As King took his first steps on to route 1, it occurred to him that he hadn't seen his new growlithe since he had received it at the lab. He grabbed the poke ball and threw it, releasing his growlithe. He was glad that he had got a generally loyal Pokemon. At least he didn't have to worry about it not liking him. As he bent down to look at the canine Pokemon, it jumped up and licked his face. King laughed as he was lathered in drool. Eventually, he got up and asked his Pokemon if it wanted to walk along side him or should he carry it in a poke ball. "Just nod if you want to walk". Growlithe hastily nodded his head and King laughed at his eagerness. "That settles it then. We'll walk". He started to stroll down the path while growlithe kept running forward, noticing that it's trainer was a few feet behind him, and running back.

((Please put the link to your PC in your Signature when you have the chance. It helps us Mods a lot! =3 )) Just in ther trainer and Growlithe's sights, layed one of the skinniest trees of the forest. Not that that was a very important detail, but right below the tree rested one of its dead branches, and a small Seedot pacing around the tree in distress. For an acorn without hands, it was a wonder how they survived around these parts. They weren't exactly made for the cold season, which is why it was so upset. These Pokemon usually took their food in from the trees, acting like small parasites. They actually had to endure the cold every year, just to survive another Winter the next year. But instead of going off to find another tree to stay safe and hungerless, this one kept walking back and forth from the stick like tree. Venting out whatever anger it could for its chances of picking one of the worst places to rest up, it was by chance that it happened to look up and see King and Growlithe down the path. With narrowed eyes, it glared at them. Just daring them to get any closer, for it was not afraid to attack.

Growlithe started to run forward to play but stopped short at the expression on the seedot's face. "Growlithe! That seedot doesn't want to play. We're going to have to fight it". Growlithe nodded his head to show he understood. King quickly barked (no pun intended) out an order to use bite. "Try and get your teeth around it's legs so it can't walk".

Seeing that the Growlithe and trainer were going on the attack, the small Seedot knew it had to do something. By the way that the fire puppy was aiming at its legs, it was an easy jump to the left in order to dodge. Letting out a taunting chuckle as it did so, but refused to make any other noises than that.
It obviously was concerned about that attack though, even if it wasn't weak against it. It looked a lot stronger than it would normally be able to handle. So to raise its defenses, it used a Harden attack to raise the toughness of its skin.

As King saw the seedot dodge so easily, he hatched a plan in his mind. He could get growlithe to pretend to use bite and when the seedot jumped aside, he would get his jaws around the leg in mid air and swing it down against the ground. He relayed this command to growlithe and watched as it was set in motion.

This would normally be a good command, except for the fact that a Seedot...Was a seedot. For a while it merely stood still, not looking like it was going to dodge or anything. All that came from it was the silent hum of energy building up.
Crash! The Bite attack went around its legs, it didn't even have to jump. Through its constant humming it winced, and even faultered a bit before enduring the attack to all of its power. The Harden had done its job, making it weaker than it should've been. All that was left was to Bide its time.

OOC: Spirit! You're on my People to Kill List! Right below my brother and father(I couldn't decide who I hated more so I put them both in first.)!
King paused for a moment before realizing why it hadn't tried to dodge. He went over his choices in his head. 1. He could wait until the seedot tried to attack and then start his mighty onslaught of destruction and terror again(Mwahahahaha). 2. He could try and knock it out quickly. 3. He could run around screaming and wetting his pants. Or 4. , he could use roar. He decided quickly. Throwing his hands up in the air, he ran around screaming. Growlithe sighed and went with option 2. He ran forward and thought about the most effective way to do damage. "Growlithe, growl growl growlithe" (OK. I'll bite that weird stem thing and start swinging this thing against trees and rocks.). Stopping only to mark his territory, he set his plan into motion.

ooc: I can't help it that Seedot's have a crappy move list! xDDD
BIC:
<Must...Endure...Horrible smell...>
The Seedot cried as the sudden smell of urine reached its nose. It wasn't the best smell in the world, and was actually trying to hold its breath while biding through another violent Bite attack. Again, thank goodness for the Harden. Deep down it knew it would be knocked out by now if it hit at least three more rocks.
The Seedot was like a ticking time bomb now, shaking even harder in the grip of the Growlithe's mouth. Just daring it to hold onto it as the damage just kept piling up. Hey, Kings fault that he didn't use the Pokedex. Not that the Seedot cared, actually it was glad that he didn't use it.

King noticed that growlithe had taken action and blushed. He was embarrassed because his Pokémon was doing better on it's own than when it was listening to him. He was also embarrassed because he had wet his pants. He noticed the humming rapidly getting louder. He knew he had only moments to knock out this seedot. It was kind of annoying that growlithe only knew one move that did damage but none the less. "Growlithe! We have to hurry this up. Use bite and toss it up into that tree. Then ram the trunk so it falls down. This is our last chance." Growlithe heard and became determined to satisfy his trainer. With his last burst of energy, he ran forward to deliver his most important attack yet.

Indeed, the Seedot was getting ready to let out its strongest attack yet. Shaking visibly now as the Growlithe grabbed it again with its sharp and hard fangs, the Grass type wasn't sure if it would be able to fight long enough to let out its Bide attack. It was thrown hard into the tree, and with a dazed expression it looked up in surprise to see the fire type ramming it again into the tree.
It was just too much for the weaker Seedot, and it simply slid down the tree, being pushed up after so many attacks, and fainted. Its eyes were small swirls as it tilted to the side. The energy from the Bide attack was long gone now, luckily for King and Growlithe.
Growltihe gains a level. Capture, or move on?

King realized that he had been holding his breath for the last stage of the battle. He let it out slowly, whistling softly as he did so. He almost forgot about the Pokemon but he saw it on the ground and took out a poke ball. "Poke ball go" shouted King as he hurled the orb at the defenseless Pokemon. Seedot got sucked in and King and growlithe watched in anticipation. Wobble. Wobble. Wobble...

Ugh, the grass type couldn't believe that it had been beaten. Couldn't even let out a blasted Bide, and that just made the thing so dissapointed in itself. An urge to do better, thats what it wanted. Beat that blasted Growlithe, or at least be able to attack it this time. Those were its last thoughts as a wild Pokemon before the Pokeball had successully captured it. Now, it was half-tamed. Congratz! You have caught~
Species: Seedot Gender: You decide Ability: You pick, Level: 4 Attacks: Bide, Harden Personality: Is quick to anger in cold weather, but if its summer than gets incredibly lazy. Either way, a rebellious side will always show.
A curious expression crossed the eyes of a young bird; who had been watching King the entire battle. It was the best entertainment you could get out here, so who could blame it for trying so hard to be happy in this miserable weather. "Tail? Ta tail?" It chirped, velvet blue feathers decorated its entire body. Directing its body into a gentle swoop, it had a need to pester the trainer. Having a general idea that the trainer wouldn't really hurt the small Tailow, not without an amusing scene at least. It zoomed past King's head, the tip of its wing brushing against his hair.

King saw the tailow and felt a stab of pity for it. Both of the Pokemon he had seen so far were better suited to a Summer climate. He decided to catch it using his growlithe considering that seedot was a grass type. He watched as the tailow flew low over his shoulder and turned to repeat this maneuver. This gave him an idea. He consulted his pokedex which told him that growlithe learned ember at level six. Perfect. "Growlithe, use ember when it swoops past me again" shouted King. He then stood still and hoped growlithe had good aim.

The bird pokemon startled when it heard the trainer issue his command. It shot into the air and performed a barrel roll (DO A BARREL ROLL!) to dodge the attack, but even then, the flames clipped its wing. It screeched it's alarm. "Tai! Taillow!" Then it started to plummet, hoping for the flames burning sharply on its wing to die down. Just as it was about to hit the ground, the flames were put out. It swooped up again.
It yelled loudly as it swooped down, aiming a hard peck at the canine's forehead. Then it swooped up again, the air stinging its burnt wing tip. "Taii! Taiiillow!"

King decided that it would be more wary of growlithe now but that could change. His idea fully formed, he quietly said "growlithe! use your weakest ember so that it burns out before it reaches tailow. That should make more adventurous". He watched as growlithe spat out some sparks which fizzled out almost before they left his mouth. He repeated this several times, the tailow growing more excited at each fake ember. Hey! You don't have to be a hard hitter all the time to win.

(( If your going to Mod your thread, at least do a whole post. =D
Yeah, don't do that. Its my job. Not yourz! >=D ))
The tailow flew up into the tree's, despite the cold air that blew all around it. It was a hardy Pokemon that would only be glad to endure such weather, and battles like these as well. It glared down below at the Growlithe.
Things weren't adding up in its small head, after recalling the last Ember that it couldn't dodge after its awesome Barrel Roll. Now the small pup had lost its fire power? It was having a hard time believing this, so while in mid-air the Tailow preformed a Focus Energy while flying. It was against its better judgement, but it still decided to dive down and Peck the Growlithe.
At least it had some sort of protection...Sorta...

King thought about it and decided that the best thing to do would be to counter attack. He ordered his growlithe to use bite as soon as it came in range. Growlithe readied himself. He knew that he would need to be fast. Teeth against beak. Dog against bird. Who would win.

The Tailow smiled to itself as it realized at the last second what King's plan had been all along, but it really wasn't much of a plan, it thought. Opening its wings, its beak still glowing from the peck attack, it let out its skinny talons so that way its face would be clear of all fangs.
Or at least fight the mouth entirely, each foot holding the canine's mouth apart in order to dodge a Bite, and aimed its Peck attack at close range. Despite this quick thinking, our blue feathered friend hadn't thought out how its own plan would come out. Only thinking of dodging the bite, not anything else.
<Give it up, Puppy!> It taunted, while struggling with its own attack. It was having trouble reaching its target, from having such a stubby neck. So this could go either way.

It was then that king had an idea. An idea so evil that would have disgusted Team Death's leader. "Growlithe, use ember at full power" he cried. The close range would probably make this attack even more powerful. The best part was that it would be almost impossible for tailow to dodge this attack. Excellent. He was having roast bird tonight. In his pokeball that is. Even during this unexplainable evil streak he wouldn't dream of eating such a defenseless, little creature. Well, it was little any way.

Taken plenty off guard by the Ember's power, the Tailow was blown off onto the ground. Its feathers singed with a black tint, and its chest was still on fire! Having absolutely no idea what to do, but knowing that it was told once in its life time, the bird was lwft to jump around in the snow until it was smart enough to dive down in the cool, and wet snow.
That was enough to help stop the fire from burning, but now it was left with a painful burn mark on its chest, and health was gradually turning into nothing. Deciding that it had to do something instead of sit in the cold snow, the bird Pokemon let out a weak Growl attack.
