Seeing that nothing good was going on, except that the Growlithe was looking a little more tired than usual, the Venonat sighed in frustration. Its body was trembling with excitement,t he prospect of all that food, lingers in its mind. How it wanted it all for itself, that greed was enough for the bug type to take some kind of action. In order to speed the process up, it shook its purple fur to let out highly toxic spores from within the bushes. So the Poison Powder wasn't all out in the open, some of it was stuck in the nearby bushes, or even in the trees.
The Nidoran snuggled closer to Kenji in order to sleep as peacefully as possible. Until something landed on his nose. Making him let out a small sneeze, getting in a sitting posistion he rubbed his nose in relief. Something had made it itch, and when he looked at his paw, he saw specks of purple on it. Being a poison type, it was immune to being poisoned itself. But it had no idea that something was watching and attacking them, so he just cuddled back up with Kenji.

The first speck of powder landed right upon Kenji's maw also. He shot up instantly, ignoring the fact that the Nidoran was snuggled against him. It wasn't the feeling that had shocked him so, but the smell of this powder that was floating around them. It had the smell of poison. Kenji coughed as he inhaled some of it. Big mistake on his part. The powder began to float down into his lungs, slowly poisoning him. He went into a small coughing panic as his eyes glanced around quickly. Where was this attack comming from. It was a poison Pokémon and as far as he was concerned, most of them were groud-dwellers so it was most likely on the ground. Since he couldn't spot any pokemon, it was obviously hiding.
His eyes suddenly fixed upon a small area. Bushes and trees in that small area were covered with the powder also. Most likely, that would be where the Pokémon was. He directed an ember in that area, trying to hit all of the bushes and a bit of the trees incase it could climb. That was when he began to feel the effects of the poison. Pain shot throughout his body. His ember ended suddenly as his legs collapsed from beneath him. He tried to stagger back up and barely managed to. It took a lot more energy than normal, and even more to try and keep these poison spasms at bay. This was surely going to put their Route 1 adventure on hold.

Jumping up with a startled gasp, the Nidoran looked up at Kenji with worry. Why was he coughing so much? Was he alright? He better not die on him, he paniced at the thought of that happening. Before he could cry out himself, he stared ahead of himself as he watched a small bug-like creature pop out of the bushes.
It was a very ticked off little Venonat, that was running around in a panic to get rid of the fire that had caught on its antennes. Finally having the ability to put it out by stomping on them, for they were so long, the fire went out. With a constant chittering, it ran with its stubby legs towards Kenji, the urge for food gone, and was swiftly replaced by revenge. Since it was already running, it decided to try and Tackle[/b[ the fire type.
The Nidoran just stood there, helplessly watching as a funny thought crossed its mind. The purple specks...Since this thing was purple, did it release the poison that was hurting its friend? Frowning at this possibility, it shook it away.
<What should I do? I want to help, but I've never fought like this before.> He whimpered, looking around for aid. Maybe he could wake up Roran...Or something like that.

Kenji tried to dodge but wasn't quick on his feet thanks to the poison. He winced slightly as he was knocked down. Another surge of pain shot throughout him. He got up quickly and growled towards the purple fuzzy thing. He had never seen one of these pokemon before so he didn't know much about how to battle it. It seemed to be a poison type so perhaps no contact would be the best approach. He slowly moved to the side, as if watching the pokemon very carefully. That was when he noticed it. The thing that perhaps could have saved his battle.
Two long antenae were sticking out from its head. That meant only one thing. It was a bug type. Kenji flashed a smirk knowing that fire beats bug. Even with the poison equaling up the battle, he would still have a shot.
Kenji jerked to the right suddenly and opened his mouth to let out an ember. Why the jerking motion? Eh, he didn't really know. Perhaps to fake-out the pokemon. The flame didn't have it's normal fullness and color. It was strangely tinted purple and thinned. Nevertheless it would have to do.

The Nidoran looked at Kenji once more and noticed the Ember attack. He then got and idea and Tackled the Venonat into the attack. "...Ran!" it squealed as it watched the bug's purple fur catch on fire. The Venonat began to freak out and ran around trying to put the fire out. "Veno, Venonat!" (PUT IT OUT, PUT IT OUT!) it yelled before rolling around on the ground. Nidoran then ran over to Roran and carefully nudged him.

Kenji winced and fell to the ground again. This was not going well at all. He knew that in a few minutes he'd be passed out. He tried to sturdy himself up and found it quite hard. His energy was going really fast. He looked towards the tent and used most of his energy to run over and tackle Roran to wake him. <Need...pokemon center...> he groaned desperately. His claws scraped at Roran's back as he began to wake up.
"Kenji!" Roran shouted worriedly. It only took him a few seconds to return the team and tuck Kenji into one of his arms. With the other arm he grabbed the Nidoran. "Sorry, you'll have to come with us for a minute." His legs took him far from the campsite and towards the next town. They were really close, Roran had made sure incase something like this happened. The tent was left up since Roran knew that they'd be back as soon as Kenji was healed.
OoC// Roran has left Route 1. He'll be back as soon as I get Kenji healed.

OoC// -eerie voice- He's baaack... BiC//
Roran returned to the tent with the nidoran. He set him down quickly and said, "Sorry about that..." It was early morning when they returned, the sun was only just begining to illuminate the area. The team scrambled around him, some heading straight towards the tent to sleep, and others looking around for something to do.
Kenji returned to his spot next to the nidoran. Due to being healed and his energy restored, he no longer felt the need to sleep. He looked around as he remembered that venonat. Was it possible that it was still here? Seeing it no where in direct sight, Kenji went back to talking to the Nidoran. "What had we been talking about..."

Indeed, the Venonat had been long gone. That is, after rumaging through the abandoned tent to grab whatever leftover food it could before jumping out in a hurry. Leaving everything looking normal, except for a couple of moved items in the tent.
Looking up at Roran, the Nidoran gave him a reassuring smile that everything was alright and forgiven. He was thankful that he didn't have to squirm long before being set down onto the ground, making its way over to Kenji with a content feeling.
<Honestly, I can't remember. Its all a blur now. > Chuckling sheepishly to himself before looking at the other team members with slight curiousity, mostly in their actions. It was funny on what a Pokemon would do in order to get rid of boredom.
<I'm glad your alright though...That attack was kinda scary.> It admitted, sitting down on its hind legs now. In quite the talkative mood now, and there was no way that it would fall asleep now, not with everything that was going on.

"A blurr huh?" Kenji began thinking upon it more. It bothered him that he didn't know. He was just that kind of pokemon. After a few moments of thinking, he gave up and began a whole new conversation. <Well, I just hope Roran can finish whatever he needs to here. He wants to fill that pokedex of his as much as possible I think. And in the process we're going to get all the training we need for the gyms.> Was filling a pokedex hard? How many pokemon could there be out there?
"We're gonna pack up and continue around the route soon, so if you need to name or anything..." Roran announced to the team as he sat down and began to put away various things into his overstuffed backpack.
This caused Kenji to give a strange look towars the Nidoran. <So I guess we're going to say good-bye soon. What are you going to do when we leave? Search for a family of your own?> Kenji could remember them talking about families and how the nidoran wanted one.

The Nidoran gave a dissapointed look over at Roran, wishing that he would work a bit longer on gathering up the supplies before announcing that they had to leave soon. He had really wanted to get along better with his new friends, but they had to go. It wasn't like he could force them to stay on Route 1 with him, as nice as the idea sounded.
The idea that he could travel with this particular group didn't even occur to him as he nodded, remembering that bit of the prior conversation. <I guess its my only wish, its the only thing I've ever wanted. Someday, I'm going to be with a family as kind and funny as yours. I wish that so much, it hurts.>

<Kind and funny? Us? Surely you must be blind.> Kenji said with another unpracticed smile. His nose twitched as he tried to adjust it, but nothing made it seem natural. He looked over at the team for a quick analysis. <Roran is always paranoid about something even if he doesn't look it.> He could see Roran fiddling with the strap on the backpack and smiled, this time true.
"Why can't they make easy buckles?" Roran growled as his hands worked at it more. "Or what about snaps? Snaps are easy! Don't those Taiwan people think of snaps?" His tore the tag that read MADE IN TAIWAN off and threw it into the still burning fire. "Take that you inconsiderate fools." He looked to pichu and tossed the bag over. Pichu groaned and began to work on it.
<There's a rip...> Pichu noted after he finally finished. <Probably from when you tore off that tag.> Roran quickly took the bag and looked it over. Sure enough there was a good sized hole. He pulled out some tape and grinned. Good thing he always had tape on him. He taped it up and set it down. Packing up was officially done.
"A few more minutes while I put out the fire," he announced before looking around for a moment.
<I guess this really is good-bye.> Kenji really had enjoyed this pokemon's company even if it was a bit strange for him to be talking so much. Kenji got up and walked over to Roran before glancing back to the Nidoran. An idea had flashed in his head. <If you really want a family like ours, why don't you just come along with us? The only bad part is you'd have to come along all over Cheyenne with us and battle to the top.>

The Nidoran sweatdropped with an amused face as Roran began ripping apart at some backpack. He was quite the odd man, from its point of view. Entertaining though, and gave a small smile as a solution to the situation was found. Though he still would've been happy if the tape wasn't there to help fix it up, it just would've been an even funnier thing to watch from afar.
<I guess it is...> His soft voice trailed off, not sure on how to actually say 'good-bye' without taking 30 minutes of saying it over and over before actually leaving. The prospect of not having to leave these guys was an amusing thought, and he had a feeling that he would not have much time to think it over.
<EHHH?!> He nearly fell over in surprise at the offer. Regaining some of his previous composure, he sighed to calm himself down, but not by much.
<That would be so cool! I'd love to hang around with you guys, I don't mind battling at all. It would be fun to try.> Excited and happy at the same time, he started wondering how his new life would be if he was accepted into the group.

<Mmkay.> Kenji said in a strange fashion. He looked down at his mouth, suprised that it came out in such a girlish way. He turned to Roran and pawed at his leg for a moment to get his attention. When he finally assumed he had it, he spoke. <This Nidoran wants to come with us. Can he?> Roran looked towards the pokemon and flashed out his pokedex. He read the entry over and then looked back to the Nidoran. Obviously the entry would make no different on his descision, but he liked to appear very official.
"So it's a boy." Roran stated the obvious. "But it has the same pokemon name as the female...even though they're different. Err..." he was begining to confuse himself now. Why the heck was it different from the female version? Did other pokemon have this strange trait? He sighed and squatted down so that he was level with the small thing. "Comming with us isn't going to be pretty. We'll get on your nerves and you'll get annoyed. We are going to go through a lot of tough situations. Do you think you could handle all that?" He pulled out an empty pokeball and held it out to the Nidoran. If the nidoran accepted, it would only have to push the button to be caught.

<Yes, I accepted I can get through anything!> The Nidoran replied boldly. After explaining his final decision the Nidoran started to charge forward at the pokeball with it's forceful horn. "Great!" Roran said as he put the pokeball onto his belt. "He will sure come in handy with that poison of his." Roran flashed a smile to the team and quickly returned everyone besides Pichu and Kenji. Pichu took his spot in the hood of Roran's hoodie. It wasn't much of a surprise that these two were out. They were two of his closest and loyal pokemon. "Okay, you two..." he began as they began to walk around on the route. "I've been thinking a lot. I want to do something really special for the team before we face the gym leader. Any suggestions?"
Pichu smiled as he shouted out, <GIFTS!> He giggled and continued, <Maybe something for luck?> Roran thought about it for a moment as an idea came into his head.
"Alright, I got it. But its a suprise so I can tell either of you!" Roran said as he crossed his arms to merely put emphasis on his point. He was so intent on this idea that he hardly noticed the two pokemon roll their eyes. The idea? IT'S A FREAKING SUPRISE. As they walked on the route, Roran thought of multiple things. Such as when to give it to them and where. He imagined their reactions in full detail. It would be such a great thing before a gym match.

Whenever someone was being watched by something, usually they can sense it after a while. Especially if they were from a pair of the darkest, beadiest eyes that anyone could stare into. The Pokemon itself looked like a shell, with no apparent life inside of the yellow frame. But inside that motionless body, was an angry spirit. Just by looking at those laughing fools up on the path, the same fools that woke it up from its glorious nap!
Inside its head a smile crept upon its face, a building excitment on the possibility of revenge against these punks. How it would savor this! Using a String Shot to propel its body forward, and in front of the walking crew it waited for the perfect moment. Just as Roran was walking under it, it popped right out of thin air. Dangling its buggy body in front of the trainer's face, eager to accept any reaction from the guy.

Roran had been playing with the watch on his wrist and hadn't even noticed much until he looked up at just the wrong time. The second he looked up was when the bug pokemon appeared infront of his face. Roran opened his mouth to let out a scream, but he was so scared that nothing came out. He felt down onto the ground and that was when he let it out. The scream to end all screams. Roran's laugh was a feminine giggle, and his scream? There was no word for it. The correct classification was simply a super high pitched noise that usually comes from the female species.
His arms shot out infront of his face as he continued in a high-pitched manner, "BUG! KILL IT! KILL IT!" He was speaking indirectly to Kenji who of course would have an advantage here. Pichu groaned as he looked upon the pitiful state of his master. Looks like they would have to take control of this battle. Pichu wobbled over to the pokedex and pulled it out.
<Kenji, it's a bug-type so make use of your ember,> Pichu shouted out as he read over the entry and its attacks. Kenji nodded subconsciously and aimed an ember at the string it was attached to instead of the pokemon itself. Maybe if it knocked it down, this whole thing would become much easier.

The Embers had caught on its extremely flammable thread and traveled quickly onto the Kakuna itself. Screaming in pain from the fire attack, and in response was a heart pumping fall to the ground as the string broke. Remained in a motionless prision in the freezing snow, the Kakuna went into an emotional breakdown on panic and rage. Fearful of dying in the snow, and furious that it ended up in this position with one attack. Its thrashing about was enough to bring out the energy it had been saving all Winter long. Evolution time~ ((Almost everytime there's a Kakuna in the TV show, it evolves. xD)) Oh yeah, now it was ticked off. The burn marks shown on the shell left on the ground shown on its lower abdomen. Only a minor burn, however. The Beedrill began testing out its wings by flying into the air, its needles waving at the Human and duo of Pokemon with a threatening look. ((It doesn't seem fair to attack first, after this so... ^^' ))

"GET IT! KENJI! HELP!" Roran screamed yet again. He flailed around on the ground as if some invisible beast was attacking him. It was a truly strange situation for Roran to find himself in. Not many new trainers would be put on the ground in a panic after a small bug pokemon appeared. He hadn't even noticed it evolve so he still thought it was a little Kakuna. A trainer? Afraid if a Kakuna? Oh the shame...
<Yeah, kinda working on it here.> Kenji growled back. He didn't really like to see his trainer like this. It was very easy to get annoyed. He knew that now the battle would be slightly harder, the thing being able to fly and all, but it should still bee (IT'S PUNNY!) pretty easy.

(( .... -throws brick at Sprite- ))
Now that the Beedrill was eager and ready to show these punks a thing or two about messing with its beauty sleep, it flew right over Roran to get in one last scare. Holding in any laughs that were caught in its mouth with all of the screaming the male was letting out.
Okay, now it was gonna fight. Starting with testing out its newest weapons first, with the giant stingers held out front, it flew towards Kenji in a Superman pose. Ready to hit him with multiple strikes with Fury Attack, and show the true power of a Beedrill.
