while, he coughed and yipped, rolling over onto his back. He couldn't help it. It was extremely amusing. He winked at Yanma in response to his comment, not wanting to ignore him. But it was slightly amusing. That Caterpie hadn't said a word to him yet. Was she afraid of him? Oh well, she had a right to be. He was the baddest fire type around, and she'd better recognize that. After he was done boosting his ego, and his stomach muscles (from the laughter) he stood up and walked over to his master. >Wassup, woman? When are we gonna eat?<::::Atreus:::: Hunger Super Effective Grey petted him quietly and smiled at her Onii-san. Then, she saw the Weedle and fell immediately on her ass. "WEEDLE!" she simply screamed and hid her head. Remembering all the Beedrill that chase her around, attracted to the honey she always has. "Gaaaaaaaaaah."

The Caterpie nodded in agreement with Scuttlebutt. After being attacked...she was surprised she lasted this long. She slid over to the Weedle, and gave him a thank you pat with her legs.

Scuttlebutt hopped happily on its pods for a millisecond, before calming itself to try and make it look like he didn't do a single thing like that. The quirky Weedle gave a nod to his Caterpie friend, then grabbed her by the Pod and started dragging her towards his trainer – soon to be their trainer with hope. “My Master is a really cool guy, miss Caterpie! Scuttlebutt chanted. And he loves bug Pokemon, he'll totally let you join our party, and then you can work with us and you'll be safe and never have to worry about food!” Scuttlebutt's voice almost ear shattered chirps in Poke-ish. --- Did Warren really look like a ten year old in Olive cargo shorts, a white t-shirt, a pair of jeruselem cruisers; and carrying a net around? He wasn't sure about it as Scuttlebutt dragged the Caterpie back to him, making the dark haired young man blink. Another bug Pokémon? He only had a few Pokeballs left; and still no water types, his family's specialty. Scuttlebutt, Scrapheap/Gizmo, Oomi [Phanpy], Lugh, his Zubat, and the Spearow- they were all Pokémon he had caught rapidly; but he still didn't have any water types yet, and he really needed one he felt. He was no bug type trainer, no flying type trainer, not even a poison type trainer; though he had some knowledge of their abilities. Only two unused Pokeballs remained in his possession; as well as a Great Ball and a Premier ball he had brought with him. That was only four chances to catch a water type of good quality to join his team, and to balance it out. But- this Caterpie, she really was weakened- and Scuttlebutt liked her; didn't he? As the trainer thought on it, he could only come to one decision. It wouldn't be right to leave this Caterpie out on her own to starve. His hand absentmindedly grabbed one of his two remaining Pokeballs, gained from the PokeRangers. The young man from the Orainge family threw the ball at the Caterpie; and watched the ball hit. “Really? You've got three Pokémon already...? That's great, Ari! We should have a Pokémon battle to check them out!” He was still worried ever so slightly about finding a good water type; but he hoped that he caught the Caterpie successfully- and that he and Ari were able to find out more about each other and their Pokémon. She was like his sister; so that meant he had to watch out for him, right? He ran a hand through his hair- things were getting more complicated all the more quickly.

Like most Pokeballs at the moment, this particular sphere was not exactly all that thrilled at being used. It smacked right into the poor Caterpie’s head, then fell to the ground without doing a single thing. The Caterpie stared at it, then Scuttlebutt. To her knowledge, Pokeballs were not supposed to behave that way. She giggled, assuming that it was the human’s fault, then decided to take actions into her own tiny hands.
Wriggling over to the sphere, she poked it with her head. This time, it worked, and she was sucked into the sphere. It didn’t even wriggle once, and gave a *bing* as soon as she was safe within its grasp. Inside, the Caterpie snuggled into a very comfortable position. Her need to ever worry about her safety was removed. Scuttlebutt would protect her; her own personal mithridate. She smiled to herself.

Warren's excitement for this all was making him be rude; despite not meaning to. Because the dark haired young man was so worried about these possible late additions to his team; he didn't even hear his “Imouto” as she was speaking, dealing with the Caterpie situation. His face got flustered at the failure of the Pokeball- what did that make him look like in front of Ari-chan...? Another malfunctioned Pokeball, even if the Caterpie came willingly into the Pokeball.
He blinked, finally realizing Ari's statement, at her scream finally registering. He blinked, slowly walking to her, picking up Scuttlebutt and the pokeball which Caterpie was in while he did. “What's wrong-” he asked. “Scuttlebutt wouldn't ever hurt anyone...!”

Everything seemed to go well. The trainer now two Pokémon richer and Scuttlebutt getting a potential wife was amazing. However there was ruckus going on everywhere all of a sudden. It was not unusual to say the least, but it was odd things going in three directions. On one side there was a cute and hopping sound going around. However a extreme amount of hits could be heard coming from that area as if a battle was going on. It abruptly ended shortly after. On the other side was a humming and buzzing sound. It was a rather soothing and sweet. It was in perfect harmony with the woods and was not drowned out by the other sounds everywhere else. So where would the trainer want to go? The sudden dying sound of battle where someone could be in need or the soothing melody of a unknown forest entity? The choices were open. Unknown Pokémon Gamble Make your choice. Or ignore the commotion and be all poopy

"If you say so Onii-san...." Grey looked down at Atreus. He looked hungry. But then she remembered that he wandered off while she was preparing the food for the other poke'mon. They left shortly after he came back. The poor thing hadn't eaten yet. As she put the food down, she looked up at the man-boy she called brother.
"Do you hear that? Or am I imagining it?" she petted Atreus behind the ear. "Do you think we should check it out?" She didn't really want to go anywhere where poke'mon were being hurt, but she supposed if they were, she would have to help them somehow.

The dark haired trainer and his team had assembled to finish their meal with their new found traveling companions, and as they ate, they giggled. Or at least, Scuttlebutt did as he playfully shot stringshots as the newly awakened Zubat, who glared at the Weedle, Magnemite, and Phanpy, basically all of his team aside from his new owner, who had hand fed him a package of high grade Pokefood, and made that stomach ache that had persisted for days go away. Scrapheap the Magnemite, he just gave a 'lol bring it zubat' glance back at the Bat pokemon, and Warren spent most of the time looking at his long time best friend.
The peace was not to last, no. As the trainers and their Pokémon sat around the Campfire, there suddenly came a sweet humming and buzzing sound on one side of them. On the other? The sounds of battle, and a dangerous amount of sounds. The trainer blinked, before giving himself a nod. He placed the six Pokeballs of the Pokémon he had withdrawn that were not Scuttlebutt, and he then spoke simply with the balls between his hands. “Scrapheap, Cre, Lugh, Yuri, Zubat, Return.”
As the Magnemite, Phanpy, Caterpie, and Zubat were recalled to their Pokeballs by the red light of those Pokeballs, Warren quickly replaced their Pokeballs on his belt, and then grabbed his backpack, which was oversized. “Scuttlebutt, come on. We need to investigate.” He nodded to Ari, smiling. “And I'd appreciate you and Atreus and your other Pokemon's help.”
He unwrapped a few piece of candy then, feeding it to Scuttlebutt as the bug swung onto it's owner via stringshot. The three Rare Candies made the hairy bug jitter after eating them, feeling energized and strong. Warren was happy his parents had thought ahead and sent him those candies, the fourth of which he tossed to Naomi. “Give that to Atreus, Ari-chan.” He grinned as he took off towards the sounds of battle, Scuttlebutt alert on his side as they charged forward.
They had to investigate, and help it they could. If nothing else they had to face whatever was attacking the other Pokemon- or they might find themselves attacked in their sleep.

Wingull Eating a Wurmple Rattata Just ate an Oran Berry
- <Ha hah! Rat, you've done me good. Good listener, good ally, good slave.> A haughty Wingull laughed as his beak jumped into his meal, licking around the tip of his beak as that refreshing taste of meat went down his throat. A somewhat timid Rattata was clutching an Oran Berry in his paws, as if he wasn't sure what to do with it.
- Sure, he helped that Wingull hunt down the Wurmple, and sure, he got an Oran Berry out of it. But it felt wrong. They double teamed the Wurmple just to make sure it went down nice and easy. It wasn't very fair. The most he could do was grumble some incoherent reply and dig into his meal, refreshing his own wounds from the previous battle.
- The pair of Pokemon appeared quite peaceful at the moment, even if there was a loud scuffle earlier. It was far too late to save the Wurmple from the fate of nature, but it was a bit odd to see a wild Wingull getting along so well with a Rattata.
